Description

Specialties

Compassionate Cremation Services specializes in affordable alternatives to traditional funeral services. We offer a wide array of funeral products and services but focus mainly on serving families who are looking for Direct Cremations (cremations without any formal services), Cremations with Memorial Services (a cremation that is followed by a memorial service at the funeral home), and Direct Burials (either with services held at the grave site or where no formal services are held). We also offer a large selection of urns and urn jewelry to meet any budget.

History

Established in 2014.

Our business was born out of a need within our community to provide dignified funeral services for those who were looking for simpler and/or more affordable alternatives to traditional funeral services. Our family has been in the funeral business for three generations and has operated a traditional funeral home since 1955, but there has been a growing demand for more options when it comes to remembering a loved one. As such, in 2014 we opened Compassionate Cremation Services to give the members of our community those additional options.

Meet the Manager

Thomas G.

Manager

Tom knew from a young age that funeral service was strongly rooted in his family, but it took him a few years to realize it was his future too. Tom grew up above the funeral home his grandfather started and his parents run today, and was introduced early to a career that spans all hours of the day and night, but that provides a truly rewarding and meaningful experience to those who choose it. An alumnus of Clifton High School, Tom attended Villanova University where he graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Accountancy and Management Information Systems before beginning his career in Public Accounting in New York City. After 2.5 years as an Auditor for a Big 4 firm, Tom decided a change was needed and attended American Academy McAllister Institute where he earned his associate’s degree in Funeral Service. He was licensed as a Funeral Director in New Jersey in October of 2012 and, along with his family’s help, started Compassionate Cremation Services in April 2014.
