History

Established in 1984.

Nearly 30 years ago, Bill Baldwin co-​founded HartmanBaldwin Design/​Build, a fully integrated Architecture, Construction and Interior Design company specializing in high-​end remodels, additions, historic restorations and new custom homes for highly discerning individuals that are passionate about their home and lifestyle.

We have received numerous local and national awards for design/​build excellence including the Gold Nugget award from the Pacific Coast Building Conference and The Grand Prize Design award from Remodeling Magazine. We’ve also been featured on HGTV’s Restore America.

Business Owner

Bill Baldwin is a certified Green Building Professional. His staff consists of LEED accredited Architects, Project Managers and Craftsmen. The firm is a certified provider of Home Performance with Energy Star (HPwES); certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and the California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA); and is a member of Architecture 2030. All of these activities and credentials reflect the cradle-​to-​cradle orientation of sustainability that Bill Baldwin and his team embody: when we reuse, plan carefully and give real thought to our impact, we plant the seeds for a brighter — and greener — future.

Bill has always kept sustainability at the forefront of his practice. The knowledge that architects and builders are at the epicenter of what happens next in our world — since buildings are the largest consumers of energy and radically impact our environment — fuels Bill’s pursuit of best building practices.
