LART’S Smog and Car Wash

A clean large gas station with everything you need in one place! Gas, shop, liquor store, post office, real estate agency, SMOG test and car wash. The place is clean and well maintained. I like this SMOG station because the people are very nice and helpful and they have the machines to test my older car as well as my wife newer one. (most places can’t do that anymore).

Went inside to get some smokes, sunflower seeds, and some refresements at about 1230 on ⁷⁄₂₃ and the clerk was a impolite and rude jerk. Got up to the counter and asked for some Marlboro’s and with my hands full he barks at me for a ID (eventhough im covered with tattoos and clearly over 18, but its the law… i understand) but to bark at me two more times while im still unloading my hands is rude no matter how you look at it. Then once he does have my ID he decides to say my birthday out loud as if i want the store to know, then he doesnt even read the right date, i had to correct him and tell him the correct date-​what was actually on my drivers license. Finally i had a mobile coupon for the smokes from the
(who clearly identifies this specific valaro as a participating store for the mobile coupons) and he refuses to accept it, even after i point out that
states that they accept them. He just made my whole 10 min quick stop vary unpleasant. Last time i ever go there. Do yourself and drive to the chevron & ⁷⁄₁₁ down at auburn and 80 next to Kmart.

This use to be my go to stop for gas, since it’s on the way. Unfortunately today was my last time coming to this place. This review is based on customer service inside the convenience store, not for the smog shop.
I had to stop in and pick up my receipt, and the clerk that was working (around 1pm) was extremely rude, I couldn’t understand why he had to so loudly voice a customer’s personal information while there we’re other patrons around. Very unprofessional, and he probably should go through another round of training.
Someone didn’t want to be at work today!

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! I went here and I got my car smogged. The car failed smog and the tester told me that I most likely needed a new catalytic converter… I had just put in a new one a couple weeks prior, so I knew that wasn’t the case. I took the car to the mechanic and he couldn’t find anything wrong. When he looked at the paperwork I got from Lart’s Smog, he told me that the reason why my car failed smog, was because they tested my car wrong! My car is a 2001 Buick Century. Cars that are newer than a 2000 do not need the dipstick test that goes into the exhaust pipe. Well, that was the test that they performed. He had me go to his smog guy where it passed smog within five minutes. I called Lart’s Smog and told him what happened. he got very defensive and told me that he did nothing wrong. He told me that he did do the right test on my car, and that the law had just changed. right… The law changed in the middle of October within a couple days… I asked for my money back and he said no. The hassle and the extra money I spent on a mechanic and a new smog was definitely not worth The extremely basic «free car wash.»

I have used this smog station several times in the past and never had a problem until now. It has always been a good deal with the PennySaver coupon and free carwash. I arrived this time with no cars ahead of me so zero wait time. They have a new smog technician and this guy put several grease stains on the car from his dirty hands. You would think with not being busy he could wash his hands before putting them on a white car. Also while he was doing his underhood visual inspection of the vacuum lines he was too lazy to remove the two bolts that hold down the plastic engine cover. He pulled on the rear of the cover to bend it out of the way so he could shine his flashlight and see. During the whole time no others cars showed up for a smog so I don’t understand his laziness in not removing the plastic cover properly as he was under no rush. To be fair if I was selling my car I would still go here for a smog. If it’s a car I’m keeping and just doing a smog renewal I will not.
