Elegansia Fashion Shop

I would give 0 stars if I could. I live a block away from the store and decided to stop in while we were having nice weather. As soon as I walked in I was berated with rude and condescending questions by one of the workers. I wish I would have gotten her name, the best description I can give is that she was probably in her late 50s early 60s and had blonde hair. She was relentlessly rude and mean as I was looking around the shop making me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. She even made a comment about lint/​hair on my sweater… as soon as I walked in! I am a lover of thrifting and vintage clothes but I can say with confidence I will never give this store any of my business, as much as I wish to support local Cleveland businesses. The worst retail experience I have ever encountered.

I stumbled on Elegansia by accident, when Deering Vintage was unexpectedly closed, and I’m so glad I stepped inside. The owner was very nice and helpful, and we had a nice conversation about the vintage designers, Monty Python, and other vintage and thrift stores in the area (and if you’re reading this, I did find more Vera at Unique Thrift, so thank you!!).
The store itself is on the small side, but the racks are full, and she seems to favor quality over quantity anyway. Items are very nice – no junk, and no bad smell that some vintage stores can have.
Prices on the scarves I bought seemed a bit high on the tag, but in ringing them up, she gave me a lower total which I was expecting, which was awesome.
Still sad I wasn’t able to visit Deering, but my cab ride was well worth my time for visiting Elegansia. If I’m ever back in the Cleve, I’ll definitely stop by again.

Elegansia is my favorite vintage shop. When I find the time to go in, it is the best part of my day! The pieces in the store are stunning, and there is always a diverse selection of styles and sizes. The pieces I own from Elegansia are the favorites in my closet! I highly recommend this shop to everyone– new pieces are always coming in. It is a go-​to-​place for stunning designer suits and dresses.
