History
Established in 2007.
California Ag Today was born from a blog called Ag In the West, which started in 2007. The editor of the blog is Patrick Cavanaugh, who has been reporting on Agriculture since 1985. Before that, Cavanaugh farmed table grapes in Casa Grande Arizona.
Cavanaugh started producing audio reports for various radio stations in 2010. In 2014 Cavanaugh, along with his wife Laurie Greene, launched CaliforniaAgToday Radio and have grown it to be the most powerful agricultural radio network in California.
In August, Cavanaugh and Greene along with Chris and Denise White launched CalifonriaAgNews.com, the first ever website to provide agricultural news 24⁄7 to computers, smart phones and tablets.
Cavanaugh is also co-owner and editor of Pacific Nut Producer and Vegetables West magazines. Both are widely circulated in the West.
Cavanaugh has won first place awards for magazine articles or radio reports.
