Ask Eivind

I have been self employed for the past 8 years and privately insured most of that time through Life Wise. With all of the new changes to the health care system I was confused on what to do, how to do it and ultimately what plan to pick. Eivind was beyond helpful and was the only one that actually returned my calls and emails! I know it has to be a crazy busy time for people in this industry but clearly he has systems in place so you don’t fall through the cracks. I hate falling through the cracks. It makes me bitchy! I’m an ex-​pat Australian trying to navigate the complex U.S. health care system (along with many other Americans, so it seems), and recently gained employment at a small business in Portland, OR. I stressed during my interview the importance of health care for both myself and my husband, and was fortunate enough that my prospective employers took me seriously and got right on it.
And by getting right on it, I mean that they recruited this man. Eivind and my (now) new employers co-​ordinated a meeting where both myself and existing staff members were educated and assisted in setting up the best health care options for our specific needs. I can’t say that I now fully understand the complexities of health care in the United States — many aspects will always be way over my head — but from square one I felt completely assured that my best interests were Eivind’s best interests. He is a satellite who is representative of several health care providers, and his main focus is working out which option best benefits the client (that’s me/​you), both in the design of the plan, and financially. He basically takes something that is staggeringly unfathomable for someone like me, considers your life situation and circumstances, and assists you in a custom-​build health care plan — all without a hint of condescension, and in a way that is clear, comprehensive, and free of company bias.
My employers were so impressed with his services and professional attitude that they hosted a Q&A event where Eivind could assist members of the local community also struggling with health care reform. He’s proven to be such a valuable resource to myself and my family, my co-​workers, and our community, that I cannot recommend his services enough.
