History

Established in 1996.

This month, November 2015 we are celebrating 9 years at Consignment Gallery at 56 and nowhave over 11,000 consignors. Everyday we have new customers that walk in and say «wow»! We never take for granted how special that feels. We work extremely hard every day making our store homey, clean, fun and a pleasant place to shop meet friends or just browse.

My husband & I have been in the antiques business for over 25 years. We decided that it would be nice to be closer to home & open the type of store that we would be happy visiting. We found this location & fell in love with it. We renovated in 4 stages in the first 5+ years. We keep it homey, clean & neat. The setting is in an old mill building complete with a lovely court yard. It’s easy to get to via routes I-190 or I-495.

We work hard and hope that you will enjoy our store. We want to thank our fabulous consingors for making this possible. We hope you enjoy your visit!

Come in and say hi!

I love my job! We receive truck loads of home furnishings and decorative items weekly. After sorting, reviewing, data entry, pricing, tagging, it’s time to set the store. We re-arrange daily. My favorite is the staging. Giving a homey touch to each setting means so much to me. I was raised hunting for «goods» It wasn’t called a bargain then, it was knowing where to search for good used items or buying bulk. My mother & her mother would take us everywhere! We’d get home and redo the house with our new finds. Later she opened a small neighborhood antique shop combo country store and the rest is history. Thanks mom!

My dad’s mother taught me the finer arts of setting tables, organizing and of course polishing silver. Everytime I finish I smile and know how proud they must be.
