This is the place where I buy silver. Jim & Mae are the friendly couple who own the shop, and they’ve been doing their coin-​collecting business for quite a long time. It’s sort of fun how you have to get buzzed in (there’s an imposing-​looking security barred door that locks automatically when it swings shut.) When you step onto the premises, it feels like it must’ve felt in 1978. Or 1958. Essentially unchanged by time but for the gentle sunlight-​weathered look of everything within.
