St Vincent de Paul – Este Ave Superstore

First I just have to acknowledge and say I love what this place does for the community. It positively impacts so many people and this store in particular has almost everything you can imagine. I’ve been here tons of times dropping stuff off but today I came looking for a pressure cooker. I found one with a great seal within 3 minutes of walking in. They sale clothing and kitchenware, appliances, music and jewelry etc. for a more than fair price and I often come looking for antiques and nice old neckties. This store is different than the other SVDP stores because it is the «Super store». Much larger in size and they carry tons of more product. I’d start a search here if you are looking for something specific. I looked in craigslist before coming here and the cheapest pressure cooker I found was for $ 12 and 42 miles away/​84 miles roundtrip. I drove 5 miles and paid $ 6 here. Score!!!

This thrift store is huge but the selection is not always good. Often game boxes are empty or missing significant pieces, the pants are mostly taper leg, and its hard to find a price list. But you can find things here on occasion if you dig. Recently, I bought two rolls of streamers and a punch bowl with 12 cups for my Golden Globes party for $ 6.
They often have a line but it moves especially if they send a second cashier.
I go to this location because it is the closest thrift store to my home. And they usually have good daily deals and BearCash coupons.

There is a reason this is called a Superstore. As mentioned in many reviews, it is gianormous! There is a little or a lot of everything from LP’s to santa statues! When you visit this place, make sure you a decent amount of time or come in knowing what you want specifically or your 30 minutes could turn into 3 hours. I know as I used to stop here 3 — 4 times a week on my commute to the University of Cincinnati.
This is the thrift shop that other thrift shops shop at!

If you want to find the good stuff it seems like you need to go on a thursday or a Wed. If you go on the weekend it seems to be hit and miss. The customer service could be a little better. Sometimes if there is no price on something they make a huge deal out of it. Some of the stuff that they put out really is junk and should have been thrown out or recycled, but most of it is in good shape. I think that sometimes they forget that they are a thrift store because honestly for some of that kids stuff you can come off cheaper at a regular store on the clearance rack. But when they have the half price days and what not then that is a deal. Overall this a an okay store and yes I think you should go and would go again.

I stopped in here one day, mainly because I’d never been in before and I was surprised. This store is BIG, and it seems like every shelf, every clothing rack, every corner of the store is stuffed. There is so much stuff here! It looks like they’ve even started using rooms in the warehouse-​style facility that weren’t intended for display and set up racks and shelves in there.
The thing about it is that, while there is a ton of stuff here, it takes a long time to go through it all. Some of the areas seem kind of thrown together and sorting through all of it can be a chore. It’s a little unorganized in that regard.
Some people like the «treasure hunt» aspect of thrift stores, so if that’s your thing, you’re in luck here.

Great selection for women clothes. Decent selection for children and not good for men. Guess why I came… for the men clothes.

I recently shopped here. last Saturday and was disapointed that the prices seemed to have gone up considerably since they opened this store. I come here on a regular basis and usually found something I liked. The furniture is overpriced for what your getting and most times they are not willing to separate items like two matching dressers, etc. Most people dont want two of anything. I know they change managers quite frequently. The current one needs to be better informed.

If I walk in here it’s almost assured that I will be walking out with something, if I’m not then I haven’t looked hard enough.
This is the ultimate thrift store, almost no matter what you’re looking for they have it and if they don’t just come back in a week. It seems like they have hundreds of thousands of pieces of clothing, nick nacks, books, glassware, electronics (older stuff), records (my fav section), furniture, shall I go on?
It’s in a little bit of a sketchy neighborhood and some of the patrons are a little odd so expect some good people watching while you are there too. Non of that means they are selling crap. I have found several very nice shirts there, some glasses for my alcohol, and a very nice armoire that I’m in the process of refinishing.
Prices here are super reasonable. Dress shirts are anywhere from $ 0.99 to about $ 3.00, furniture varies in price but there’s not much that’s priced over $ 100 and if it is then it’s a huge set. Every week there’s a different sale so if it’s not on sale this week come back next and it will be.
If you’re a regular thrift store shopper then this should be a must stop for you.

Oh St. Vincent de Paul. I love my thrift stores of all types but I’ve never had much luck inside your doors. I can appreciate your plight, but things seem to be randomly stored and I just can never find what I’m looking for. I typically shop for funky clothes though and maybe that’s my downfall.
I read about the glassware and vases in another post. maybe this shop is better for housewares instead of clothing.
Will I go back? Sure. but I’d probably head next door first.

This place is full of treasures and unique items. Large selection of clothing and kitchen items. Many cool lamps and lampshades. Coffee mugs and glasses for super cheap– and a selection that will allow for abundant creativity (and thrift) when pulling together your kitchen style.
I do believe this is my favorite thrift store in Cincinnati.

I found this shop super convenient for dropping off lots of donation stuff when we were moving, and I enjoyed browsing, trying not to bring back more than I left. I much admire SVdP for being close to people who may need help — unlike GW who moved it all to the burbs.
