The office is humble, but very comfortable. Everyone, from Dr. Shute to all of his Assistants are fantastic. Great people with a very welcoming and fun approach to their work. This makes for a consistently great experience.
I highly recommend this office!

I’ve been a patient since 1999. I recently moved so I had to find a new Dr. I miss this office! The staff and Dr. are wonderful. I would still go here if it didn’t take me over 3 hours to get to my appointment :)

This is by far the best optometrist I have ever been to! This is our third year going to his office for our annual Eye checks and glasses. We were worried we’d have to find another eye doctor as my husband’s job changed insurance providers to a program very few optometrists take… we began the process of researching some others but really didn’t want to go anywhere else… Thankfully the insurance switched back to VSP and we got to stay with dr shute’s office!
The office staff are super friendly and thorough. They answer any questions you may have and do what they can to accommodate for various needs. The process is the most thorough procedure I have ever experienced in total eye care/​health. They have an ongoing joke as you move from chair to chair to each «station»… The puff of air for eye pressure… The flicker light game to test peripheral vision, the optimap to scan your full eye (super helpful to monitor eye health which in turn monitors overall health as evidence/​symptoms of high blood pressure and diabetes can be seen within the eye among other things). Then it’s onto checking eye using a digital machine. Finally, dr Shute puts a pair of optometrist glasses on that fine tune everything and then goes over the optimap scans to show you your eye! It’s pretty awesome!!!
Since we have been going to him for the past three years I have not had any prescription lenses that I felt were not the correct prescription… Previous offices it seemed to be an ongoing problem for me… Well past the «breaking in» point I would get headaches and really struggle with the prescription… But never with dr Shute. While it may seem like a lot of steps and a pretty big process to get to the final outcome for lens prescriptions, it is well worth it!
We will continue to be clients of his office as long as he is open!
