Marc’s is awesome. The cashiers always are smiling. I have always found some awesome treasures in the close out section. The only slight pain is they only accept discover but I am sure this has to do with cost savings and the few percentage points the credit card companies charge.

Marc’s has some of the cheapest groceries you’re going to find in Parma. That’s why I shop here. I figure, ‘you could pay more, but why?’ Pros: low prices, interesting selection of random, non-grocery items like furniture, paintings, ice scrapers, ink pens, you name it. Cons: Limited payment options. Accepts cash, check, Marc’s gift card, Discover Card. Sometimes the gift cards don’t work, which blows my mind. Inconsistent in-stock condition. One week, they’ll have a product, the next week, they won’t have it. Marc’s doesn’t have a ‘great’ selection, but they usually have what you need. Slow checkout. It is obvious that Marc’s management does everything humanly possibly to cut costs, which is great. They take it a step too far though, in my opinion. I understand cutting costs to reduce operating expenses and then passing those savings to customers. But can’t they at least update the registers? I mean, I have to buy gift cards from my daughter’s school(screwy part of her tuition agreement) because her school gets kickbacks for selling so many dollars worth of gift cards each month. When I go to use my Marc’s giftcards, the cashiers usually can’t figure out how to scan them in the system. I guess the scanners suck or the gift card bar codes are too thin. Anyway, this function needs improvement. Overall, Marc’s is good, but nowhere near as good, or expensive, as Giant Eagle.
