Not a bad place. I stopped in and got some chili cheese fries. I also got plenty of hot sauce since Cincinnati chili is a little sweet. It was pretty good and the staff was pretty nice. The place was clean and the prices were reasonable. Overall it was okay!

I was working in Dayton for a few days and since I was so close to Cincy I decided to drive down and try some of it’s world famous Skyline Chili. It was a great decision. I didn’t have a clue what I should get and told the waitress it was my first time. She was awesome! She said, «I’ll take care of you.» So she brought my 2 mini chili dogs and a 3 Way. I loved all of it! Lived up to the hype! And my waitress gave me a goodie bag with a Skyline hat, bib, etc.

Im from LA and loved skyline chili! I had it 3 way and might move to cinci just to have it again. Our waiter really made our experience too, gave us the history and rundown of the restaurant. He also treated us to a first-timer skyline gift. PS: tried gold star since skyline was closed on Sunday… Doesn’t even compare. Go skyline!

It’s skyline time, but first let me say that I a a transplant to this area, so I don’t rank as high with some of the Cincinnati chili. However, with that being said, as for as a novelty area offering, Skyline is okay. For those not from this area, chances are that it is not the chili that you grew up eating. It does take some time to become accustomed to it, in fact, I still have family that refuse to eat there after trying it once. But you can’t do Cincinnati without doing some chili. Grab a coney and five way to experience it best in my opinion. The service at this location is usually pretty good as well.

I may be crucified for saying this but is there such thing as «too much» cheese? I stopped by here while I was town for the Allstar game. I couldn’t bring myself to order the chili on the spaghetti, that was just too weird for me. I went with 3 chili cheese dogs, had to pull off some of the cheese because it was too much.

The chili was not very great. I am not the best cook, but I know I could make a better chili myself. Furthermore, it was cold for both my bowl and my mom’s 5 way. Perhaps ask for extra hot, if you like warm chili. I also got a Greek salad, which was surprisingly good. The lettuce was fresh, and they had decent feta. Their coffee was really good, too! The ambiance wasn’t the most inviting, and we almost decided to not stay when we got here. If these were the only considerations, I would give 2 stars. Then, there is the service. We had Brenda. She was FABULOUS. She was so friendly and personable. She explained everything to us, and it seemed like she wanted us to really enjoy our experience. SHE made the experience memorable! If you go, make sure to ask for Brenda. She’s, without a doubt, one of the best servers I have ever had.

I tried Skyline for the first time here. The 4 way and Coney were delicious. Though it does taste like Chef Boyardee feed ravioli. My friend and I were seated quickly and out food came out quickly too. The location is close to the UC uptown campus.

Came here while visiting from out of town, so obviously had to get a chili item of some sort. Instead of getting the chili on spaghetti like I wanted, I decided to go with the chili dogs and french fries instead. The good thing about these hot dogs is that they are smaller than normal hot dogs so you can pound more and not even realize you are doing it! I went with three dogs all the way and fries. The dogs came with onion, chili and a mound of cheese. If you don’t like cheese, I don’t understand how that could even be possible, don’t get anything with cheese on it here. The cheese comes in mountain servings and nothing else! I really enjoyed my lunch here. The chili was richer tasting then what I am used to but still delicious. The dogs were cooked perfectly and the fries were pretty good as well. The service was just as good as the meal. Everyone in this place was a darling and I would absolutely come back if I am ever in town again!

Read all the reviews about this place and I was excited to try a chili and cheese dog. What a disappointment. Probably the worse hot dog I’ve ever eaten. I have no idea what people are raving about!?!

There should be a t-hhirt that says«I had my first 3-way at Skyline.» In Cincinnati chili speak, that means that means spaghetti(1) covered with chili(2), and topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese(3). Adding beans and/or onions can push that to a ‘4-way’ or ‘5-way’ experience… but I didn’t want to get in over my head during my first visit to Skyline(grin). Cincinnati-style chili is a sweeter version of Texas chili. It’s meaty without beans. I chose to have mine over both spaghetti and over a hot dog. It was good and got even better with a few shakes of hot sauce. it was also messy. Luckily, as a first timer, they insisted that I wear a bib which saved my shirt from the rookie stains that resulted. Service was fast and friendly. The Skyline is a cultural food landmark in Cincinnati, much like The Varsity is in Atlanta.

«You have to go to Skyline Chili». We heard this from my cousin, her fiancé, his family… So we headed to Skyline Chili. Our server greeted us almost immediately and asked if we had ever been there, since we hadn’t we were given bibs and a bag for first timers and also given some great recommendations. We each got a couple chili dogs(the spicy cheese is great) plus dad got the three way which he said was also very good. Good food, fast and friendly service, definitely a stop to make when in Cincinnati!

I have heard about Cincinnati-style chili, and since I was in downtown Cincinnati and going to be there for awhile because a truck traveling down IH-75 had misplaced a large girder beam in the middle of the freeway and NOBODY was going anywhere for awhile… …I stopped in and tried it. On only a few occasions in my life have I had food which was so good that I started giggling. Cincinnati-style chili is very different from the Texas-style chili that I’m used to. «Different» is NOT synonymous with«bad». In this case, «different» is very, very GOOD. It’s hard to explain, but it’s a combination of cinnamon, chocolate, Worcestershire sauce, allspice, cloves, cayenne and chili powder served on top of spaghetti with beans, cheese and green onions — ANDITWORKS! I had the five-way chili. The waitress was an absolute *love* — she got a picture of me with a beatific expression on my face(and giggling!), and she kept the refills coming on my drink. Oh – be sure to wear the bib they offer: the chili will stain your clothes if it gets on them. Seldom have I enjoyed being stuck in a city while traffic crews cleared a girder beam off the expressway and a large traffic clot cleared as I did this visit to Cincinnati!

Very friendly and it was fun to try the famous chili. I did not like it, but I don’t think that has anything to so with the restaurant itself. The chili has a heat but it’s too subtle and tastes weirdly cinnamon-y. Clearly I’m used to southern chili. :)

Cincinnati style chili! My husband insisted I had to try Cincinnati style chili during our visit. He requested a sample of the chili to make sure I was ok with his plan. It is very cool that they will bring you a sample if you’ve never tasted their chili before. I didn’t love it because it had cinnamon in it but I’m no party pooper. I believe in eating like the locals so I asked him to order me the three way chili which was spaghetti topped with their signature chili and cheese. It was good and I’m sure there are people out that love this recipe more than I did. Everyone should definitely try it once. Who knows? I may go back. It could grow on me.

yeah, I don’t know. I’m all for vernacular snacks and the particularities of places, but this is straightforward chili-cheese dog or spaghetti(the latter being the inventive part, I suppose). but it’s not really that good and the cheese is a bit much… a florid yellow and globular when it melts. has all the style of a fast food chain. but the people are all really nice.

We came here in the middle of a snow storm and there were only two other patrons in this whole place! The service was quick and friendly and I was so surprised how nice everyone was here despite being stuck in snow storm. We ordered up two cheese coneys and a three way both came up pipping hot and just as fresh as could be. We warmed up for the long trek home and we were so pleased that this skyline stayed open to fill our bellies. Hive five for being awesome! Great food, good for families, decent price — it’s always skyline time in my book!

Wow! A tourist visiting from GA, I stopped by before meeting a friend. The customer service was so amazing, every person that was working made sure that I was OK by stopping by. My phone was about to die, and they even lended me a charger! How nice :) The chili dog was not what i expected but still an awesome way to start my day. I had to have another!

I’ve been here several times and it’s always packed. The chili is always great and the workers are always a lot of fun. I feel good when I go to this location. The cheese coneys are my favorite but everyone should try a three-way, four-way, and five – way at least once!
