Glenn Bartlett – State Farm

New to the area and State Farm Agent Glenn Bartlett and his team were great! Gilbert took great care of us as did Glenn in helping us getting our insurance set up as well as another policy transferred to NJ. No complaints. My family has been insured with State Farm through Glenn for close to 30 years. I don’t know if it’s been that long but he used to have an office in Hillside, NJ and we stuck with him when he moved. I have car, home, business insurance and everything works the way that it should. Everyone in the office has always been professional and responsive to any issue that I may of had.

First let me ask the question, Is there no integrity in business anymore? So here goes.
I switched to this office around a year ago from another office who couldn’t answer any of my policy questions. I had spoken to a well competent individual in this office who was able to answer my questions. so I decided to switch.
I recently received a notice in the mail stating book your appt today to review your policy. I thought it was a good idea to do so since I had not reviewed it in a while. (kudos for sending out the reminder). I booked an appt with Glen (the owner) for today, Saturday. Let me say, I booked the appt at least 2 weeks ago. Glen offered to come in on a Saturday (his day off) because I get home late from work and couldn’t get to the office during their evening hours (kudos again for trying to accommodate my schedule).
Well, enough of the kudos, lets get to the crust of it. I get to my appt today at least 10 minutes before my scheduled time. I enter the office and mention I have an appt with Glenn at noon. The young lady looks at me and says Glenn doesn’t work on Saturdays. My response was, I am aware of that, but he specifically booked the Saturday appt with me to accommodate my schedule.
I asked her to give him a call on his cell to see if he was still coming so I wouldn’t be waiting around. She called him and advised me (with Glenn on the phone) that he would not be coming. No apologies, no nothing. Just he wasn’t coming. She also stated to me he is forgetful like that. Really? Isn’t this HIS business? Doesn’t he keep track of his appt’s? Doesn’t he want to keep his customers happy?
Now C’mon people. My time is just as important as your time. If you can’t make a previously scheduled appt (and I understand things happen) common courtesy is you call the individual and reschedule in advance. I’m sure if I didn’t show up for my appt and he was in the office he would have been very unhappy especially it being his day off.
Let’s see if he calls me back to reschedule (probably not). I’ll give it another chance. Hopefully, the 2^nd time he actually makes it.

If there were an option for half a star, I would have given them that rating. The half a star is for the office assistant who was finally able to resolve my issue. This office is unprofessional and incompetent. Simple changes to a policy took 2 months and several unanswered emails and phone calls from the office manager. If that’s how this office manager, Steven Bartlett, handles his business, I would think this does not bode well for the rest of this office. I’m switching agencies and dealing with another agent. State farm is lucky I didn’t drop them altogether!
