I Like Pie Bakeshop

I love this place so much!
Their pies are so yummy and adorable. They come in perfect one-​serving sizes, and they have a good amount of choices to choose from. The only thing I can say is that the pies are a little pricey, especially for the size of them, but they are still so delicious!

Amazing quality pies. They have a different menu every season, they’re small and pricey but worth it!
Amazing service, I’ve never experience anything unpleasant throughout my visits and they’re always friendly.

We always enjoy coming here for a quick dessert pie. The Mixed Berry pie is always good and make sure to ask for them to heat it up a bit. Tried the Strawberry Rhubarb pie and it was delicious. The service is always great.

Perfectly sized pies! And delicious! A little on the pricey side compared to other desserts the pies do taste good! Recommend the rhubarb custard pie, key lime pie, and banana cream pie! So yum!

I Like Pie should be called I Love Pie because wow — every bite was delicious! We tried the mixed berry, key lime, banana cream, rhubarb custard and apple and every bite was so good we couldn’t stop until the box was empty. The pie crust was flaky, buttery but didn’t overwhelm the fillings which were all fresh and not too sweet. Definitely some of the best pies I’ve tasted. And their mini sizes help you feel better about how many bites you’ll want to take ;)

This place was Amazing. It’s a little bake shop but it has so much to offer. I had the key lime, banana cream and chocolate sin– and each one was delicious. The key lime pie was my favorite. It had a thick graham cracker crust and was filled with deliciously tart key lime filling. The whipped cream on top was perfectly sweet as well.

Craving desserts? This is the place to be! I usually don’t eat pie because it’s too sweet from all the filling but I like pie has the best pies not too sweet for me. I tried their mixed berry and strawberry shortcake both very delish! The two ladies who were working there were very kind and humorous. Explaining the pie very well. The vanilla ice cream is a must with the pies! You’ll miss out without it! I took off a star because the some of the pies are hard on the outside and it’s hard to eat them with a plastic fork. My fork broke after trying to dig into the pie. But overall I love this place! Even eating outside is beautiful! Definitely will be back for more!

First time here… cute small bakery shop with wonderfully displayed individual pies. The staff was really friendly and took the time to tell us about the pies they had which also included vegan pies. I am not a huge pie eater but everything looked and smelled delightful.
The Strawberry Rhubarb was the pick of the night and it was heaven. The crust was very light and airy which I enjoyed and the strawberry filling warm and not too sweet, the simple taste of fresh strawberries. It was an exciting first time experience and I will definitely return to try something new.

Delicious! The small sized pies look deceptively too small for one person, but it’s actually perfect! The large size is shareable. The pies are are on the more expensive end, but you can tell from the presentation and taste that they are carefully crafted! I’ve been here multiple times, tried a half dozen different pies, and loved them all! Strawberry rhubarb was a favorite (and I can’t say I typically care of rhubarb)! This place is a gem!

I’ve been dying to try this place and I finally did… it was everything I expected, pretty bomb. The rhubarb custard was incredible, the Lemon buttermilk tasted like an amazing lemon bar, and the chocolate chip chess was just like cookie dough! You do get what you pay for, so it’s pricey but worth it.
I’ll be back to try the Dutch apple or chocolate chip chess with their Dr. Bob’s Ice cream!

I thought pies have to come in slices but then I come here and they are in the shape of a cupcake. The shop is pretty cute. I like how the «pies» are in their own little cup. I ordered the key lime pie because I was not familiar with any of the other flavors though I did try a sample of their strawberry rhubarb that was also pretty good. They also have free wifi for those that want to sit outside the shop and study. Neat area.

The strawberry rhubarb (left) was tasty. Very strong strawberry taste, which is good if you love strawberries but it overpowers the crumble part so it’s basically a whole lot of tart strawberry filling. The inside of pie consist of big chunks of strawberries mixed in with the filling, mine had about to chunks. Texture is adequate. While the pie was enjoyable, not my favorite so far.
The Dutch Apple (middle) excelled expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by this pie when I first dove into it. The toppings on top of the pie taste amazing and go excellent when mixed the apples and the filling on the inside. This pie reminds me a lot of apple crisp, but in a smaller form. I recommend this pie if you like apples and/​or enjoying life.
The scoop of vanilla custard (left) was phenomenal, was very smooth whilst still firm. Went very good with the Dutch Apple (not so much with the rhubarb). An excellent scoop of ice, a step above your typical vanilla.

Cute little pie shop in Claremont! They have a good selection of pies from both sweet and savory.
Hubby and I shared the «large» strawberry short cake. Then pies are individual sized. They are cylindrical walls of crust with filling inside. Ours was pretty spot on with tasting like the old school mr good bar strawberry shortcake ice cream. Crust is very buttery and delightful and the vanilla cream and strawberry filling was great as well.
My only would be the pricing, the pies are pretty small so for how big they are seemed pretty expensive

We went to I Like Pie for a lunch desert. This is a nice little gem that is not easy to find but when you do, it is worth it.
It is a small establishment that bakes fresh pies. I saw mostly small and medium pies. The crusts on all were cooked to perfection with a dusting of sugar. You can get them warmed up, however be warmed, depending on the pie, it may turn into a pudding on you.
We had the Strawberry and it tasted like a home baked pie. Even though they are small, they are very well made. They are on the higher end in price for what you get, however, fresh is worth it and you cannot get it much fresher.
I would recommend everyone trying this if you are in the neighborhood. It is situated in a nice quaint breezeway area in what looks like a portion of old town Claremont.

The reason I’m updating my review is because of the appalling service that I encountered during my most recent visit (03÷06÷16) around 4/​5PM. Honestly paying $ 8 for a mini pie is already a stretch, but their pies are delectable so I still support this shop. So really throwing terrible service on top of that makes me even more hesitant of whether it’s worth my time to go out of my way to Claremont to buy their pies.
By the time I got to the shop almost half the pies were gone, so really there wasn’t much of a selection. Was trying to figure out what I wanted to order when both of the employees were literally crying with laughter? Honestly you have one job– SERVE the customer. It wasn’t even busy and I couldn’t even get my order in without the two giggling and going to the back because whatever it is they were talking about was just so hilarious. It’s not like this is some high end shop so I’m not expecting any five star service, but come on. Can’t even take in an order with a straight face is just ridiculous.

Located in a plaza that cannot be seen from the street, that includes a movie theater and Loving Hut. There is plenty of outdoor seating in case you want to bring your 4 legged friend (s).
When I came to eat at Loving Hut, Thursday, Sept 3, I saw this business’ sign (I Like Pie) and said to myself, «yea I do too» and made a mental note of stopping by after lunch.
Well when I came over, I was a little disappointed with the prices, as these pies run from $ 5-​$ 8. And the size of these pies are rather small. But since I was already here, figured I would just purchase two pies to take home and share with my family. I ended up getting:
Large Banana Cream, $ 7.29 prior to tax– I love banana cream pie and would have to say that is probably my favorite pie. This pie was pretty good and I thought the vanilla wafer on top was a nice show piece. Although this pie is small, it was still pretty filling and plenty for 2 people to share. It had everything you would except in a banana cream pie. The pudding was spot on and the slices of banana just made it that much better (some people are real stingy with their banana slices but not here). The crust was pretty good.
Large Peach Raspberry, $ 6.99 prior to tax– The employee who helped me told me this was rather popular for the summer season. But I wasn’t a big fan of it. I thought the raspberries were making this pie a bit too tart and would have liked it to be a little bit sweeter. But just like the banana cream pie, the crust was good and the portion is a fair amount for 2 to share.

So although these pies are good, the price just is not justified. The day I brought these home, my husband and I ended up going to Costco that evening to restock our everyday needs (toilet paper, paper towels, etc). And we saw this huge fruit tart that was actually cheaper than what I paid for these pies and ended up buying it (what can I say? No one can compete with Costco and Costco always seems to bring out the compulsive buyer in all of us). And that fruit tart was delicious (and pretty much gone in a few short days… people in my house love sweets).
I honestly don’t see myself coming back here because of the prices.
By the way, your (free) parking options include street and in a parking structure very close to this plaza.
There is also a unisex restroom (clean upon this visit) and free WiFi. There is also 2 small tables inside in case it’s too hot to sit outside (but there are plenty of shaded tables to sit at though).

I love this place! They have a variety of mini pies that all taste really good. I tried six so far and I fell in love with all of them. The crust, the filling, the perfect addition of ice cream, EVERYTHING! I saw the pictures and reviews on Unilocal and boy did this place really live up to my expectations. They even have some vegan choices which are pretty cool and also taste delish! My favorite pie so far is the hot fudge brownie pie with the salted caramel toffee ice cream on the side. Absolutely mouthwatering!
It does sadden me how they only have certain pies during certain seasons though. But Fall season’s coming up and I can’t wait to see what new pie selections they’re going to be featuring. Five stars for me this place is as good as it gets!

I like their light but crumbly pie crust! I didn’t find a pie flavor I loved on this visit but with this crust I’m sure there’s one for me

«That’s my pie…» — Revenge of the Nerds, 1984…
I was going to ding these guys for being so expensive but we pay crazy prices for «artisan» things like cupcakes, macarons, and coffee too so wth. I love a good savory chicken pot pie and the ones at I Like Pie are up to snuff. The reason why they’re so good is that they do an excellent job with the crust, buttery and flaky, but not too crumbly. The filling is comprised of white meat chunks of chicken, mirepoix, peas, and a creamy herb sauce. At first I didn’t think that the 10oz portion would fill me, especially if you’re used to having the pot pies at Marie Callender’s which are more sizable by comparison, but these pies are delicious and satisfying on their own…
I’ve actually had their pot pie a couple of times, the first time during the «pi» day celebration on 3−14−15 when they had a local booth setup nearby. It was then that I learned of their brick-​and-​mortar store in the same plaza as the Laemmle’s Claremont 5 next to LPQ, and it was crazy busy that day. On a more calm day, you can enjoy a nice savory pie for lunch as I did while contemplating some of their other goodies. On pie day I remember trying a slice of key lime pie and a mixed berry hand pie similar to a Dolly Madison pie from the grocery but way better in taste and quality. They change up to use what’s seasonal so you have to check to see what they’re featuring at any given time. What they do have all the time is that they carry a couple of flavors of Dr. Bobs ice cream that would make an awesome sidecar to any dessert, but then again they had me at pot pie…
I still like the ubiquitous Marie Calender’s pies but I will stop by every now and then to enjoy something here…
