Tremont Scoops

Love the ice cream. And the cookie ice cream sandwiches are so good! I love that the cookies are still soft! Always had great service as well.

Tremont Scoops is one of the cooler and best ice cream places in Cleveland. The décor is a mix of ice cream parlor and funky, which is appropriate for Tremont. The Ice Cream is home made and very good.
I had the Chocolate Darkness and the Salted Carmel Truffle; both were creamy and flavorful. The Chocolate was deep and rich with chunks of chocolate, the Carmel Truffle is a very nice Vanilla Ice Cream laced with a sweet caramel swirl and chocolate truffles.
The flavor variety is good, but mostly straighforward; they do offer some vegan and lactose free options.
If you are looking for some very good ice cream Scoops is a good choice, especially if you are in Tremont and want something sweet.

I SERIOUSLY love this place! I can’t have dairy or gluten and it’s rough when friends ask you out for ice-​cream and you have to decline or just watch them eat deliciousness. I love this place so much more then Mitchell’s ice-​cream, because there are so many more options for us that are dairy free. Plus it’s super cute and everyone is very friendly.

Maybe it’s because they just opened for the season on April 1^st, but it’s April 2^nd and the customer service is slacking. You suppose to great a customer, especially in a place that 500sf and less, she was 3 feet from me and her mouth didn’t move, I actually spoke to the cashier and that’s when I found out she wasn’t a mannequin, I usually would have just left and spent my money somewhere else.
As for the ice cream, I had the Strawberry Cheesecake and it had ice chips in it; also didn’t have much of a flavor, actually zero flavor.

What a great spot! I’m devastated that they’re closed in the fall & winter, but it’s Cleveland; I guess ice cream isn’t a hot commodity right now. Still, I swear I’d eat this year-​round if I could.
Stupidly, I can’t remember the name of the flavor here that I like best. They don’t have it often, & it has some sort of bleeped-​out-​swear-​word name. It’s delicious & peanut buttery, especially in a pretzel cone. My best friend loves their vegan peanut butter milkshakes, which you can’t get in a whole lot of places.
It’s a cute place with lots of charm &, even better, absolutely amazing frozen desserts. It’s hoppin’ in the summer, so prepare to wait — but it’s worth it!

Great ice cream and great service!

I usually don’t go crazy for ice cream, as I’m more of a savory guy. But last night at T-​Scoops, I tasted the best ice cream flavor I’ve ever had. Seriously.
They busted out a new (temporary) flavor called «This $#!& Just Got Serious» — salted caramel ice cream, dark chocolate chunks, pecans and chocolate-​covered graham crackers. Perfect.
Unfortunately, I was informed that my new favorite ice cream flavor was a mistake, and there were no plans to keep it on as a regular flavor. So if you’re reading this, and want to try it… yeah you’re probably too late. That is, unless the owners do the right thing, and keep it on as a full-​time flavor! (hint, hint)
If you haven’t beeen, Tremont Scoops is a very good ice cream place, made even better by the perfect location. Next time you’re in Tremont this summer, make it a point to swing by.

I just got the BEST ice cream I’ve ever had. I am a frequent flyer at T Scoops and have never had the flavor «this s&#@ just got serious»…game changer. Salted carmel ice cream with dark chocolate, cashews, and possibly chocolate covered grahams. I heard it was the last time they may have it so I got a pint as well ha! If the owners read this PLEASE MAKE IT A REGULAR FLAVOR!!!

Typically I LOVE scoops for I am a fellow Tremonster! However I just came from here and it’s the third time in a row where I’ve ordered my favorite chocolate chip cookie dough and I get home to find not a single piece of cookie dough in here. For $ 4 I would have hoped for something more than just vanilla ice cream. So annoying!

This place is absolutely adorable inside, and the ice cream is so good! I got a waffle cone with choc chip cookie dough, and it was great. My husband got a peanut butter brownie sundae type of thing and he said it was delicious. I highly recommend for a cute, quick ice cream stop!

AVOID THIS STORE! SUPPORT MITCHELL’S ICE CREAM!
(Ben and Jerry’s in Steelyard Target doesn’t hurt, either)
I give a lot of 1 star reviews, but this place fully earns it. As far as I’m concerned, Tremont Scoops buys bulk ice cream from GFS and upsells the shit out of it in the cutesy Tremont shop.
–Unoriginal flavors, plenty of ice crystals, watery toppings, crappy watery shakes.
–Pretty standard pricing ($ 3 for a scoop)
–Clerks were oblivious and openly rude while we were waiting to order.
Overall, contrasting this shop to Honey Hut and Mitchell’s, I’m amazed that they can stay in business with the exception of convenience. The customer service is lacking, the flavors are uninspired and quality just isn’t there. Quite honestly, if you want ice cream and want to avoid the craziness of W. 25^th, go to the Steelyard Target and get Ben and Jerry’s. Your $ 3 will be much better spent.

* You are correct that I only had (at the time) one other one star review. You pointing it out reaffirms that your store sucks. FYI, it’s Noodlecat, not Noddlecat.
* Not sure why you decided to comment on pricing, that’s nice and rather irrelevant. Potential customers: Have fun paying more for valet parking in order to go to the aforementioned shitty establishment and spend $ 3 on ice crystal ice cream.
* Target Steelyard is bad at stocking Ben and Jerry’s ice cream because Tremont dwellers know not to go to Tremont Scoops because it sucks and they purchase Ben and Jerry’s instead.
All in all, I’ll take my chances with Target over your store.

Hmmm, my second review, like my first, is also from going to the Taste of Tremont, 2014! I agree with Andrea, I wouldn’t make a special trip here, but while I am in Tremont (which is not that often — need to change that!), I try to go. The shop’s décor is simple and cute, and the staff was attentive. We stood in the long line again this year, and it was worth it. They only sell cones and cups during the Taste, no sundaes. I got two scoops of key lime pie in a cup and my husband ordered salty caramel (I think) in a pretzel cone. I loved the key lime but ordered too many scoops. It was so good, very rich flavor!

After having a bad meal, I needed something good. and there was Scoops! I had the Banana’s Foster and Salty Caramel Truffle and it really hit the spot. The Salty Caramel Truffle was AMAZING!

New ownership so no more concerns about getting your ice cream delight from a grump.

Hot day + traipsing around Tremont = some Tremont Scoops. We just happened to stumble upon this place on our walk around. Given my peanut allergy I had to forego most of their flavors. Although I did make it out with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. My friend decided on some vegan cookies ‘n cream. Both were okay. The creative scooptacular-​sculpture brought us in but we left thinking TS could’ve offered more. In a shift towards establishments emphasizing locally sourced ingredients, organic, artisan, made in-​house — TS is short of its transparency. Is this just bulk ice cream cloaked in a whimsically rehabbed storefront?
I’m better off scooping out of my own freezer.

Vegan, gluten free, frozen yogurt! Being someone who needs to stay gluten free 90% of the time, I was so pleased to see GF ice cream cones! I was so excited. Now I didn’t end up getting one, but I did get the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Very tasty. I enjoyed the dainty décor with tones of pink and white. Also… swings! Where else can you sit in a swing and eat ice cream? Such a cute and fun idea. We definitely took advantage of those!

We went to Scoops for the first time the other night with a couple of friends after having dinner down the street. I wasn’t terribly impressed especially compared to the local ice cream king in my opinion, Mitchell’s
First: Odd hours. Open at 5 and closing at 9pm? A lot of people don’t get done with dinner until 10 or so — closing at 11 would be much better especially in the summer and especially especially on weekends!
Scoops has about 20 flavors including vegan and sorbet options. I got vanilla, others with us tried the coffee chunk, mint chip, and salted caramel. Of these, the winner seemed to be salted caramel. The rest were fine but just underwhelming.
Now you might say, ‘why the heck did you just get vanilla??’ Well, I’d say if you can’t do vanilla, something’s wrong. It was just ok. Nothing horrible, but nothing that special either. The ice cream is very rich, reminded me of custard rather than ice cream which is fine because many people love that.
The décor is somewhat simple, but I liked the cute idea with the swings in the front of the windows. It’s clean and with nice bathrooms so that’s a plus.
I’d stop again if in the mood for ice cream and in the area, but wouldn’t make a special trip to Tremont for it.

This is a decent but unspectacular ice cream shop with slightly too high prices for ice cream that’s not very distinguishable from what you’ll find at the grocery store in most flavors or quality. There are better options nearby like Sweet Moses and Churned, albeit more expensive. If you just want a cheaper quick fix I guess this place makes sense.

We came here for the Taste of Tremont and it was great! It was in a very artsy area and I loved all of their great and creative flavors. The service was fine when I visited and it was crazy crowded.
I got a ice cream sandwich with strawberry ice cream and the cookies were amazing! I would def come again without a doubt!

I’ve been to the old Tremont scoops. Now I’ve been to the new one.
I have never really had a problem here, but from the overall feel I like the *new* one better. It’s more classy on the inside. They kept to their classic ice cream flavors, and even have some vegan options. I’m skeptical of anything vegan (because of possible trans fat), but I suppose it’s a good option.
I agree the customer service could be a little better. They didn’t wow me with their friendly staff… though there was just one girl in there. She was quiet and not really excited to be there I guess. I did find a flavor that I loved– Salty caramel truffle. Gimme caramel anything and I’ll gobble it up. Had it in a waffle cone and I was delighted.
In order to get more stars, I think the staff really need to step up their game and show the customers a wonderful ice cream parlor experience. I see the difference in the staff at Churned vs. Scoops.
