History
Established in 2011.
I like to describe Zumba as Aerobics to Latin Music. But it’s so much more than that. Zumba was started accidentally in 2001 by Beto Perez. He was a fitness instructor who forgot his regular fitness music one day and improvised the class with his personal collection of Latin music. And the rest as they say, is history. You can read the story in detail at zumba.com.

I love Zumba! Join me and you will learn to love it too, especially after you see how it benefits your mind and body. What is Zumba? It’s a great cardio workout disguised as an hour long Latin dance party! If you are tired of the run of the mill cardio, this is just what you need to get out of that rut.
One of the misconceptions people have about Zumba is that you need to be able to dance. No dance experience is necessary! It’s not really about learning the steps or routines perfectly. It’s about moving, burning calories and having fun while you get in shape!
I have never liked to exercise but when I found Zumba, I ended up taking up to 11 classes per week, losing 35 pounds and keeping it off!
I fell in love with Zumba because of the Latin music. In my style of Zumba, I like to play salsa, merengue, cha-cha-cha, quebraditas and you will also find some oldies but goodies. You will be right at home, whether it’s your very first class or you have been doing Zumba for years!
