Belles and Beaus Shih-Tzus

We purchased a puppy from this breeder in June 2009 after calling their vet posted on their website & getting good feedback. When we took puppy to our vet he immediately found something wrong with puppy’s eye and had to see a specialist. After starting out spending a couple of hundred dollars and diagnosis being dry eye which would need treatment for life, the breeder agreed to refund our money & let us keep him since by now we’re in love & thought we knew all we were in for and they would end up putting him down anyways. It has been a never ending battle to keep the puppy healthy. He developed severe allergies and now has small intestinal issues which eventually will kill him. We have spent lots of money on eye specialists & internal medicine specialist and he has stopped responding to meds and will be dying soon. He’s not even 2 years old.
I know things happen, but I’m writing this review since I’m not the only one. A coworker after comparing allergy stories, we figured out her puppy was from the same breeder so it’s not an isolated event.
When initially discussing his eye issue, breeder mentioned she never had this type of issue and has 15 females she breeds. If I would of known this, I would of stayed away and saved the heartache. Cruela comes to mind.
Also, how good is the vet reference when mine found the eye issue immediately and theirs who had done the physical 3 days prior said the puppy was in perfect health???
We’re heart broken. Beau has been a wonderful addition to our family but it has been emotionally & financial draining. I would NOT recommend this breeder if you are looking for a healthy Shih-​Tzu.
