Oh my! Fries and shakes to DIE for!!! Hot and fresh fries… tried to take my time to eat them over the pass… even on the cold side tasted like POTATOES! Cherry shake, banana malt… definitely stopping for buyers and a toasted cheese next time!

Normally love me some local hamburger joint… but Twin Pines Drive In is pretty nasty. First of all(and all burger joints should take note here) STOPWITHTHELIQUIDSMOKE. You’re not fooling anyone. If you don’t have a char-broiler don’t try and fake it with a chemical substitute! Second… what’s with the frigging relish fry sauce. Fry sauce should be pure(ketchup, mayo, W-sauce and tapitio). Anyhow… I guess some like pickles with their fries. Who am I to judge. The prices were high… $ 3 fries. $ 4.15 for a small chemically altered burger. But…I did love the building. Great potential for a really good burger joint. If only it was. Missed opportunities. Keep eating local!

Don’t stop here if you don’t have time to kill. Took is about 40 mins to get 2 burgers with fries and a milkshake. Food was decent; nothing special.

Driven by it a thousand times so decided to try it out. Burgers were great, cooked to order and actually taste like food! I won’t touch any national chain FF restaurant, so I don’t have burgers very often. Well worth the stop. The fries are the thin shoe string type, and a little greasy for my tastes, but that’s not to say you won’t like them. After reading the other reviews I wish I had tried a milk shake. Oh and by the way, the ladies working there were super friendly! Great Customer Service! Thank you!

Classic American drive-in burger joint: great burgers, fries, shakes, etc. This place gets BUSY in the summertime, and everything is made to order so expect to wait a bit. On my most recent visit I ordered a BBQ burger(¼ hamburger patty with BBQ sauce and grilled onions; $ 4.90), fries($ 2.85), and a shake($ 3.80; additional flavor +$ 0.50). I had a difficult time trying to decide on one of the many milkshake flavors, so I asked the cashier to recommend one. She said that both the marshmallow and chocolate were very good, and that combining flavors was an option. So I had a choco-mallow shake, which was a first :-) Service was friendly, the food only took about 10 minutes or so to come out(fresh and hot!), and everything was really tasty. There is an indoor dining area available, but on a gorgeous sunny June day we took advantage of one of the many picnic tables to enjoy our meal. Tip: if you don’t see any space at the picnic tables in the front, try walking around behind the building. There are a bunch more tables back there in a nice park-like setting. Another tip: this place is CASHONLY(ATM on site). Good stuff!

Terrible, will not go back. $ 5.50 cheeseburger is basically the same nasty frozen patty you get at McDonalds for 99¢. Condiments cost money, they don’t take cards but have an ATM they will gouge you on the withdrawal fee with, no refills on the sodas, everything about this place feels like a ripoff.

Apparently condiments must be killing their bottom line. Salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard… All behind the counter, in individual little plastic cups that you have to ask for. I didn’t think much of it until the lady behind the counter scowled at me when I had the audacity to ask for TWO little cups of ketchup. You would think I was asking for her personal property. Not sure if they charge extra for it, but based on the reaction I got, I would say yes. Ordered a plain burger which comes with 2 condiments(more than that costs extra). The burger was just okay. Had side of onion rings. They were frozen standard, nothing special. Son had a «Deluxe burger» which is the plain burger with all the condiments but you don’t getter charged extra(except it costs like a buck fifty more than the plain burger). Again, it was just okay per our son. Fries were okay. Fry sauce was a little different. Kind of smoky tasting(good). Service was kind of slow but not too bad. The place was pretty clean. Décor is basic Drive-In if that’s what you’re looking for. I guess I’m a bit disappointed. The Unilocal reviews were great. It looked like it had potential. In the end it appears that they are pinching every last penny out of everything. I know they are in business to make money, but keeping a 3 lock box on the condiments and giving grumpy looks when a person asks for them are NOT going to secure the business financially if that’s their intent. In the future I will go down the road a mile or so, and give my business to another place. Twin Pines just isn’t that great.

Cute little burger joint with a fun and lively staff. There are tons of places to sit– Picnic tables in the front, inside, and a lovely little backyard too. The staff are talkative and friendly young teens and helpful attentive adults. It feels like such a supportive and pure community. OH! and the burgers and shakes are good too~! ;)

This place is a good, roadside burger kind of place. Burger was GOOOOD — Fries were great. Very divey — very roadside. Don’t expect much. ***however… hear this. I understand its a small, seasonal business but MOVEINTOTHENEWAGEANDSTARTACCEPTINGCREDITCARDS. Charge .25 per transaction, hell, charge 1.00 — PEOPLEWILLPAYITANDBUYMORE. Ok, so this really tells a story of a traveler who was both hungry and really wanted a strawberry shake. The sad part of this story is that I had to chose and the shake lost. I really wanted that damn shake — and if they took cards I could have got it. You cant tell me I am the only one that feels this way — Twin Pines, I promise you will make more in sales if people aren’t counting their dollars. I promise. I will go back — this is a good burger joint. Hopefully next time I have enough for that shake.

Delicious BBQ burger and fries. My husband and I loved the food. We both had the BBQ burgers he had his without onions. We both got fries he doesn’t like his as salty as I like mine so I was in heaven but he thought they were good.

My family and I love Twin Pines and make a point of stopping there to eat whenever we are driving by on road trips that take us through the Cle Elum area. It is a great burger joint that offers all you would expect: Burgers, Dogs, Corndogs, Fries, Onion Rings, Shakes, Cones, etc… you get the picture. Everything we have tried has been fantastic. The fries are the thin type and are always great. The corndogs get rave reviews from the kids and the cheeseburgers tasted fresh. It could be that we are always starving when we get there but we really like the place and it holds a bit of nostalgia for my husband and I as both of us remember going there with our parents and now we take our kids. Twin Pines is an old school burger joint right down to the fact that they only accept cash. That’s right, it’s cash only… so unless, you have cash in hand go elsewhere. They do have an ATM but last time I was there several potential patrons had to leave due to the fact it was out of order. I will say that Twin Pines is not cheap and lunch for our family of five cost us $ 40. So be warned.

4 incredibly hung-over people on a road trip see a HUGE sign saying BURGERS. of course we stopped in. At this time I could only stomach some fries(that and I don’t eat meat). The fries hit the spot for me. The guys said the burgers were good. Your typical road-side burger joint, run down in the middle of nowhere. People are friendly. Plenty of places to sit both inside and outside.

Nice drive-in environment with shaded picnic tables in the back. Hamburger patty is the thin kind that tasted like a good bulk– ordered frozen patty. With nice cornmeal dusted buns and good toppings, this burger was tasty but could be much better if they improved the meat. $ 5.49 for BBQ burger. Added the freshest ripe tomato slice.

Hidden gem. Best burgers and fries. Get the special fry sauce. Small old style drive up burger stand. Also ice cream, floats, malts, and shakes. About a dozen tables inside. Seems to always be busy but closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Maybe this place tastes better if you’re absolutely starving. We went when we were hungry, but not absolutely starving. We would have been much better going to Mickey D’s. Or BK. Or Wendy’s. Or just about any fast-food chain on earth. My BBQ burger was about $ 5. The bun tasted day-old and probably was sold as some of the cheapest buns one can get at Safeway or QFC. The beef was of very indifferent quality. It made the beef that goes in a Big Mac or a Whopper seem like Kobe beef from Japan that you’d get in a burger at John Howie or maybe Canlis in Seattle. We didn’t try the shakes. Some people say they’re good. But then again, some said these burgers were«good» as well. I doubt we’ll take the risk. By all means, patronize the fast food restaurant cluster on the other end of Cle Elum. You won’t miss anything by not going here.

We’ve driven by this place for years on our way back and forth from the Methow Valley. It’s not open in the winter, so I was happy to see it open on a recent Sunday, when I was solo, and appreciated a little break. I had the cheese burger with fries, figuring straight ahead burgers are the way to go. The burger was about ¼ pound, tasted very good. Fries were a bit disappointing. They were plenty hot, but boring tasting. Maybe store-bought shoestring? The surprise for me came when I paid; $ 7.61 for a small burger and medium sized portion of fries. I don’t do chain places, so I’m not going to compare on that level. But, for the same price, I would have had a great sandwich from the Rocking Horse in Winthrop or the Cinnamon Twisp in Twisp, both being local places we usually stop for a bite to take with us for the drive home. I will come back, as I like to support local places, but I’d feel happier about doing so if either the portions were larger or the prices about 25% lower.
