The JB Factory Carpet Store first opened in Canada in 1968, expanded to Seattle, Washington in 1980 and then opened in Florida in January, 2002. Purchased carpet from J B carpet in Clearwater. They left the old tack strips and most of the old padding from the previous carpet. Didn’t vacuum or cleaned up after the pathetic install. Damaged the newly painted walls and doors to the tune of seven hundred bucks. The seams look like something my grandkids could do. After 2 months they refuse to return the key to the home. After the install items came up missing. Would not even consider them at all. Has to be the worst carpet company around. Lie after lie.

My wife purchased Karastan carpeting for two bedrooms. They did not suggest installing a top-grade pad. Price was OK.
The installers were unprofessional — they were two hours late because they were given the wrong address. How do you give the wrong address from the invoice? Strike one.
They showed up in a panel truck with bald tires, filthy van interior, dents all over the van. They claimed they installed carpeting in Hollywood Florida the weekend before. Given the van’s condition, no way did they drive this vehicle. Strike two.
The best part — they were told one of the carpet installations was to be over a tile floor. They did not bring the correct tack strips! They did not have the right equipment to install the carpet against an adjacent tile floor. Strike three.
They did not vacuum the carpet one it was installed. The installers said their vacuum was not working. We then called Steve at JB who told us «this is not in the contract.» After 30 minutes on the phone, he finally agreed to have the installers vacuum when they came back to install the carpet against an adjacent tile floor. Hit by pitch (I’m out of strikes!).
Bottom line: Find a store staffed by professionals who truly want satisfied customers and won’t waste the customer’s time with so-called false directions, wrong tack strips, incomplete installation, and a manager who offers only excuses rather than do the right thing to fix the problem.

I bought a houseful of porcelain tile from JB Factory Flooring’s Sunset Point & US 19 location in Clearwater in 2012. The tile itself is fine, the salesperson was friendly and helpful, but the installation was a disaster. I had to move out of the house for two weeks for the installation, so I was expecting to be thrilled when I finally got back in. At first glance, I was pleased, but that was soon replaced by disappointment and anger. The installers poured leftover grout or mortar mixture down my garbage disposal and in my backyard, breaking the disposal and cementing a large patch of grass that had to be dug out with a shovel. There was a thick film of the mortar or grout in my stainless kitchen sink that took all my strength to scrub out with steel wool. My kitchen and bathroom cabinets were dinged repeatedly during the installation process and I still cringe when I notice those dings. One of my toilets was not reinstalled properly and immediately leaked at the bottom, so I had to hire a plumber to reseal it and replace my ruined garbage disposal.
The sales person had told me that she was sending her BEST installers. Seriously? Within the first month, the grout between tiles in my foyer starting chipping away and it has continued to disintegrate there and in other spots, leaving the floors looking like they were installed years ago. I now plan to contact another tile installer to regrout sections for me.
To be fair to JB Factory Flooring, I have never tried to rectify any of this with them — there were simply too many issues, and I was in a state of disbelief and considerable anger. I wanted nothing to do with them. Perhaps JB would have bought me a new garbage disposal, resealed the toilet, replaced my sod and regrouted large sections of the tile, but I didn’t want to get into those arguments with them. I had other things going on in my life at the time, so I decided to put the whole nightmare behind me and just move on.
I certainly would NOT recommend JB Factory Flooring for tile installation.
