I was extremely disappointed in the fact that I bought & paid for a small Greek salad BUT got a baby greek in a soup bowl. I was outraged because Ive had small Greek salad’s at Kerbys before & they do NOT come in a soup bowl!

Stopped here during $.99 Coney month. While the place needs a bit of cleaning and the very young staff seems a bit distracted, the food was great and the service was attentive when we needed something. Kerby’s has quickly become my go-to coney chain when I’m out and about. This location is solid, although their hours are a bit odd in terms of a late opening time. I’m not sure if it’s just this one or others — I only know that when I’ve been in the area a few times and need to get some breakfast, they don’t open until later than I need. But for coneys and other food later in the day, it’s a solid option.

It’s everything you want in a coney: — fast service — decent food — rapid attention to the table — pretty much the exact same menu you’ll find in any coney anywhere in the area — consistency in prep to that menu Decent little place, especially for a quick lunch pop-in.

Kerby’s is just a great pit-stop! The place is always buzzing, lot’s of regulars and lunch crowd from the surrounding businesses keeping this place bustling. I came in and didn’t know what I wanted and sure enough the girl waiting on me had on a shirt that proclaimed ’99 cent coneys!’ Well that made it a bit easier! Instead of fries I just got 3 dogs and was done with it. I had them and a great cup of coffee in front of me in about 3 minutes flat. Staff is always attentive and is filled with pretty girls if you happen to care about that sort of thing. Good coney /Greek menu with all the fav’s. When in doubt, get a dog. or 3.

Ok food, sloooooooow service. Not busy on Wed night, had to wait and wait for diet coke… and wait and wait for food. Then came the wait for the bill. Got tired of waiting, and went up to the register to wait some more. No thanks. Ill go back to National. Better food, much faster service, friendlier staff.

Typical coney. Food is average. For me the location is very convenient. The staff usually great, but sometimes the kitchen is slow.

A single star is an insult to stars everywhere, but it is the minimum requirement. Like Eric, I found out what an idiot the cook(owner?) really is. I ordered breakfast today and my eggs were ice cold, one was over hard, not over medium as ordered, the meat was greasy and the sausages we as cold as the eggs. The waitress was nice enough suggesting that the y would recook the eggs, and maybe I should order them over easy… I politely said that I don‘t like over easy eggs, I like them over medium and poked the rock hard yolk to show her what was wrong — the yolk was solid. In addition, the«toast, was in actuality warm soggy bread. I asked if they would please«toast» the bread. Please note that this was at 10:30 and there were only two other tables with patrons. When I received the food back, the meat was the exact same meat that I returned. He put the sausage that I ate from back on the grill!!! The were darker and more well done, definitely not microwaved! My toast was burnt beyond recognition as well. I mentioned to the manager that respectfully, it was the worsts breakfast I have ever eaten(and I eat out a lot!) He waived the bill and said that he wanted me back. I thanked him and was on my way out when the a-hole cook(remember him?) came out an said that I should eat elsewhere and never come back. I was outraged to say the least. The manager has me appeased and I am on my way out, but he doesn‘t have the humility to let it go! I let him know that it was not my fault that he didn‘t know how to cook, and that I could cook circles around that slop they were trying to pass off. They advised me to leave and not return, to which I replied there was ZERO chance, and the manager actually followed me out the door and tried to intimidate me while also saying that he was trying to be a good guy to me. When I stopped and he continued walking towards me, I stepped in towards him and let him know that I was«right there» and not moving — he backed down. These people do not deserve to be in business and those who eat there deserve better. I have notified the Clinton Twp. Health Department — one Mr. Steve Kunz.

I’m a guy that loves his coneys. I’m not writing a bad review here because of the food, but I had such a bad experience with a takeout order that it just needs to be shared with other Unilocalers. When picking up a carryout order(standard order — two Kerby melts and two orders of chili cheese fries) I watched as the server accidentally stick her finger in my chili cheese fries. I was about to be disappointed until she said she’d get me a fresh batch and completely apologized. Good recovery. However, what happed after that between her and a cook made the experience terrible. When the girl asked for another order, the cook(obviously not caring that I’m standing right there) asked why she needed another order. When she explained that she stuck her finger in the fries, he responded, «So?» She again asked for a new order of c-c fries… which prompted him to call her a bitch and said that he was going to punch her in the face. KIDYOUNOT. The girl was shooken up, not happy and welling up with tears. When I asked to see a manager, I was told that NOMANAGERWASTHERE and the only thing I could do about it was to call the next day or write into their website. Bet your ass that I wrote Kerby’s that evening. No response. So I called the location and spoke with a manager. I was told that I was lying and trying to get a free meal. So, I emailed the company again… just thoroughly disgusted with this place. No response. Called the corporate office. No response. F*&% them. Don’t go there.

Kerby’s is trying to compete with National’s style of dining, and doing alright at it. Granted, I’m totally partial to NCI’s coneys, and Kerby’s just can’t match them for taste. Kerby’s coneys are a bit cheaper, but with that you can expected a less tasty coney. I still dig them though. They’re acceptable level of tastiness — about as tasty as any beanless chili you can find in a can at a store. What I find interesting is that Kerby doesn’t just use National’s chili. I mean, you can buy it if you’re a restaurant, right? I don’t see why they wouldn’t go with the good stuff. The dogs they use are just as good as National’s though. They have that snap that I come to love in a good all beef hot dog. Their burgers are a lot better than National’s though. The burger at NCI is probably the only thing on the menu that I don’t like. It’s a crappy ¼ lb burger that’s cooked to hell. At Kerby’s, you get a 1⁄3 lb burger that’s cooked just right — no «hockey puck» burgers here! I’d say it’s a good alternative to National. Not as tasty in the coney area, but they make up for it with everything else they serve.
