Harvey’s Lock & Door Service

Fantastic! Bill from Harvey’s came out and changed my front and rear door locks. He was quick, professional and understanding of my loud, protective dog. I would use Harvey’s again and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks Bill!

Like a knucklehead, I lost my last master key for my 2000 Toyota Sienna.
After talking to several locksmiths for duplicates of the valet key (all said that a valet can’t be duplicated and one did cut a key but didn’t think it would run the car so I was fearful to try), I went to Ardmore Toyota.
They first said they’d need to reprogram the computer for $ 300; two new master keys would cost $ 50 each, an hour at most. When I arrived at Toyota the story changed and now they’d need to send the computer to Pittsburgh for reprogramming. This would take at least five days and the total cost was now $ 560 plus tax. I was originally told that even if they sent the computer out, the cost would still be $ 300 for reprogramming, $ 400 total with two keys. I don’t think they were being cagey with me, they just couldn’t get the definitive answer for me the first time about getting me a new key.
I took a chance with Harvey’s Lock & Door after talking with him on the phone, brought him the car + valet key. He cut two keys; they both work like the original in that they open the doors and run the engine. Brilliant, that’s just what I wanted and he did the job at the store in under ½ hour (though that could vary if he’s real busy).
Total cost, $ 180 including tax for two keys and he’s a pleasure to work with. The bottom line for me is if you need help with an automobile key go to Dan at Harvey’s Lock & Door first and save hours of frustration.

The doors in my dad’s 100 year old house were difficult to close, lock, and unlock. It was becoming a dangerous situation — if there were a fire and anyone needed to get out quickly, it could be disastrous.
The locksmith came quickly even though it wasn’t an emergency situation. He was friendly and capable. The price was right for the job. I would definitely call again for other lock issues.

Can’t say enough good things about these guys. We had to replace a damaged door, and Dan came out that day, went over our options, and we were able to order the door promptly. Dan and Robbie came back to install it, did a absolutely first class job, and some more lock and door work besides. Great service, know-​how and talent.

I’ve lived in so many cities, states, countries, that in some cases I’ve gotten used to being restricted to big box stores to do my shopping, for services, etc. Being back in the Northeast it was great to be able to patronize a locksmith where they didn’t have to page anyone to come make a key for me.
They have everything! I love it. We misplaced the duplicate keys for our Harley so I needed to make a copy of the hollow core key. This has been a problem in the past, but not at Harvey’s. In and out in less than 10 minutes, and I got 9 keys made since I was already there.
