Established in 1980.

Clean Sweeps of Michigan was opened by a fire fighter with the understanding that fireplaces were a hazzard and there were no standards to properly clean and inspect fireplaces. From that point we have continued to bring peace of mind to your hearth by providing an excellant service. We hire well qualified trained technitians who’s first job is to take care of you. Clean Sweeps was awesome! They did both a cleaning of my HVAC system and completely brought back to life an old wood burning beautiful fireplace covered up by a gas insert. The owner went above and beyond in his service.

I found a coupon for $ 20 off chimney cleaning and inspection in our local circular. I called and set up an appointment without any problems. On the day of the appointment, the technician (arrived on time) politely asked who installed our wood insert and when I told him who he said that they were a good company and that he shouldn’t have any problem. He did a good job! Cleaned up after himself and was quiet. He did comment on some work on our chimney that should be addressed in the near future and said he would send a quote if I wanted it. No pressure what so ever. I would recommend this company.

My fireplace was schedule to get repaired on May 12th, 2015. They did not even contact me to get access to my house by May 11th, 2015, which made me confused. Then I called them in the afternoon of May 11th and got an answer that they had to delay it. That was pretty surprised because I never got any call or email saying they had to delay. Now, 10 days after May 12th. I have not received any update from them so I called them again and got an answer saying they do not know when they are going to do the repair. To be fair, I give them one star although they deserve zero star. I do not know how good or how bad their repair job is because they have not done yet. I hope I can get it done before this year is over. Who knows.

LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE! They completed a fireplace insert for us… What we were told would be a 2 day process took over 3 months. This included failed inspections, broken parts, and delays upon delays. Between my wife and I we missed or left work early a total of 9 times. Each time we received an apology and expected things to be fixed and they weren’t. We each have a defined understanding of what it takes to pass inspections, which clean sweeps DOES NOT. To date, we spent over 4,000 dollars and have an insert that has a scratch on the front plate, and sits somewhat uneven… We were told this would be fixed, that was 4 months ago. We just got a call that our chimney needed crowning work, which we paid for and had completed last year, and they told us it needs about 1 thousand dollars of more work…

They force you to by the insert through them and they only allow you to choose from two companies (Yodel and Regency). They are making their money off jacking up the material prices rather than providing good quality services.
