Urban Colorz Salon

I have been seeing Dinah for about 7 years now and have always been thrilled with her amazing work. Dinah is extremely talented and a professional in every way. She has been the only person to get my color perfect and every cut has been great!
My daughter has had her hair done by couple of the other ladies and usually goes to Tish who is also fantastic! You really can’t go wrong at Urban Colorz! The décor and ambiance of the salon is beautiful and filled with gorgeous art pieces! Once you go to Urban Colorz you will be hooked!

I went in and wanted blonde ombré but asked for a price and they said they didn’t exactly know how much it would be until they were done. They said it would be $ 75 an hour which seemed a bit expensive considering it might be a process getting my hair from a light brown to a almost white blonde. I also wasn’t very happy with the customer service of the hair dresser I had. She was rude and I could tell she didn’t want to be there. She did a test strand on my hair but still didn’t continue with the process which was weird to me because we agreed the color of blonde it turned out was perfect. Then I was thinking she might have a client after me but when I was getting ready to leave in the parking lot I saw her driving off. I’m sure they also have some friendly staff but I just didn’t have a very good experience.

First and foremost, Allie rocks!
I found myself needing to find a new hairdresser a few years back. After reading the reviews for Urban Colorz and specifically for Allie, I felt confident my hair was in good hands.
So a bit about my curly hair pre-​Allie days, frizzy, unruly and extremely dry which leads to constant breakage. This has always been my hair’s behavior so I was not expecting Allie to stop the madness.
As you can guess based on the five star rating, the madness stopped. My once bad acting over processed curly hair is now healthy, sleek tamed hair that GROWS.

I got a haircut at Urban Colorz in August and was given very short bangs after I said I definitely didn’t want bangs. Overall the haircut was amazing, but the fact that I now have to grow my bangs out again is really frustrating. I also had a color done recently that was odd. It turned out looking like there was a bunch of grow out, rather than the balayage I went in for. My coworkers, friends, and family commented on how it looked «a little off.» Two other stylists even walked by after my color was done and gave me concerned looks as well as making comments like «so is that it?» and «you used that color instead of our new product?» To say the least, I felt very uncomfortable. I also have straight hair and when my stylist was done she said, «this color is definitely for curly haired people, so you’ll want to curl your hair in order for it to look good.» I am very low maintenance, so I will definitely not be curling my hair every day! The color was very yellow-​gold rather than the bright blonde that I was expecting. So disappointed :(I spent so much money, and now have to spend even more to have the color corrected!

Worst experience ever.
I came to find this salon while looking for great places to dye my hair, my hair color is dark brown and I wanted to get it done red, like bright red. I set my appointment up after seeing such nice pictures of hair colors being done and everything looked wonderful at first…
When I arrived at the salon I was greeted by the person who was going to do my hair, I told her what I wanted and I would not accept any less seeing as a couple years back I went to a school (where they teach the beginners.) and they dyed my hair beautifully red, it was amazing. I thought I would have a great experience here as well since the lady told me she’s been doing hair for a long time.
As I sat down, she kept insisting that I go for a darker red, since the red I wanted wouldn’t match my skin tone and look as good on my hair/​skin. I got offended and told her if she couldn’t do it red, I’ll leave. But, she insisted that she could and laughed it off but after the bleaching which took like two different bleaches since she didn’t get it right on my hair, she applied the color.
IT WAS TERRIBLE, WORST COLOR IVE EVER SEEN. She left patches on the back of my hair and then tried to curl it really badly, the red wasn’t even red it came out pink/​salmon color thing. I ended up paying $ 160 for the most awful job ever, she told me to come back in a week to fix it. I came back and the next color was a toned down darker red that helped cover the patches she left behind on my hair.
Overall it wasn’t worth it, if you can’t do a hair color then just say it to the client.
I ended up dying my own hair since the 2^nd color she put faded in less than three days although I didn’t wash my hair since she told me not to.
DONT GET YOUR HAIR COLORED HERE!!!

I have been going to Dinah at Urban Colorz for years and have always walked out of there absolutely loving my hair! She is great at helping me figure out what I want to do with my hair and manages to know exactly what I’m talking about when I attempt to describe what I’m thinking. She makes great suggestions and has a vision for what looks best on people. I highly recommend her!

Really wasn’t impressed with the cut. I had no idea there would be such a vast difference in interpretation in the same photo. I felt like she was just hacking away. It turned out ok but was not thrilled. I most definitely did not leave there feeling like I got what I wanted. My stylist was also trying to force me into coloring my hair which I was not comfortable with. I also don’t know how she can say I have grey hairs when the stylist before said I had none. I feel she was trying to pressure me into color. The place as a whole is cute but I’m not planning on returning based on the pressure and lack of style I expected.

This was the first time for me visiting Urban Colorz Salon as I am new to the area. It was a great experience. Everyone was friendly. Mandy cut my hair and did a great job! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she knew exactly what I was looking for. Even today, the day after my hair cut, my hair looks great and I am still excited about how the cut turned out. I plan to return to UC in the future for all of my hair needs.

TAYLOR is the best. I have been her client for 6+ yrs and she’s never disappointed me. I highly recommend her!!!

My girlfriend wanted to get her haircut, so I decided I would take it upon myself to find her a salon to cut her hair that was close by. I’ve never heard of or been to urban colorz before, but I only have great things to say about this place.
Sone was the hair stylist that cut her hair and did a fantastic job. Sone was extremely friendly and accommodating in making sure my girlfriend got the haircut she envisioned. She really took her time and explained what she was doing throughout the haircut. It’s almost like she knew what my girlfriend wanted before she even got there. The price was great and I would’ve paid more for all the work Sone put in. My girlfriend was extremely happy with the finished cut and will be going here from now on.

Sorry to say I had the worst haircut I have had in ages! Soon did not listen to what I wanted as she was too busy talking. Now don’t get me wrong, I like conversations just as much as the next person but concentrate on what you are doing. I only wanted 1inch taken off. Not only was more that 1in taken off the whole left side of my head did NOT match the right in length or layers. I color is ok as it was taken back to my natural color. I have had to find another stylist to fix what she could as I absolutely did NOT want to go back to SOON as was terrified what I would end up with.
Recommend? No.

I used to be a hair stylist so when it comes to my hair, I’m super picky. I’ve been to high end places, low end etc. I’m those people that if I find someone I like, I stay with them forever. I have been going to Urban Colorz to Allie for over 8 years and wouldn’t trade her for the world. She always works with my crazy schedule and I trust her completely with my hair. She listens to what I want, consults, double checks on what I want and always make my hair look like a million bucks! I have referred quite a bit of people to her and they all have been satisfied with her. I’m always careful to recommend hairstylist to people but I have my full trust in Allie to make anyone’s hair look good!

I have been going to Dinah at Urban Colorz for 8+ years! I have always been 100% satisfied with the services I have received and the great customer service. I always get the cut that I am looking for and the color that is perfect! Also, I just used the online booking and it is very easy to use! I have referred many friends to Dinah and I encourage you to go to her too! You will not be disappointed!

Sone gave the most amazing haircut and showed me 3 styles at the end to do with my new look. She is the best!

I was not happy with a cut & color that I received from Allie. I asked for someone who specializes in cutting curly hair. Allie told me that she has cut curly hair for awhile. After she washed my hair by vigorously rubbing the ends together — I had one huge dread lock. She didn’t even have a wide toothed comb. She was really rough on my scalp which was sore three days after I went to see Allie. The highlights that she put in were clumpy, uneven, and the color did not blend well into my hair. I was also less than satisfied from her hair cut. I don’t know what kind of highlighting chemicals she used on my hair but now it feels like felt. I am so disappointed in how my hair turned out.

I had Katie do my hair for the first time yesterday and its very cute. I am very picky as I have been in the beauty industry for about 35 years and have seen a lot of poor work.
My sister is a stylist and has done my hair for years but lately we have trouble finding time. Katie really listened to me when I described what I wanted and didn’t want. I had a weave and cut. The salon is clean AND Katie works on Sundays!

Extremely happy with my first experience with Urban Colorz. The lady who cut and shaped my hair, Sun. I explained to her what I wanted and said «I’m in your hands.» She trimmed, thinned and shaped my oh so thick hair. She made me feel at ease. :) I left smiling which is to say a lot for a hair salon. Having thick hair, it’s difficult to find hair stylists that take the time to give me a nice shaped cut. Sun also massaged my scalp while washing my hair. This is something I miss that my stylist did for me while living in Japan.

Dinah is the best! She has cut and colored my hair for 4 years.
She has never asked to reschedule and always works me in if needed. She’s very personable and professional.
I highly recommend Dinah.

I’ve never been one to stick with a salon or stylist for more than a couple visits… Until now!
I walked in with hair to my waist, and left with hair above my ear. Was a huge change and Taylor did an AMAZING job with the cut and color. I actually feel comfortable in this salon and know that Taylor will give me her honest opinion when it comes to changes I’m thinking of making. I appreciate that, because that’s what keeps me coming back and also sending others to see her as well.
