All kinds of Homemade Italian Food including Italian Sausage (Hot, Fennel, Plain, Cervellata), Pork Brascioles, Pizza, Fresh Mozzarella, Chicken Parm, Eggplant Parm, Spaghetti Pies, Rice Balls, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, and so much more. Mama will make you feel like you are in Italy, or New York and you are a part of her family. Boars Head products are used to make any kind of sub you desire. With imported proscuitto and more you can satisty all of your Italian tastebuds. Catering for any number of people from 5 to 500 or even more.

History

Established in 1980.

Mama Nunziata Bowers came from Italy to New York and eventually moved to Florida after a successful time in New York. The whole family works in the deli everyday to assure you the best quality possible. Mama has been featured on Bay News 9, ABC Action News, NBC, and with Charley Belcher on Fox 13. As well as being featured in the St Pete Times, Tampa Bay Business Journal, and in the nationally published book The Journey of Italians in America. She has done book signings, hosted cooking classes, and become a local celebrity in the Tampa Bay area spreading her love all over.

Mama came to the United States at the young age of 16 and instantly made her impact on the deli scene in New York City. The family owned multiple delis throughout New York City before moving to Florida to bring their amazing food to a whole new group of people.

Over the past 28 years of being in business, Mama has not only been a successful woman in business, but she has built unbreakable bonds with the whole community. When you walk into A&N you feel like you are a member of the family. Not to mention Mama has been become a local celebrity, starring with Charley Belcher on Fox 13 multiple times as well as being on Bay News 9, NBC, ABC Action News and being featured in the Tampa Bay Times, Tampa Bay Business Journal, Creative Loafing, and the nationally published book «The Journey of Italians in America».

Holy cow, this place is so damn amazing! As soon as you walk in you are flooded with such amazing smells that your mouth starts watering immediately. It may not look like much from the outside but PLEASE do not let the exterior keep you from trying this incredible deli!!! We had the Romeo & Juliet and the Monalisa on sesame buns. Both were super tasty, just the right amount of filling for the bread and again, such delicious flavors: PERFECT! And they make their own sausage.
BONUS: they have a mini Italian grocery inside with olives, sardines, sauces, desserts, cookies, wine. Such a cool spot!!!

A definite stop if you’re in the area. The location must stink for them, but if you take the chance and go in there– it’s amazing! I have been to Italy, and I can actually say this place is comparable. Mama and Ed go above and beyond– all the staff are so accommodating and this deli is the real deal! I can’t say enough good things. Mama is like everyone’s grandma and mom, she loves her customers and she treats everyone like family. Try the spinach manicotti and the meatballs and you won’t be disappointed, the service and food is phenomenal! I’m having them cater my wedding because they’re so yummy!

Delicious sandwiches. The sauce in the hot sand which was amazing. Can’t recommend this place enough. Check out the deserts and other special items they have around the store.
We got salads and sandwiches and it was very reasonably priced. Will definitely eat here again. Easy parking off 19.

Update: we are here again on our return drive home. These guys were awesome! They gave us extra food for the road. We got a whole pizza to take for dinner and it was amazing. Best part was when we were pulling out of the restaurant and he came running outside with a cup full of little butter packets «you can’t have bread without butter!».
I wish these guys were back home! If I’m ever back in Tamps I am coming back! Thanks!

I can’t believe I have found a piece of home here in Florida and I love this deli. I come here 3 to 4 times a week I can’t get enough of this place they have so many of my Italian favorites I don’t know what to get when I go there. Not only is the food good the but they carry a lot of Italian specially items the shelves. Don’t let US 19 get in your way find a way to get there you won’t regret it.

Fantastic! I’m relatively new to the area (from the northeast) and have been craving an Italian hero for quite some time. Read some reviews and was on my way. Went inside and it reminded me of my families shop in Brooklyn! These guys do it up the right way. I got a chicken parm sub and could only eat half. Ordered a godfather sub to take home and got a beautiful rice ball. The guy behind the counter (Tommy) let me try some prosciutto and all i can say is momma mia! If you’re looking for an authentic, old school Italian joint in Florida, this is it.

I couldn’t go on enough about how good this place is. Do not let the exterior deter you from giving it a shot. Subs are the best if you like true italian sandwiches. The pre-​made dinners are fantastic. I recommend trying the pork wrapped in strings if you like to use a crockpot. Fantastic!!! By far the best sub shop I’ve found in Clearwater.

Great quality ingredients, but the bread was sub par. I ordered the «leaning tower of pizza». Every time I bit into the sandwich, a quarter of the ingredients fall out the sandwich, because the bread is too hard.
The customer service was good, but you could tell there was manager/​employee conflict. And the server handling the sandwiches was not wearing gloves.

I went there today and got the international salad and an order of baked ziti to put in the freezer for another day. the salad and side piece of italian bread was excellant and I, m looking forward to heating up the ziti soon. I too was the lucky recipient of a slice of freshly cooked eggplant and it was great. this is a well stocked italian deli with a nice menue and selection of cheeses and meats. I, m looking forward to my next visit where I, ll try another of their tempting dishes. this place is a great asset to clearwater. the staff was friendly and eager to answer all my questions about the items in the deli that I wasnt familiar with. I definitely recommend a visit.

In town for work. Always use Unilocal to find good places to eat. Unilocal didn’t let me down and this place didn’t either! Originally from Connecticut, I miss mom and pop Italian delis/​restaurants. Had The Godfather and a tossed salad. Both were excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly too. The cook gave me a piece of eggplant that he was cooking. It was wonderful. The place is nothing impressive to look at but the food is great and fast.

What a great pleasure it is to have found this diamond in the ruff genuine and authentic italian eatery amongst the construction zone along US 19! I had their chicken parm sandwich on seeded semolina bread. The mozzarella was fresh, the chicken was tender and the guys at the counter were awesome. Will gladly recommend and come back!

I am lucky enough to work across the street from A&N where they deliver. WOOHOO!
The sandwiches are incredible and dirt cheap for the size. For $ 7 you can have two meals unless you are a glutton for punishment such as myself. This is a no frills place, just great simple food made by great people. They always make you feel like party of the family, even if you are a first time customer.
Try the Palermo or the Romeo and Juliet. You won’t be disappointed.

Really enjoyed a great homemade Eggplant Parmesan dinner for 2 tonight. The store had a great selection of Italian foods, drinks, house made soups and deserts along with deli salads, subs and a nice selection of take home and bake dinners. We just found a new way to have a good dinner without going out or some chain. Real nice people too.

This is an awesome sandwich shop!!! Totally worth getting through the US19 construction to go here for lunch. The bread is off the charts, make sure you get the seeded rolls for your sandwich.
This place isn’t gonna win any glamour awards and is not some trendy overpriced shop full of off kilter sandwich creations-​they just make a damn good sandwich.
For lunch, I highly recommend the sausage peppers on seeded bread. It’s like, $ 7? And huge. If you can eat it all, you’re probably a big old italian
bastard like me and will appreciate this place more than most.
For grab n go, I highly recommend the wheel of parmesan and oregano legonica sausage. Grill that puppy up and you’re golden.
