A group of us had our car windows tinted here. After doing plenty of research, we chose Advanced Solar based on its positive reviews on several websites. Mike and his team are very friendly and made the experience a breeze. They laser cut the film to specifically match your car, and having years of experience, install it flawlessly! The process took less than 2 hours, but I was dropped off and picked up by friendly staff members from a nearby mall so that I didn’t have to wait. The Solar Gard film they use has a nation-wide warranty, and can be fixed at any authorized dealer if there’s a defect. They also have a premium film with better heat-blocking abilities, but I didn’t feel that I needed it. Overall, excellent experience with them, and a flawless installation job! Couldn’t be happier, and highly recommend to anyone thinking of tinting their car windows.

Checked around Troy, Clawson and RO for best price and feel for tints on my VW Passat. Very glad I found Mike. Great job, product and price.

I got my car tints done here. Because I was working 9 – 6 or 8 – 5 in Ann Arbor, it was difficult for me to make it out to Clawson during business hours. Luckily, they’re available and open on some Saturdays. Just call in to see which Saturdays they have. Overall, I’m very happy with my tints. They cost me $ 200 cash, which seemed to be lowest in the local market. I’ve had the tints since July and they seem to be holding up very well. They tell us not to use/roll down our windows for 48 hours after installation, and that it would take 2 – 3 days for any lingering bubbles to go away. I noticed a few bubbles that went away after 3ish days, and a couple others that went away after a few weeks. Either way, if you’re not satisfied with their product, they’d be willing to redo them… lifetime warranty. Mike was the guy who installed mine. Very friendly dude. You could wait around and watch him install the film, or you could come back in about 90 minutes. He’d just give you a call when it’s almost ready. I went to Royal Oak to get a quick bite and it worked out in a very timely manner. You have the option of different intensity of tint films. The higher the number, the more light can pass through the window(i.e. a 35% intensity film would be darker than a 50% intensity film). In my photo, I have 50% in the front and 35% in the back(of note: a limo uses 5% film). My last thing to note is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. While the quality of work seem to be very good, I was displeased with the residual mess that was left in the inside of my car. The solution they used to spray down the windows before applying the film leaked and seemed to get on various areas of my car. You could see the residual lines, streaks and drops running down on the inside of my doors just under the windows, the seats, etc. I have leather seats so the stain kind of lingered/discolored the black leather a little bit. It’s annoying that it happened, but it’s most annoying that despite what I try to wipe it off with, the leather damage seems to be un-fixable(unless I’m not cleansing it right…). The ones on the doors were able to come off with some elbow grease. Overall, I’d recommend this service to anyone who was seeking window tints. Just for the business itself, I’d probably suggest they’re more careful as to where their solution leaks as to care for their customer’s property.
