The Farm

They do these really horrible telemarketing calls about their weekly specials. It. Is. Awful. I have no idea how I got on their call list but I never have been and never will go to the farm. Honestly, such an invasive advertising practice! Tacky.

The Farm is a banquet hall that moonlights as a buffet on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Ironically, despite these limited hours, it is easily the best limitless dining experience in the greater Cincinnati area. This is primarily because 98% of the buffets in town are Asian oriented (no pun intended) and do very little to set themselves apart from one another. The other 1.9% are Golden Corrals. While I appreciate the vast selection available at the home of the Chocolate Wonderfall, they truly don’t hold a candle to the Farm, in terms of presentation and/​or quality.
Two patron lines run along either side of a L-​shaped serving table. Do not allow this slight inconvenience to discourage subsequent trips to the buffet, as both move briskly. Along your way, you’ll discover many appetizing options to pile upon your plate. Think Thanksgiving Day without the sweatpants. Though, I’m sure you could wear sweats, if you were so inclined. The atmosphere is dimly lit and casual. The clientele isn’t particularly young or hip, but if you’re just there to stuff your face, who the hell cares?
The majority of the selection remains the same, regardless of what night you decide to go. The crux of your decision lies within the main courses: Tuesdays = baked ham, roast beef or fried chicken, Thursdays = pasta or barbecue spare ribs. I recommend the former, simply because I found the ribs to be a little dry the one time I opted for the latter. However, not unlike the lacking sauce, I am bold. So, I’m sure I’ll test the Thursday night waters again, at some point.
Beverages are served at the bar to the rear of the hall. Depending on the size of the crowd, additional seating areas will become available. They do accept table reservations for larger parties. A most excellent dessert bar, with cheesecake, carrot cake, cobbler, bread pudding … holy heck, I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. One more reason to hate Mondays!

Choosing to have our wedding ceremony and reception at The Farm was the best choice that we made. I looked around the Cincinnati area and The Farm was the best value I could find so when we wanted to get more info about it they invited us out to their Tuesday or Thursday dinner buffet complimentary. Dan sat down with us and went over all of the info and showed us around and was so informative and helpful. We chose our date and booked almost immediately. We knew we were not going to find a nicer facility with any nicer people at such a great value! Throughout the planning process they were so helpful in answering my questions, allowing us to come over and measure things for decorations on multiple occasions, and they had us out for another complimentary dinner to go over some last minute details. They allowed us to rent out part of their second party room since we were expecting 250 guests and offered to open up the second buffet line too for a very reasonable price. They also tried to keep our main room open the night before the wedding so that we could come in and decorate, which enabled us to come in at noon on Friday and decorate all afternoon to get it looking just how I had dreamed. They had an event that night in the other room so they set up the remainder of our centerpieces in the other room and fixed some things that had fallen for us on the day of the wedding which was so helpful. Dan and Donna specifically went out of their way to help make our day perfect and it definitely was. Everything ran so smoothly and we had no issues whatsoever. They turned the coat room into a getting ready area for my bridal party and I and they even had a backdrop in there which allowed us to take some nice pics with family and friends prior to the wedding starting. For the wedding ceremony they had a beautiful archway that we got to use free of charge and a curtain backdrop to cover up the DJ that made for some great pics. The food was so delicious! We have had people raving about how great the food was, how beautiful the place was and how nice the people were. Our package price included all of the people working including the bar tenders, greeters, food servers, etc., the food, draft beer, 2 bottles of champagne for the bridal party toast and the room. We did an open bar and they just kept a tab that we paid for at the end of the night. If you are looking for a great place to have your wedding reception or any kind of big event that has great food and friendly people for a good price then look no further!!! They did an amazing job with our wedding and I’m sure they would do the same for you!!!

The Farm was very reasonable and worked with our budget. This is not the glitziest place to hold an event in Cincinnati and it can be a bit difficult to get to. I was very impressed with what they offered for our budget. The staff are excellent!
The Farm is located on Anderson Ferry in Delhi. It’s a little hard to find but they do have ample parking.
The building itself is very well maintained. Meeting rooms are well decorated and very open, bathrooms are tidy and plentiful.
Staff are friendly and easily accessible. When given requests they are very responsive and genuinely seem to care.
The buffet we had was pretty good. Fried chicken and ham were decent. Sides like mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent. Desserts were store bought but still pretty good. The bar is a full bar.
For the price, this is an excellent place for an event.

Tuesday buffet review here. While the staff was extremely nice, the food was extremely dull and limited. With $ 15 for adults (seniors $ 14) and the amount of people there for the buffet, one would think they’d have more selection. I will concede that all the food was fresh and hot. However, I don’t think I’d recommend it nor take a guest to The Farm. There are better buffets in Cincinnati.

I’ve been to countless special occasions at this place, it has a lot of good memories. The food is good, but I do have to agree it’s really «dark» and «drab» inside. It could use a bit of remodeling. The family that owns the place is good to the community and just all around good people, so bypass Golden Corral and head on over to The Farm, pay three extra bucks and eat there. :D

Tuesday buffet!
If you’re a west sider, I’m sure you’ve been to the Farm for a wedding reception, retirement party or dance. But have you been to the Tuesday or Thursday night buffet?
My favorite is Tuesday. For a reasonable price $ 13.95 for adults, (kids and senior pricing available) you can enjoy the old fashioned home style cooking of the Elsaesser family. Standing roast beef, baked whole ham and famous fried chicken are the staples there. Be sure to try the cheesy green beans too. After dinner, a wide range of deserts will certainly please.
The food is delicious, quantity plentiful, great for kids and adults and the prices are very reasonable.

This is a dinning/​banquet hall and semi-​restaurant. The rooms can be rented out for special occasions. They have open buffets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reservations are recommender for 8 people or more. Some rooms do have bars and dance floors, I believe they can also be sectioned off. The atmosphere is somewhat German with dark wood usage and style, looks kinda blan and dated. Not the best dinning hall to rent out, but certainly not the worst either.
The food is decent «home style» cooking, meats, potatoes, vegetables, with some other things thrown in. The meals lack «style», it’s mostly stuff that a mom would make for Thanksgiving. You’ll definitely get yourself full at the buffets though. The service is usually pretty good as well. Three stars because it’s not the worst meal you could eat, but it’s nothing fancy either.
If you go for a buffet expect to see lots of old people (and families), this is indeed in Delhi.
