Scott K.

Manager

Scott has built his business on only one thing — relationships. He started his career doing this as the Director of Guest Services for the Portland Trail Blazers. He has personally owned over 20 residential homes in the last decade and has been a developer for Urban Sky Development. He has been a mortgage advisor, sales manager, and is now branch manager at Root Mortgage.

Scott’s vast experience as a mortgage professional, landlord and developer give him the tools to engage those he teaches. He continues to foster his current relationships and is always building new ones. His passion for clients and knowledge of lending make him an asset to his clients who are the ultimate beneficiaries.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Portland, where he majored in Business Communication. He is married to Kristen and they have 4-​children.

I cannot recommend working with Root Mortgage enough. As first time home buyers, they patiently and thoroughly walked us through the entire process — from the glimmer of an idea of buying a house and seeing what we could afford, to the very final document signing. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly helpful, thorough and professional. They were patient with every question and explanation and were also incredibly prompt with their responses — and we know time is of the essence when finding a house! They were also amazing at navigating a couple tricky things that came up through the process WHILE maintaining a very tight timeline and being thorough and communicative with us. We have already recommended ROOT to a number of friends and family and will continue to do so.

When it comes finance and confidential need, make sure you pick a right person to handle it. He is just NOT my finance person!
Scott is a mix sand bag that should be avoided at all costs. If I can give a zero star, I would. This person is shady, unprofessional, rude and lack of communication. He ran my credit report and started to process a loan. I need to submit a few documents, however there is a situation that I wish to discuss over the phone.
I emailed two times but there is no luck. I called three times next day, I still couldn’t get Scott on the phone. The phone ran but it moved directly to voice mail. I received a returning text message as «sorry, I can’t talk now.» I was frustrated after 2 emails and 3 phone calls. i waited a week later before I fired my last email. I would imagine a normal person will attempt to return a phone call after two emails or few missed calls.
If you have a lot of time to babysit a loaner person, Scott will be your perfect match.
He wasted my time and pulled my credit report for nothing.

Scott’s knowledge base and ability to explain complex terms in simple, understandable information is second to none. Not only does he always look out for client’s best interest, he has a genuine character that shows in all of the conversations. My wife and I recently purchased our first home and had Scott secure our loan. As a first time buyer he made the complicated process very easy. Most importantly he, and his entire team, were engaged the whole time. When questions would arise they were there. When new information came out they called immediately. Both my wife and I felt very taken care of through the entire process (which is important when submitting your financial life to someone).
We will absolutely use Scott again on our next home purchase.

I can’t say enough about the ethics, time and genuine care Scott pours in to each one of my clients.

Just finished up using Scott and his team for a second time. They are great to work with. The team was extremely patient and responsive walking me through the process and answering any questions I might have.
They were available over the weekends to prepare pre-​approval docs so I could move quickly in this crazy market.
