Wine Cellar Innovations specializes in the design, build, manufacturing, and installation of wine racks and custom wine cellars for both residences and commercial retail establishments.

History

Established in 1988.

Founder and creator Jim Deckebach’s love of fine wines and foods began in 1974 when he studied in France. He returned to the US to manage a restaurant in Cincinnati and remodel homes on the side. He started Deckebach Construction & Remodeling Business in 1977 out of his garage, and built his first wine cellar as part of a remodeling job in 1984. Within one year he specialized in custom wine cellars. In 1998 Deckebach moved to their current 350,000 sq. ft. facility in Cincinnati and began a refrigeration department with test chambers to develop the best storage methods for aging wine. Builders, remodelers and architects began looking to Deckebach to fulfill the highly specialized needs of building and designing wine cellars. The company today designs, builds, and installs the world’s leading wine cellars for discerning clients the world over. In addition to magnificent custom wine cellars, the company also carries an entire line of DIY wine rack kits, that can fit any budget.

Our wine rack was very quick and easy to assemble, and we absolutely love it in the room. We highly recommend this company, and the quality products they provide. We had a little hiccup with one of the pieces being incorrect, but when I we contacted the company they quickly rectified the situation in a matter of days!

Wine rack arrived on time and was easy to put together. I used a hammer since I was too lazy to pull out the air compressor and get my nail gun working, but a hammer worked just fine since pine is pretty soft and easy to work with. Instructions were clear and easy to follow and the rack went together nicely. Recommend setting it up in the garage on flat concrete to make the setup easy. Also comes with mounting brackets for the wall to prevent tipping. We’re very happy with the product.

Our rack turned out Beautiful! It really couldn’t have been simpler and the price was unbelievable. We started off with having someone make a custom wine rack. Fortunately for us, that contractor was having issues getting that built correctly and he bailed out after numerous attempts, that same night I ordered my pre-​built, pre-​stained unit from wine cellar innovations and it was perfect.

From start to finish, every experience I had with Wine Cellar Innovations was top notch. I initially spoke with someone via the website chat who was willing to go out and take some specific measurements of their products for me that weren’t shown on the drawings. That impressed me. Followed that up with a phone call to a very friendly and helpful young lady who walked me through the purchase process with zero pressure and a ton of friendliness. Shipping was on time, as promised. Can’t ask for more than that! When the racks arrived, not a scratch on them, and they went together incredibly easily. Highly recommend using a brad nailer, as it makes the assembly fly by.
High quality, great appearance, friendly service, and superb follow up from their staff. In this day and age of garbage customer service, they really break that paradigm wide open. Shop here without hesitation.

My handyman didn’t have any trouble putting them together, and he used a nail gun. I”m very happy with them for the price. Since I went double deep, it doesn’t exactly feel super stable when I put in the wines, but it’s worth it, because anything else would have cost hundreds and hundreds of dollar more AND now that it’s been a couple of weeks, I’ve gotten used to how I have to lay the wines down. Themost important thing is that my handyman said it would cost me three times what we paid if he had to make them from scratch, even using the same quality of material. AND HE’S SUPER REASONABLE!

Great price and customer service.
It took a little longer to assemble then I thought but it was well worth the time. The rack is very stable and easy to navigate.
The shipping was delayed a few days but was very happy to be notified this was the case. I plan on buying several more wine racks as we grow.

Wine racks are made of quality materials and are well constructed. It made it easy to add a great amount of wine storage to an existing pantry. I would recommend a nail gun to make things easier on the larger racks. They have a solution for almost any wine storage need.

I’m a very happy customer. These wine racks arrived quickly, were easy to assemble, look great and are very sturdy.
Two bits of advice: 1) Especially if you are going to set up multiple racks, use a nail gun. You use lots of nails to assemble the racks, and doing them by hand would take you forever. 2) Make sure you know which side is the top and which is the bottom before you start assembling.

I’ve been looking to convert and area of my basement into a more formal wine storage area, rather than just boxes on top of each other. After years of procrastination and not finding what I wanted when I did look, a friend recommended Wine Cellar Innovations.
After reviewing their rack offerings and those from other sites I chose the Traditional Redwood Wine Racks (unfinished), w/​5 columns. The rack was delivered within the 2 week time frame promised (actually within 1 week). They were easy to assemble. I assembled and then pre-​drilled holes for the nails. All told it took about 45 minutes to put together, and secure to the basement wall.
The only problem I have is, it’s full and now I need to order another.

Great company to work with. They custom designed my wine room FOR FREE! I sent them measurements and my needs, and they gave me several options to choose from to utilize my space. They even did a couple rounds of revisions to make it just perfect for us. We received our products quickly and my contractor installed them with ease. I love that the wood racks hold all size bottles. Our favorite products are the metal wall racks. They look great!

When we needed a custom solution for an awkward space we designed specifically for temp controlled wine storage, Wine Cellar Innovations solution was ideal.
We had to work through unique specifications for 750ml storage two bottles deep, 1.5 storage 1 bottle deep, and for maximizing space a solution that hung directly on a flat wall. The team was very helpful and patient.
The racking shipped as promised, was very good quality and fit perfectly making for a optimized wine storage answer. My only criticism is that the construction instructions could have been clearer. I am a bit handy and was able to work through it, but it may be a challenge for some. Two people were needed for constructing my solution.
All in all a very good experience.

I really like these wine racks. Very good quality wood, even when unfinished. They arrived right on schedule and packaging was very good — no chance to damage them in shipment to Georgia. I highly recommend using a nail gun because it made the assembly quick and fun. I’m looking forward to purchasing some more as my wine collection grows. Vintner Series Wine Racks
We like the 96-​bottle wine rack and it worked perfectly for the specific area where we
wanted it. The guys at Wine Cellar Innovations worked well with us in making sure the racks were the right size and we understood what we were getting. They sent us drawings ahead of time.
I watch the videos on how to assemble them and decided I did not want to rent a
nail gun. Also, I am not particularly handy, so I hired a man to put it
together while he was doing some other work on the house. He said it was no
problem and he built it in an hour or so.

Ordered two of their half-​height Designer Series Wine Racks in unstained All Heart redwood. Very detailed descriptions on their website and easy to order. I was fitting this into an interior closet and needed to maximize space utilization, so greatly appreciated their range of products including stackables. Product was delivered to CA within a week, well packed and easy to assemble. Assembled both units in about an hour.
