Jamie was in the mood for Italian, so we decided to try this cute little bistro with our mom. There’s a small parking lot in back, and maybe a dozen tables to sit at inside. You can get a slice to go. I’d like to try their pizza, wings, and subs sometime. Everyone working here was super friendly! We ordered the lasagna and chicken parm to share, and mom got linguine bolognese. The dinners come with garlic knots that are AMAZING!!! I got minestrone soup(nothing special, but okay), mom got a side salad(also nothing special, but okay. The chicken parm was damn amazing. A huge piece of chicken, breaded and fried. The sauce is a bit sweet but was very smooth and flavorful. I liked it! I got the fettuccine Alfredo on the side and it was decent. The lasagna… There was a taste to it that I didn’t care for… Kind of reminded me of vinegar peppers in the jar, so maybe bitter, vinegar taste? But the texture was great. I wouldn’t order that again. I’d be back for the chicken parm and garlic knots all the way! The prices were really decent. And service like I said was friendly. Cute place!

Best Italian food I’ve had in a LONG time! Normally I don’t go nuts over chicken parm, but theirs is exceptional. Can’t wait to go back!

Great place for dinner. This staff really treats you well and real Italians cooking Italian food. It doesn’t get better than that. My new regular stop.

My husband had been wanting to give this place a try since it opened. There are always many cars parked on the street and in the lot, seemed like a good sign so tonight was the night. We arrived arrived at 6 and were seated right away. For a smaller venue they have a good amount of seating. The menu’s are on the table so we started browsing the selections. The waitress came over within a few minutes and took our order. I usually order chicken Parmesan when we go out for Italian but tonight I just wasn’t feeling a huge dinner. I decided to order Penne ala Toscana dish that is described as Penne pasta with a garlic and tomato sauce with grilled chicken. My husband took the waitresses recommendation and went with the lasagna. All the entrees come with either soup or salad. We both chose the salads. I requested balsamic dressing and my husband ordered french. The salads came about 5 minutes after ordering and was just enough of a portion, dressed with shredded carrots and sliced cucumbers. The waitress also brought out 2 of their homemade garlic bread knots, they were covered in garlic butter and Parmesan cheese! Delish!!! Our entrees came out about 10 – 15 minutes later. My husbands lasanga looked yummy with just the right amount of melted mozzarella on it! I sampled it and was very impressed with the sauce(I’m rather picky with my red sauces), it had great flavor and the cheese was so warm and gooey :) I then tasted my dish. Not as happy as I was with lasagna I’m sad to say. First off not to be to picky but the pasta was rigatoni and not penne. Then there is the sauce, on the menu its described as a garlic tomato sauce — I’m not sure what type of sauce it is but its definitely not a tomato sauce, if I had to guess, I would go with a red pepper type sauce. Now I love red pepper flavor but there was something else in this«sauce» that I didn’t care for. I did like the grilled chicken that was sliced nicely on top. My husband didn’t mind the sauce so he swapped dishes with me. We would give it another try and I would definitely confirm the sauce before ordering. When we return I can hopefully upgrade my review!

If you be my bodyguard, I can be your long lost pal. I can call you Roy, and Roy when you call me you can call me Al. And if we open up an Italian pace in Clarence we can call it Roy-Al. What to get: Lasagne. I tried this place as a take-away dinner right when it first opened, which was not long ago. I had to try it since all the people I live with were excited about it — it’s so close to my house you could walk to it. Since writing this review I have tried the Bruscetta(ok) and the Tiramisu dessert(good). Nice work. I was torn between 4 and 5 but it really has to be a 5 because. (1) Good prices. Better than a lot of Italian in the area price-wise. (2) Good Lasagne. A little sweet but huge portion, nice and wet, loved it. (3) Good Chicken Parm. Not my fave in the area but big portion and very nice. (4) Pretty good Garlic Bread. (5) Pizza slice was just ok and a bit dry but let’s pretend I didn’t try it. (6) Everything was piping hot when picked up, I don’t like lukewarm food. (7) Not much good Italian in Clarence despite what others say… I drive to Lockport or Lackawanna for Italian. Nice to have a good one here. Plus it’s family owned and delicious. I recommend the Lasagne, my house mates recommend the Chick Parm. i was thinking of opening up an Italian place around here with this girl from New Zealand that I know. I was like«so are we gonna be a bit like Royal?» And she was like«We’ll never be Royal.» I was like… oh Lord. She’s rich though so then I was like, oh Lord won’t you buy me a Mercedez Benz?

It’s impossible to award five stars sometimes but in this case I would — just for effort. Imagine a typical opening weekend for any new venue: mixed orders, staff tripping over each other, running out of some menu items, the staff with their heads on a swivel. Well all these happened tonight as you might expect BUT… Through it all the sense of kindness, respect, teamwork and especially family emerged and made Royal Pizza & Italian Bistro shine. I sampled the Linguini alla Pescatore, a personal-sized Spinach and Ricotta pizza, the Cesaer Salad and their garlic knots and — considering the chaos of opening weekend — it was worth coming in for. I’ll be back again to see their much anticipated success. Like my Nonna used to say: Mangia everybody!
