We arrived to the restaurant in the rain on a Thursday night right before 8 pm. There was only one other table there and the looks we got were not great. But we were hungry and the menu we saw at our hotel looked good so we stayed. We got the menu and it was considerably smaller than what we saw originally. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the catfish. I was then told they were out of salmon so I got the bacon wrapped chicken. It came with biscuits that were tasty, a side salad that was okay and a baked potatoe that could have been baked longer. The meal was ok. Nothing amazing but filling. It is almost like they are trying too hard to be fancy… I also ordered an iced tea but totally forgot that it would be a sweet tea, which was my own dumb fault. I don’t have sugar in my tea ever and up home they don’t serve it that way. My biggest issue was the service. The initial look of– oh great, we aren’t going home anytime soon. Then the poor waiting. I’ve worked in the industry. I get it, but don’t count yourself done at 8 pm! Every time the waitress came to the table she was practically rolling her eyes to us. Then she sat at the bar looking at her phone and ignoring us even when we were ready to leave. We had the bill and the credit card was waiting for her to swipe… All in all, we left before the table of four that was there before we arrived and just got attitude the whole time.

Sometimes you just need a little air-conditioned break from the Sunflower Blues Festival! After scouring Clarksdale for a good place for home grown veggies(we had a vegan w/us ;) my group of friends decided on trying the Lady. I had the blackened salmon on a bed of rice with a loaded potato and salad. My friends had the gumbo. The salmon was good, albeit a little less ‘blackened’ then you would get at most creole restaurants in the Big Easy. The Gumbo was good too, but a little more like soup, than gumbo. The honey rolls were yummy and the service was friendly.
