Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

Never in my life have I seen a business brimming with the incompetence that this PEP BOYS has. Not just the employees but the management as well. I have been screwed by this Clayton nc location twice now. There won’t be a third.
The first time they changed the wrong tire. Then today 12−30−15 I called about a tire. They assured me they were in stock and I could get one installed immediately. I get there and they say it will be about 30 minutes and tried to sell me an extra tire I didn’t want. After waiting an hour (the manager called me a liar on this even though I was there before he got there) they tell me I can’t have the tires. They are for someone else. They said they could order them or I could drive to the store and pick them up myself. I asked why couldn’t they put one on my truck and they go to the other store and get another tire since its not that far and I didn’t want to drive with a bad tire. They said no. Luckily JUST TIRES is right across the street. I went there and got a GOODYEAR installed for only $ 10 more than PEP BOYS wanted for a DAKOTA DAFINITY. 20 minutes later I was on my way. I would still be waiting at PEP BOYS

I have been doing business with this store for the past year. All associates are very friendly and willing to try to help. For years I have been trying to find a shop that I can trust. Finally found one. I will continue to use these guys as long as I am in the area.
They are not always as cheap as I would like. But then again you get what you pay for.

I have been a pepboys customer for two years now, and I would not service my vehicle anywhere else. Andrew the service manager is the most outstanding person I ever met. Greg, Gregory, and all the staff are amazing! Why go anywhere else! I love my pepboys at Clayton.

I am in the trucking industry so the easy everyday stuff is never an issue. Until something as stupid as low tire air pressure sensor goes on and every air hose you stop at is frozen due to crazy NC weather. $ 3.00 in machines with bad air lines– reminder to service stations– if you just take hose off at night– this wont happen.
I had service done on my car and its near work so i swung by to see if they would just charge me to check air pressure — aka– give me some air.
Manager who has been there for last 2 visits was — no problem– stopped one of his techs working on a customer who was already there’s car, sends him out to grab my car, tells me he is checking tires to be sure they are debris free, fills them and then says «no charge» — the lost art of customer service !!!
This place has my business — permanently and this was top notch service– especially knowing that with the weather — there is a line a mile long for his business today.
Also we have 3 other cars that because of their service that work for me have started going there in the last month.

I’ve had minor maintenance work done on my car at this location on a couple occasions (oil changes, tire rotations, coolant flushes etc…) Their prices for minor services are comparable (and sometimes cheaper) to what my regular mechanic charges; plus they’re open on the weekends, so it’s pretty convenient. The store is pretty new, so the waiting area and parking lot are clean, and the employees are very friendly. The only knock that I have on it is that it’s not a traditional Pep Boys and there is no actual store section. Their layout is similar to that of an NTB or Discount Tire. Would I get major work done here? Probably not, but I definitely trust them to do the aforementioned maintenance.
