Beach Hut Deli

The sandwiches are really good. But the service is horrible! Excuse me for not pronouncing the name of the sandwich correctly that is not a reason to give bad customer service. But sandwiches are great just be prepared for not so great service.

I love Beach Hut Deli, the one I used to go to at Lohman’s Plaza was awesome and the staff was always sweet and friendly. However, now that I’m closer to the Greenback location, I have been there 3 separate times and each time the girls were SO RUDE! Not, just to me but also my husband and my kids. They’re too busy flirting and talking to each other to give any kind of quality customer service. For 17.00 a sandwich that takes 20 minutes to make, the quality of the service shouldn’t be this deplorable. I waited till I’d gone there a few times before I passed judgement but there is a definite negative pattern at this location. Based on the comments below, I see I’m not the only person who feels this way about this Beach Hut. Shameful.

Best sandwich I’ve had all year, and dog friendly too! I was getting my brakes fixed across the street and had my dog with me so I decided to walk to Beach Hut deli for lunch and kill some time. It was the best idea I’ve had in a long time! I got the Surfing Bird and sat outside since I had my dog. One of the awesome staff saw my dog, so she brought out a Frisbee full of water for her. I had great food, nice music and great staff in a dog friendly environment, what more can you ask for? I will definitely be back. Thanks Beach Hut!

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I never got the name of the person I spoke to, but I have never been treated so poorly by someone in a customer service role. I called right when they opened to order some food to be delivered. The lady I spoke to said they weren’t open until 10 (it was now 10:01) and that they wouldn’t deliver unless it was over $ 100. I said it would likely be that since I was ordering for 15 people and it was in fact after 10. She said she was in the middle of a larger order and «you’ll need to call back when we are open». I said «it’s after 10, you’re open» and she just cut me off and said she was in the middle of something and I will need to call back. No thanks, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I get the Malibu sandwich which is really good other than being over $ 10 by itself. I’m curious to know if the young lady making the sandwich should be wearing gloves??? She has on false nails (acrylic French tips) from what I remember in the food industry gloves should be worn. It kinda grossed me out when I seen her handling my sandwich with bare hands.

I don’t like this Beach Hut. Why? The staff. They generally come across as indifferent, do a poor job of preparing the sandwiches, and seem more interested in socializing with friends who are hanging out there than actually working. Try the Natomas or West Sac ones, they are far, far better.

My husband and I like coming here it’s always clean and the food is always great and fast for the most part and it seems like there prices keep going up. It’s been a few months sense my husband and I have been here. Wish there was way more seating though and that they had more hard ciders and beers to pick from. And there closing time on there website is wrong they need to update it

Got to love beach hut! The owner chick is always super cool! Foods always more the fulfilling and the girls always Crack jokes and laugh. Wish they’d get some Friday or Saturday night bands to play. Great spot to hangout and bullshit for a work meeting or to catch up with an old friend.

Came from Texas for Beach Hut deli as there are not any there. Shelly did an awesome job! We are currently going through a rough time with a sick family member, and are a little scattered. She corrected our mistake and delt with the family craziness with a smile on her face and and a kind, gentle heart. The other little gal that was working with her was just as kind and happy. We thank you 2 with all our hearts for making us feel at home in a difficult time. We were there on Monday ³⁄₂₁ around noon. God bless ya’ll!

Had the place cleaned up and we’re trying to leave by closing time. Staff was short and tried to rush us. We’re barking at people that came in. Also staff left as soon as we left. Didn’t get what I wanted because they weren’t helpful and I felt uncomfortable. Please have staff not leave at closing time.

Funny that it took 15 minutes to make a sandwich, not to mention it was on the wrong bread, and I didn’t even get mustard or mayo. The sandwich and a drink were $ 15…crazy

The best sandwich shop. We drive all the way from Folsom because of the atmosphere and customer service at the beach hut deli in Citrus Heights.

I usually love this sandwich shop, even though it is a little expensive. I always get the same sandwich, which includes sprouts. The last two times I have gotten sandwiches to go, I have discovered they «ran out «of sprouts and substituted lettuce instead. I hate lettuce. I suppose now that I will have to inspect my food before I leave there, just like I do at a fast food drive through.

Ordered delivery. Surfin’ Bird and potato salad was $ 36! Normally I wouldn’t care because I like being lazybut this sandwich so bad I am ashamed I even bought it. Everything was «room temperature» by the time it got to me house. Didn’t eat the potato salad because I didn’t know if it had been sitting out for the almost 2hrs it took to get my food. The bread had the weirdest texture and for dutch crunch it sure had no crunch. I didn’t even eat half of the sandwich.
The worst part… I didn’t ask for tomatoes. I listed exactly what I wanted and my sandwich was like %20 tomato and since it had been sitting for so long it soaked into everything. Grossest sandwich.
Leaving them 2 stars and not 1 because I believe they use and outside company for delivery. Not their fault but they should reconsider using that company. May give beach hut another chance someday.
Still…that was a bad sandwich. Don’t know about the potato salad since I was to scared to eat it. Waste of money :(

There are beach hut deli’s all over Sacramento and I have to say with confidence, this is the worst one. Which is unfortunate because this is the one closest to my current house! I would actually say this is the only location that is bad. Certain times of the day and certain days of the week these delis are going to be busy, and I understand that. I just had to wait one hour for a sandwich after calling it in 30 minutes before showing up to the shop. That’s part of my problem. The other part is the attitudes of the people on staff. No apology, no explanation, nothing. They couldn’t even look my boyfriend in the eyes when He asked where our sandwich was. I work customer service and I understand sometimes you get slammed and there is really nothing you can do but you’re best but friendliness goes a long way with me. These girls were rude, unapologetic, and didn’t even quote my time right. I bet that they forgot about my sandwich. Or else they purposefully made every single sandwich first before mine? Either way I don’t appreciate their rudeness, wasting my time as well as no explanation as to why I have to wait so long for an overpriced sandwich. One hour for a sandwich?
The food is good, so I put the two stars.
Oh. The girls also had their hair falling out of place and no gloves on, gross. The shorter girl with a hat, blonde hair and rectangle glasses was especially rude and really doesn’t deserve a position in any work place having to do with customers. I feel like this place strive to have a certain culture of beachy-​down to earth vibes. They should stick to friendly staff versus the people working there today. Also it doesn’t take an hour to make a sandwich. If I didn’t already pay I would have left.

The Sunburn is a delicious sandwich stuffed with chicken and bacon. This place is a little pricey, but well worth it.

I have been to this location several times in the past and the quality of the sandwiches has me coming back. Today’s sandwich was the Surf N Bird… my favorite. As always packed with plenty of turkey and all of the other goodies that makes this a great sandwich! Customer service was good and the server was friendly. Keep up the good work ladies!

I went in to get an order for me and my wife. My wife is obsessed with the garlic cheese bread, of which they had just ran out. I decided that I would just go to another Beach Hut and pick up the order there so that my wife wouldn’t be let down.
The girl, Shelly, who was helping me called the next nearest BHD to ask if they still had the bread stocked. By the time she was off the phone the BHD in Gold River was already making my sandwich so that it would already be ready when I arrived ~ 10 minutes later. Everything went smoothly and I just got home with our sandwiches and my wife is happy.
I realize some people would remove a star for being out of stock in the first place, but this is garlic cheese bread which is a very perishable item — so I don’t hold it against any location that runs out by late afternoon. That said, I didn’t ask for her to call the other location, she simply offered. It can be hard to find proactive customer service in a lot of places, so I give this location a full five stars for going out of their way to remedy the situation.
I also want to say that the Rancho location was awesome for being the other side of the solution, and the sandwiches were perfect.

Anything better then a ice cold tap best sandwich. Fun staff should come visit the girls here to leave satisfied with your belly full and a smile on your face from the pretty girls!

2 ½ stars — Meh. I’ve experienced better. I used to like Beach Hut but lately I’ve been avoiding it. On this evening (Friday) it was close to home and, well, what the hell, why not.
5:30pm and the only bread left are french rolls. I was looking for some vege sandwiches today and the staff member offered three. One had bacon. that’s not vegetarian. I opted for 2 of the Monterey — has cream cheese with the avocado based sandwiches. I like avocado but it is possible to have too much. The cream cheese was like a log stretching the length in the middle of the sandwich. One bite, everything falls out. The cream cheese and avocado overwhelmed the sandwich.
Maybe I have issues and a good thing I was sitting down eating this sandwich. Flavors were ok and overall was just ok but nothing making me want to try again. Please wash your hands when you come in for work before you make my sandwich.
