Just drove by today, looks closed. So sorry to see this, was a great coffe shop that had it right

This place is a bit out of the way for me, but I do come sometimes for a couple of reasons. It’s usually fairly quiet for a coffee shop during the day, since most of the people coming in are getting food to go or are working, so if I need quiet but don’t want to go to a library, it’s a good bet, plus it’s well-​lit and pretty cute. Their baked goods are tasty, their sandwiches aren’t too special but they’re a solid meal, the women who’s there a lot (owner?) is very, very sweet. Nice little place in the neighborhood that hosts local groups and events. The patio is pretty cool too.

I just stopped in to check this place out and I really love the vibe– very mellow, cozy and the dessert I had was life changing! I would definitely come back to hang out again!

I had a delicious, simple turkey sandwich today with a side of fruit compote that made my life. Oh, and their iced green tea was the perfect drink for a sunny, 80 degree fall day.
I also wanted to just throw this out there: every other week they host a knitting social. Yes, a knitting social. The barista told me a lot of young people show up for this and that made me the happiest. They also have a board game night! LOVE!

When one orders candy corn cake, there is a 50 percent chance it’s a bad idea. Nope. It may have been the most amazing treat I have ever had. The Oreo cake was wonderful as well. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly.

The store says it opens at 9 a.m. My fiancé and I drove a long way to try Moca because we have heard great things. Unfortunately, the store wasn’t open even at 9:15. Pretty disappointed.

Stopped by for an iced coffee. Their iced coffee was super smooth and almost chocolatey. They also had an impressive case of pastries, but alas that will need to wait for another time.

I love MoCa! The lady who is always working there i think is the owner and is SUPER NICE! Great place to study because it’s not as crowded as other coffee shops. Also has good music selection playing. I hate studying at coffee shops without real food because it limits me to what i can get done (i need to eat often haha). MoCa has a good selection of sandwiches so I can study there for hours at a time! Also their ice coffee and other coffee drinks are amazingly good!
My only reason for taking a star off is that I wish they had salads on the menu.

I’ve only had their Moca and it was gross! I’m moving around the corner and will update this next time I try something. But other than the horrible Moca the place has a cool coffee shop vibe and great customer service.

When I think of a coffee shop. MoCa epitomizes this thought. Perfect intimate atmosphere. I took a hint from P.W. And got their chai tea, and it’s pretty fricken good. I am a huge fan if their drinks. The guy there steams all my coffees to the perfect temperature. I hate when I have to wait to drink. Moca has a great menu and all their stuff is made in house.
I often see the musician through the window at night sometimes. Which is cool where I’m from you don’t see that in a coffee shop anymore, ironically.
Only con is that they have a $ 5 min on plastic. So I usually am forced into buying some chocolate expression beans. Which I’m not complaining about, I love those damn things.
Don’t bring outside food in. They have food there.
Keep it up MoCa. I like your style.

I loved coming here for their peanut butter brownie! omg it was to die for. So soft and moist and peanut buttery. Nice ambiance with all the different art that was hanging around in the store, and good for mid morning meetups since it offers some peace and quiet. Coffee was a little bitter but kinda perfect if you match it up with one of their desserts.

Average espresso. Wasn’t overly excited. Nice service. Great patio. I won’t write it off yet.

This place’s slogan seems to be «coffee & more» — and for a coffee shop, they sure seem to focus on the «more» part rather than the coffee. I’ve been to plenty of cafes in Cleveland, and the iced coffee here was the least impressive. One can certainly tell that it’s not cold-​brewed, which seems to be standard for iced coffees in Cleveland. It was acidic and tasted as if the coffee they used had not been roasted long enough.
I was also disappointed in the (very) slow internet, the too-​warm interior (I had to sit inside because I needed a plug), and the less-​than-​enthusiastic staff (no one greeted me or bid me farewell).
I only experienced a small slice of MoCa, however. Going to the café with a bunch of friends on a weekend evening, sitting on the patio and hanging out would most certainly fun. I just wouldn’t order their iced coffee.

I can see why people like this place.
1) The atmosphere and setting is crazy-​cute. Although there is limited seating (I counted 7 tables).
2) The guy at the counter was so nice and patient with me on my first visit. I can’t wait to go back and try the Cinnamon Brown Sugar Latte. Seriously?
3) My punkin pie latte seemed huge, and while mild, it was very good.
Parking was kind of tricky, but all in all it was quiet, pleasant and a great place to connect to WiFi or meet up with friends (and chug caffeine of course)

Walked into the establishment in the early evening, checked out what was available, and asked about the flavor of the scones. The cashier knew about the raspberry ones, but had no idea what the other ones were. Odd. As I was the only customer inside, I didn’t know why he didn’t walk to the outdoor tables to ask another employee (keep in mind that this is not a large establishment). I guessed that the other flavor was some kind of apple scone, took a chance on the mystery scone, bit into it, and it was hard as a rock. It should have been thrown out long before I arrived. I took it home, broke up the rock, and steamed it to make it edible. It was just okay.
I didn’t think the establishment was very friendly either. The cashier didn’t even thank me for the order.
Sent an e-​mail message to the establishment to see if they wanted feedback. I guess not because I received no response. Maybe this feedback may prompt them to give training to their employees.
Told the story to a friend. He said he went into the establishment very early in the morning. He said the service was even more unfriendly. He felt he wasted his time.
Strange.
I had high hopes because the people at the Clifton Martini and Wine Bar, on the same block, are very friendly and their drinks and food items are exceptional. They can take lessons from their martini bar neighbor in customer service and quality.

I didn’t have a five-​star experience like the other reviewers of MoCa. Maybe I went on an off night. I went on a Saturday early evening. I was hoping to have some nice coffee and dessert. It was was quite and nice for after dinner coffee on a date
night.
The dessert counter was very barren and offered not very little variety. There were probably a few cookies maybe A cake or two but that was it. I ended up getting a Maple Peanut-​butter coffee. This coffee was quite nice it was well balanced of peanut butter and espresso taste. If the combination is making you question the quality of the drink let me assure you it is a good choice. Neither of the flavors overpowered the other as such you need to do drink well rounded. I also has one of the few cookies left, it was not impressive unfortunately as it tasted somewhat stale. Looking at the coffee menu that they that they had up on the wall behind the counter, they seem to have a pretty wide variety of choices from espressos to lattes with nonfat sugar-​free options.
Good-​quality coffee at MoCa, check. Dessert, I will probably have to return another day to find a better and wider variety of items. If you’re looking for a nice quiet place to grab some delicious coffee with a conversation partner, MoCa is a great choice.

Yep, you read that right, five stars fools… WHAT!?!
Surprised? Yep, me too. But sitting here, I honestly can’t come up with anything remotely wrong with this gem. I’m currently eating one of their sandwiches, which was the last frontier for me here. It’s tasty, the ham/​pepper jack/​cucumber sandwich, 9 bucks, came with a choice of four sides and this little rice-​crispy looking thing that I haven’t tried yet.
The coffee is great, they have more and better desserts than anywhere else I’ve seen, and a clean and slick joint. Which is somehow also hom-​ey and welcoming.
Holy crap… it IS a rice crispy thing. It’s chocolate crispies. Genius.
Hey…listen up cafes… if you’re going to do stupid things like reduce your hours for winter, then you’ll have to expect people to find new places. Trust me… pay 2 baristas $ 8.50 each ($ 17 extra) and stay open that additional hour. They’ll appreciate the extra coin, we’ll appreciate the extra hours… because despite me living in Ohio City, I can’t drink alcohol every single night. I just can’t. And I don’t have a good internet connection at home, and I have to finish these projects.
But yeah, Moca is great. Really great. Easy to park, easy to sit… great coffee and desserts. There’s a big patio up front to sit when it’s nice. And what a great spot this will be to get dessert at after eating at Clifton Ave Wine Bar.

Once there were local coffee houses in most cities appealing to local tastes. Then from the nerds and dismal skies of Seattle, Starbucks erupted. Quickly it eliminated competition. Coffee lovers lined up to feed the fire known as Starbucks. Any one deciding to open a coffee house had to imitate Starbucks.
Starbucks has reached a vulnerable time in its life. No matter how hard it tries to become more than a place to tap on keyboards and sip coffee it fails. In Cleveland new coffee houses are opening with more than strong coffee, humdrum pastry and the atmosphere of a call center.
Locally, Presti’s was one of the first to offer much more than Starbuck’s and did it quite well. The only minus is it can be in any Little Italy in any city. MoCa arrives on the scene and can only be in Cleveland. Here the food is Hungarian and Italian. Befitting a city where the Italians and Hungarians once lived together in the Buckeye-​Woodland neighborhood. I said food as grilled sandwiches, bakery, chicken paprikas and chili are on the menu.

The décor is almost Japanese with simple furniture and earth tones. On the walls hang paintings for sale from local artists. A large sidewalk area is fenced in to separate the outdoor tables from Clifton Boulevard.
A good example of this must-​be-​Cleveland is the breakfast sandwich. Here the biscuit is a many layered Hungarian crackling biscuit. What a wonderful idea. The usual dry southern baking powder biscuit cannot compare to the rich yeast raised pogasca. The ham, egg and cheese are superior to other breakfast sandwiches. I do admit that the pogasca was not as good as I have had elsewhere. Perhaps it was micro waved or just not the baker’s strength. The coffee is better than I have had elsewhere.
The owners are thoughtful men who are carefully designing what should become the neighborhood’s gathering place for home cooked food as well as bakery and coffee. I admire them for selecting this area where the most recent activity has been losing businesses as councilman Jay Westbrook and the director of Cudell Improvement collect pay checks for opening the doors to deterioration.
I could not be happier to welcome MoCa to my neighborhood. I hope MoCa succeeds in stretching the definition of a coffee house. Outside they post what’s cookin’ that day. I will be calling in my orders for carry out regularly.

Fantastic coffee (their Iced Coffee is some of the best I’ve ever tasted!) Delicious pastries. Right next door to a great wine bar.
The only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars: $ 5 minimum credit card transaction. I understand it’s a local and small business, but c’mon. It’s not very customer-​friendly.
