Great perennials that they grow at the Chesterland location. Picked up a hard to find, hardy non invasive bamboo. Knowledgable and super friendly staff. I will be back.

Went tonight for the first time. because I heard an ad on the radio. Lovely experience! Nice selection, well stocked, friendly employees. Some items were 30% off. I didn’t think they were any higher priced that anyone else. I will definitely go back!

The parent company in Chesterland is wonderful to do business with. Gorgeous plants, very knowledgeable staff and enough sales to make it affordable if you watch for sales. I love that the store exists in Cleveland Heights. Perhaps the owners could do some cost analysis. Would it be possible to lower the prices a little overall and dispense with the chaotic and grump inducing sales?

Bremec’s has always been helpful on my visits. This year for Christmas we went late in December to pick out our tree. They only had a few, small trees left but contacted their other location and brought a larger one to the Hts location. For a small fee they then cut he bottom, put it into my stand, delivered it, and put it exactly where I asked. And it lasted three weeks without shedding many needles.

They have good products but they are overpriced. Also, they refused to take my coupon last time I went and I said that there was another place that was cheaper and I could go there. The lady shrugged and said«Ok» and walked away. Not willing to compromise or match competitors prices nor willing to take a coupon in order to prevent one from going elsewhere. Didn’t act like they cared one bit and were not apologetic at all.

We don’t go here often, generally to get our Christmas tree. We like supporting local businesses in general, and the Christmas spirit gets to us. Yes, they are pricey. Quality has been good. They also offer discounts on other items purchased when you buy your tree. Got good deals on outside decorations and a new tree stand as a result. Will try them in the spring for gardening needs.

My first experience with Bremec’s was when I ordered their compost/topsoil mix to fill my newly built raised beds. Obviously the mix was more expensive with the compost but that year nothing grew in my garden. It wasn’t until late July that I got frustrated, took everything out, mixed in several bags of compost and replaced the plants. My garden grew fine at that point but it was just too late to get the most of a harvest. I later spoke to a woman that knew several people that had the exact same experience. What amazes me the most is the rude service I get every single time I go there. I felt as though I was inconveniencing them by asking them to walk to the other side of the lot to point something out to me, or that I was taking too much time by calling to get a quick quote. Unfortunately, it has the convenience factor being in the heights… the only other option is home depot unless I want to drive 15 – 20 minutes further. With the organic options and great product it’s a shame I have to feel bad every time I ask a question. It’s actually the younger high school kids I find to be the kindest.

As I’ve said before, I’m all about local businesses(#trendy), especially local businesses in my new neighborhood. So, I’ll give Bremecs on the Heights 3 stars instead of the 2 it really deserves. I purchased a Groupon for Bremecs weeks ago, excited to check this place out for the first time and save some money while doing it. I ventured in on a Sunday afternoon, purchasing a few flowers and herbs for my apartment’s window box. The positives: local business, close to home, fills a need for the neighborhood, beautiful pottery, hefty selection, and healthy plants. The negatives: Overpriced, rude staff(the cashier frowned and said«oh you have one of those» when I pull my Groupon from my pocket), bad signage(prices not marked), and no assistance from staff. I probably won’t be back, I honestly received superior survice at my stop at Home Depot the same day. Small business are able to charge a premium because the offer better, more friendly service than the chain guys. Bremecs, however, did not.

I am not much of a gardener, but everyone knows I love to eat. What am i talking about? The fact that this place has approximately 289 pallets of herbs you can buy and plant. This place has quite a bit of inventory for a small place; it is the right size to wander in for about 30−45min and then get the heck out with a good selection. The best part: the shopping carts are old, metal radio flyer wagons.
