FL Crooks

This store is a gem! On occasional visits to see family in Clarion I always try to stop into the store to fill a few needs. The experience is always excellent.
I live in the Twin Cities within a few minutes of the Mall of America and some best shopping anywhere in the world, but my visits to FL Crooks always yield just the right thing.
Just last month, I found a pair of jeans for a great price that I couldn’t find in a year of shopping in Minnesota. Also, Darla, in the women’s store, helped me find a gift –an Ibex sweater vest– for my mother-​in-​law. It was the perfect advice.

I made a purchase of a pair of Birkenstock sandals (Milano style) almost a month ago from F.L. Crooks & Co. I am very glad to have bought them from their online store because they give all the help and assistance that a customer needs before they finally send the merchandise to make sure that there will be no mistakes with the order.
From now on I know where to buy all my Birkenstock sandals!

If you’re looking to spend good money on good clothes, this is the place to do it. Crooks has the latest in fashion in the Clarion area, is priced like New York. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

This store has been owned by the same family for over 100 years. The owners take pride in their business and in the community. They have fabulous workers in both the Men’s Store and the Women’s Treehouse. You’ll always feel welcomed by the employees, and they would be more than happy to help you find any item you’re looking for or to share information about the different clothing lines that are carried in the store. It’s also the nicest store that you will find in the area. It carries a variety of clothing lines that cater to many different people and styles. It’s a great store so stop in if you get the chance.

Great store, I have known the owner for years. This place has been in business for over 100 years. Some people probably have a hard time using the web… and that’s cool. I have never had any problems buying anything here, and the staff are always courteous and helpful. I just bought an Italian cut suit for $ 100.00 which was totally awesome. I recommend this store for anyone looking for good pricing on clothing.

As their name suggests: they are crooks! BEWARE!
I was searching for a particular style of Levi jean and found this website. Looked like they had what I was looking for. To be sure, I emailed the company to verify the shade of jean they listed & pictured. Their customer service woman Lydia promptly called me & verified the shade & style I wanted was correct and that they carried it. I ordered the jeans, when they arrived, found they were NOT what the website had described; nor was the color of the jeans as they were pictured.
I called Lydia, she apologized and said (…verbally.) she would issue a credit and also reimburse me for the return shipping charges. I thought that was fair so I sent the merchandise back and shortly received an email stating they were issuing me a credit which amounted to the price of clothing & tax only. NO credit for either of the shipping charges!
I called Lydia, she told me in a curt manner that she had done some «research» through the Levi’s catalog and found that what they had sent me was correct «per the Levi’s catalog» (NOT their website, thus not taking responsibilty for poor IT) and that she would not issue me a credit for shipping charges. A complete 180 from our previous phone conversation!
She said the Levi jean was correctly listed on their website. I told her the website had ‘since been changed’ to correctly list the «Levi Catalog description» which was NOT what my FLCrooks e-​receipt showed, nor the confirmation email I received after I purchased the merchandise described. BOTH emails listed a different description than their updated website.
As an effort of «goodwill» she offered me a 15% discount on a future FLCrooks purchase! She knew full well & good I would NEVER shop with them again, which I won’t!
