Customer service was fine. Linens appeared clean and fresh. Nice modern appeal, granite countertops. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. BUT our toilet paper roll had like 10 thin sheets left from the previous visitors just re «folded» to look nice and the paper and pen on the desk were used and bent and torn and there were about 2 sheets of paper left on that. Don’t want to sound wasteful but they were practically gone. Just didn’t make me feel special or nice to walk into someone else’s already used stuff. Also had 1 body towel and 1 face towel. 1 tiny shampoo, no conditioner and there were 2 of us staying. The area under the sink where there are supposed to be extra towels was completely empty. Paying 185 $ for one night and just wasn’t satisfied. What we got didn’t fit the bill. Everything should be new and fresh and stocked, to which it wasn’t. Therefor 2 stars.

Well, I wish I had better things to say about the place. It’s undergoing reservations, and the staff is really nice, but the room had a funky smell. Breakfast is the usual fare.

I stayed here for four nights. This is a nice hotel and a good place to stay while on business. The pool is well kept and pleasant to relax by.

Very clean hotel, sheets and comforter had a touch of chlorine scent. The 2 ladies working the breakfast were friendly and kept on top of the food and keeping the area clean. The three choices of cookies at check-in were fresh and moist, oatmeal Raisin, chocolate chip and chocolate.

I truly enjoy reading great reviews about the Hampton Inn. We were going for the weekend and looked at several hotels. The Hampton Inn the only one that had great reviews. I stay at hotels often and expect great quality. Our stay was impeccable! The lounge area is very appealing and cozy. As we entered our hallway to our room we liked the very clean carpets. So when we entered our room we loved loved the cleanliness. We especially loved the post it’s placed on both beds that expressed the linens and duvet were fresh for our arrival. The linens smelled very fresh and clean! The next morning the breakfast buffet was awesome! Presentation is important to me as well as taste… Both were great! There was lots of room to move about the buffet without getting in someone else’s way. Fresh eggs and bacon… Yummy! So if you’re in LJ and looking for a place to stay… I highly recommend the Hampton Inn!

Rude front desk clerk(Ann) was not able to professionally handle the fact that there was NOFOOD at breakfast.. this is the most expensive hotel in the area and you certainly expect to pay for HOSPITALITYAND A COURTEOUS front desk — and a hot breakfast!!! I asked to speak to a manager as the poor kitchen gal was completely overwhelmed at 845 am with over an hour to go with breakfast hours and a room full of hungry people eagerly awaiting ANYTHING just anything to come out of the kitchen. I approached Ann at the front desk the first time kindly explained the situation and asked if she could find help for the one person kitchen staff both cooking AND bringing food out one thing at a time(and not quickly!). When one thing would come out it would be scarfed immediately by hungry scavengers and gone in an instant… I look around me for options: no bagels, no toast, no donuts… no mix for waffles, no french toast, eggs, grits or sausage… but if u are good with cold cereal or the last banana or last apple you score! I approached Ann again about 7 minutes later and this time she was equally disinterested in being empathic or helpful to ANY degree… I then asked for a manager(ya know, someone who cared) and that is when she chose to disclose that the overwhelmed kitchen lady WAS the manager«and she was JUST a front desk clerk».(Now this was sort of funny because she WAS simply that, and obviously not striving for greatness in her field of work.) When I approached the manager about the situation(which she obviously knew about) she mumbled something under her breath about people calling in… its the 5th of July — a holiday weekend — you should be «staffed up» with a back up plan! Ready to check out and go next door as I do not care to spend my money where no one seems to care about GOODOLDFASHIONEDCUSTOMERSERVICE!!! Stay somewhere else if you have standards of professionalism when choosing to stay at the«better» place in the area.

We stayed here this past weekend during a last-minute family trip to Surfside Beach about 10 minutes away. It was pricier than I would have liked, but on-the-beach beach houses required 2-night stays, and the hotels lower in price had terrible reviews! So lucky for us, we got to stay here :) The rooms are nice, clean, spacious, and so comfortable — and ditto for the lobby and breakfast area. The guy in charge of the breakfast area was so nice and did a great job making sure there was plenty of food through the end of the breakfast time slot. Sausage, eggs, waffles, etc — can’t ask for anything more in a complimentary breakfast! The only complaint was that the drain in our bathtub didn’t work properly, but the ladies at the front desk the next morning said they would look into it. All in all a very comfortable stay!

It was a pleasant stay here at this hampton inn. Came here for business and the rooms are very spacious. Bathrooms and«kitchen» have granite countertops, free wifi, you have a couch, and a big fridge to hold all your booze. Also I gave it 1 extra star for not getting bed bugs. The only place to stay when you are in clute/freeport

As far as Hampton Inns go, I have to agree with the two previous reviews, this is a super nice place! Honestly, I never sleep well anywhere on the first night of a work trip, and I stay at Hamptons almost exclusively, but I slept great! The rooms(I had a King Suite) were spacious, VERY clean, and the hotel was quiet. It sits on a row of other hotels, and probably it and the Holiday Inn Express are the two nicest. The staff was very helpful. The lady at the desk knew the best places to eat and referred us to Wings over Texas, which is somewhere I’d go every day. Loved that place(will be a review of it up soon). Otis Spunkmyer cookies at the front desk(take all you want). I was surprised by the place and I enjoyed my stay. Clute isn’t exactly near anything… you have to drive back up to Lake Jackson for that, but we are going to stay there again just because of Wings over Texas and the hotel was nice.

I was not expecting much from the Clute, TX Hampton Inn… HOWEVER, I was very pleasently surprised. Very nice lobby, very nice staff and the décor is very tastefully modern. I chose the king suite — the bed and linens are very nice, good shower, granite countertops and conveniently placed power outlets. If you are traveling in the vicinity, I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel for fellow business travelers! The lobby is very nice and clean, and I have to say, even the décor is something to write about! The rooms(I have only seen the King Suite) are very nice and again, even a little above the average hotel room as far as décor goes! Easy internet, nice TV, GREAT comfy beds! The staff is exceptionally friendly and very helpful giving suggestions for local dining and directions. Free breakfast hot(can’t beat that). There is a lot of construction going on now(July 2011) and it can be a little tricky navigating around the area. Otherwise I would recommend this little place for a quick stay! Don’t forget to sign up for Hilton Honors!
