I chose this business based on high Unilocal reviews. I needed the sleeves shortened on two suit jackets. While they were shortened properly & they’ve held up well for a year now, I’m still steaming over the price. To shorten 4 sleeves (2 suit jackets), they charged $ 80. Admittedly, I don’t have a lot of experience with alterations, but that seems over the top. Alteration ability — good; price — seems high.

I called to see if they did women’s dresses because I worked right down the street from them. They said they do dresses all the time. I get my dress back (a month later) and it was way too short and the alterations did not look good on the outside. I told them I was not happy with it, and he said «you look fine, that will be $ 98.00). I was furious. I will not go back for any dress alterations!

Popped in here almost by accident. I was headed over to the Ohio Book Store, hoping to find a vintage copy of Consumer Reports from the month and year my nephew was born (for a first Communion gift) and I saw a man in the window getting measured for a dress shirt.
What I noticed right away was the man had a very unique build. Basically he had a thick, slightly reverse tapered neck with a protracted shoulder girdle. As someone who, at one time, had a similar issue with severely sloping shoulders I was astonished to see the care the tailor took in measuring the location of the armhole. In order to construct a proper fitting shirt for an man with that shape, careful attention to the width of the yoke and an artificially high armhole placement are imperative. I’ve literally told the customer service people at ShirtsMyWay that same thing about a hundred times. They just don’t seem to get it.
I immediately went in, got measured and ordered a half dozen custom shirts with exactly the fabric, buttons and sleeve placket style I love.
Great find and it’s located in the skinniest building in Cincinatti!

TOP-​NOTCH business! You walk in and it’s like you’ve stepped back in time; super old-​time feel. Very professional and courteous staff. I brought in two pants (1 business 1 pair of jeans) to have hemmed and my total was under $ 35 so I think that’s more than fair given the top-​quality work they did. I’m wearing my newly hemmed jeans as I type and I couldn’t be happier! Also, there is plenty of meter parking in the area so no worries about traveling downtown. I know some people worry about parking. I will definitely be returning!

The guys at Nobby know their stuff. They’re willing to offer as much help and advice as you want them to, which is always a plus– I hate feeling crowded and overwhelmed by pushy salespeople.
I ordered 3 MTM (Made to Measure) shirts of various characteristics; It took about 3 – 4 weeks (they ran out of material for one of the shirts and called to let me know immediately), and when I received the first two, I noticed that the armholes of the shirts were way too big and not the trim/​slim fit I had been hoping for. I brought it back to Nobby and the guys were more than willing to fix it, at no additional charge. I never specified the desired fit of the shirts at the outset, so good on them for helping out.
I got the third shirt back at the same time as the two that were fixed, and was worried I’d have to get the third re-​tailored as well, but they already carried over the changes. That speaks volumes to me.
Yes, they are a little on the expensive side (think my 3 shirts were around $ 430), but you’re paying for American quality from a local establishment, and that can’t be beat. Sure, you can head to ShirtsMyWay or RatioClothing, both of which offer their own set of pros and cons, but the one thing they don’t offer is a human face and the interaction and security that Nobby Custom Tailors provides.

My boyfriend had his suit tailored here. The suit started out boxy — off the rack — not fitted well. Way too roomy around the waist and chest. He’s a trim guy who looks great in more fitted clothing. He had the pants taken in by another alterations shop in Lexington and they really screwed up the fly — the zipper was always showing & it was awkward. Nobby’s had him try on the jacket for about 30 seconds and said come back in a week. The jacket now looks custom made — it fits him like a dream. They also fixed the pant fly — you can’t tell anything was ever wrong with them. I highly recommend this place, especially for men’s clothing. The price was extremely reasonable — $ 58 to take in the jacket & fix the pants. Right next door to Knockback Nats!

Want to be a stylish dude, then you should be getting yourself some clothes from Nobby’s. I went in because of a Groupon originally and I’m still coming back. The guys at Nobby’s are great at taking you through the whole process. If you haven’t been to a tailor to have a shirt or pants or a a suit made for you before it can be pretty awesome.
Step 1. look through books of fabric to find something rad
Step 2. pick out every conceivable options about how you want it to look. For example, how wide do you want the collar, do you want buttons on the collar, do you want front pockets on a shirt, if so what shape for the top and what for the bottom and should there be a flap for it, how do you want the cuffs, what cut shape for the cuffs. In the end, everything is fully customized so it’s exactly what you want.
Step 3. Look awesome
The guys at Nobby’s are really nice and they take their time if you’re new to using a tailor. There’s also some seriously awesome deals to be had if you ask what they can do for you on a budget.

This little «mom-​n-​pop» tailor shop does a great job with alterations and repairs. Their prices are reasonable & fair and, quite frankly, they do a damn good job. I’ve had them repair everything from buttons and pants to sewing patches on a backpack… all done well. They also make custom suits, but I haven’t gone down that road yet. They’re located right downtown on 7th St. near the Macy’s HQ. There is plenty of street parking.
On an historical note, the east side of their building (connected to it) is literally the thinnest building in Cincinnati. You’ll have to cross the street to fully gauge it, but you’ll see that a very very thin building was built between two others sometime in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. It’s pretty cool. You can use Google Maps’ streetview to see it as well… check it out!
