Best tacos I’ve ever had! The al pastor with guacamole is. I wish they made jamaica but the food is perfect.

The staff makes fresh tortillas all day. Carnitas tacos are amazing and so were the sopes. Service is sorely lacking but I don’t care because the tacos are that good! Be prepared to wait with nowhere to sit, only a few tables which have all been taken each time I’ve stopped by. They also offer Mexican specialties like nopales and menudo. Great authentic Mexican food in Pinellas!

This is truly a hole in the wall. When you walk in the clientele tells you you’re about to have a good meal. My wife and I went here for the first time today and had some of the best tacos we’ve had in a long time. They are a little pricey for what you get but the taste is fantastic. There are homemade tortillas and everything is made to order. We will be back

Went out to Austin and LA and thought Tampa had been ruined for Tacos, until one Sunday night found a little treasure nestled on Drew St. Got a weak spot for corn tortillas and this place knows how to do them. As we speak I am recommending La Cabana Del Tio to co-workers looking for authentic tacos in the Clearwater area.

Outstanding tacos-this is the real deal! Order plenty because you will want more. The place is tiny, just four tables, but they do lots of takeout.

This place is amazing and authentic. Loved watching our tortillas being made. I had three tacos. Pork, chicken, and beef. The chicken was dry but seasoned great. The beef was wonderful but the pork surpassed them all. The rice and beans were bland. Next time I’ll get another taco instead. Only accepts cash and speaks little English. Will definitely go back!

Killer empenadas! Three of them absolutely stuffed me. Tasty, with just a dab of guacamole and sour cream, shredded lettuce, and a tomato on the side. Fantastic lunch with a mango drink, I really enjoyed it!

La cabaña is absolutely perfect! Do not let the outside fool you, it’s a hole in the wall but it’s also one of my favorites in Clearwater ! I go at least once a week. The tacos are delicious and always fresh, they also make their own tortillas! I’ve also had the sopes, they always make them with chicken for me since I’m not s fan of steak. I’ve also had the tostadas as well and they’re delicious too. The plates they also serve are great as well. I’ve had the chicken and fish plates and I’m equally impressed with both. Ask for the salsa verde because it is absolutely delicious !

This place is perfect. The carnitas tacos are perfectly seasoned and prepared. As is everything else here. Every time I eat here I’m thankful for the level of perfection applied to every aspect of their humble yet glorious tacos, right down to the fresh tortillas. This place is a treasure.

Need more seating. Everyone inside the kitchen seem rude! Not coming back. Better places that appreciate their clients.

We were not impressed with their food. We got the beef taco’s and they were ok. The chicken burrito was so so. This was not the authentic Mexican food I was hoping for.

Great and authentic. No Tex mex corporate nonsense here. If you don’t speak Mexican, yes I said Mexican not Spanish, ask any of the customers there to help you order. We buy the tortillas and gordita shells and they rock. This is the best of its kind in Clearwater. Great job, amigas!

Freshly made tortillas. Real authentic Mexican food. My favorite place to eat in Clearwater. I recommend the tacos americanos, but my friends get Sopes all the time. Cash only.

This little hole in the wall serves the best tacos in the area, with melt-in-your-mouth pork and delicious handmade tortillas, as well as a selection of other dishes and colorful sodas. The tacos though — these were perfect. The premises themselves are just serviceable(a couple of booths), so they are unable to fit a large group. But honestly, who cares? Pop in and grab lunch for there or to go — you won’t be disappointed.

Honestly the best tacos I’ve ever had. The hot sauce alone in worth a visit. I also only get my tortillas from this restaurant when I want to cook at home. They sell them pretty cheap and you can see them cooking them for you. Fave place in Clearwater. Also be warned that its a very hole in the wall place but that’s part of the charm!

The first time I stopped at this place I was 75 miles in on a century bike ride, I found it on Unilocal during a stop for water and thought it’d be a good idea since it had great reviews. All I can say is that i was blown away by the flavor and texture of the carnitas and the lengua tacos were packed with flavor as well. I had the mexican steak plate as well on another occasion and it was served with fresh tortillas and really left me feeling stuffed.

This place makes their own tortillas, and their tacos are simple but very good. The specials are also worth trying out. If you want, they sell their tortillas to go so you can go home and make your own tacos. Its a small hole in the wall off drew street, and it never seems like the AC works very well, but don’t let that detour you from some of the best tacos in the area.

Not Gringo friendly. Waited for 45 minutes, around 2pm on a Sunday. They favor Spanish speaking now customers. Five Spanish customers came on in in the time I was waiting for my 6 tacos to finish and left. The tacos were decent. They also gouge you if you’re a gringo for drinks. I ordered two drinks with my meal and paid 5 $ for them, where as Spanish guy came in while I was waiting and ordered 3 of the same drink as me, paid five bucks and got change back. I wasn’t mean at all, but once I was given my food, not even a greeting or eye contact Food was decent. I thought the way they handled gringos improved when they actually put the prices on their menu a few years back but it looks like that’s not the case. Summary: they will gouge you on drinks if you don’t speak Spanish and be ready to wait a while as well for your food while other people who order after you get theirs, eat and leave. Otherwise the tacos were decent.

Tucked away in a run down strip mall located next to a laundromat, is this little gem. I’m not saying that I’m fluent in Spanish by any stretch of the imagination, but I took two years of it in high school, and another two years in college, I’ve never had too many problems conveying what I want. I swear it was mess with gringo day. I entered, I knew that I wanted two steak tacos, two pork tacos, a steak burrito, and a coke to wash it down. So she writes down three steak tacos and a steak burrito. I said no, four tacos total, cuatro en total. I ended up with six tacos, three steak, three pork, and a pork burrito with a coke. $ 20.32, you speak perfect English when it’s time to charge me, I get it. Whatever, just serve me. It was worth the money, both meats were very flavorful. The fresh handmade tortillas are superb. The burrito was also quite tasty, they didn’t go overboard with the toppings, they kept it simple and let the ingredients speak for themselves. As pointed out by fellow Unilocaler Fayee, you will leave smelling like this place. Even though they messed with me a bit, and they were a bit grumpy, the food speaks for itself. I would recommend stopping by for a bite to eat.

If you’re looking for inexpensive, authentic tacos, look no further. This little hole in the wall taqueria is the best option on Drew Street. I’ve been here 2x so far and the tacos are the best items on the menu. For $ 2 they’re a steal. Upon entering, you’ll find the lovely ladies behind the counter next to the grill hand making the corn tortillas. It doesn’t get anymore authentic and fresh than that. Once done cooking on the griddle, they’ll stuff them with whatever type of meat you’re looking for. I opted for a carnitas and a chicken. Both were incredibly flavorful and moist. Do yourself a favor and order them the traditional way: cilantro, lime and onion. The sopes and tostada were good-not a huge difference between the two. If I was you, I’d order one and not both. Stick with the tacos.
