Js Air Conditioning

I was forced into using JS Air due to a contract with my insurance. I can honestly say the guy that installed my new unit was amazing and was a pleasure to work with for the time he was in my house. The negative portion of my review is for the the women working in the front office. They are your primary contact when you call the company or have any issues. We were without air conditioning in FRESNO in June for over 4 weeks because JS Air did not know how to correctly order our unit. The unit kept getting delayed and we were assured that the day the unit arrived, it would be installed. This was also a lie. They may be the first available to come out but working with them was one of worst experiences I’ve ever had as a consumer.

Do not use JS Air. They wanted around $ 480 for a Motor Run Capacitor for our AC unit. I knew that was very expensive so I called Mountain Air and they did the job for around $ 200. Do yourself a favor and don’t get ripped off by JS Air.

First spoke with Jill and scheduled a visit for the next day at 9:00am. She told me estimates are free. Andy showed up at 8:25am, he said he was told to be here at 8:00am.
I told Andy my mini-​split air conditioner has a leak and I told him which fitting it is. I also have a brand new 25lb tank of R410a refrigerant. I should mention I have a universal EPA license which is the highest level license you can get for working on refrigeration systems.
Andy quoted $ 360 to fix the leak and refill the refrigerant. I told him the most I will pay is $ 200, he called his boss and his boss said no.
He told me the normal charge for diagnosing a problem is $ 80 and I told him I already knew what the problem was and Jill said estimates are free.
So I am giving JS Air in Oakhurst, CA. 4 stars because Andy was very nice and I could tell he knew what he is doing I was just to cheap to pay $ 360 for an hour of work.
I want to add on behalf of the owner, the refrigeration industry is highly regulated by the EPA and they are very strict on businesses. Consequently it is very expensive to operate a refrigeration business so they in turn have to charge their customers a lot to cover their considerable expenses.

Prompt arrival Tech was John he was very knowledgeable fixed the problem with our A/​C back in August will def use in the future.

DO NOT CALL these people they are thieves they do not have a clue on how to fix heating or air conditioning and do not guarantee there work which is a big clue if they were reputable co they would of course do at minimum that… read the reviews we got ripped off and now must pay for the work to be completed by someone else… to bad we did not read review posted earlier very very unhappy with there service.

If it were possible to give no stars, I would do so.
He wanted $ 2500 to move a condenser, quoting me 2 guys at $ 35 for 1 day, $ 300 in materials and 40% profit. Nothing wrong with the reasoning, everyone should be able to make a profit. But there’s a lot wrong the math you see the problem. I’m just glad I caught him in his nonsense before I hired him.

J.S. Air was sent to repair my A/​C unit on a house i was buying.
Initial repair was flawed and two more trips did not fix it They will not warranty there work even days after
03÷24÷14 — A/​C was serviced by J.S. air (service tech Mike Whitmore), per Seller’s home warranty. A dual cap and ¹⁄₆^th motor was installed. (MOTOR HAS NEVER WORKED)
04÷10÷14 — Closed escrow and received keys to house.
04÷12÷14 — Tested A/​C. Motor they installed stalls after 30 minutes of use.
04÷14÷14 — Called shannon at J.S. air (MONDAY). she says they will send someone out, first thing the next morning.
04÷15÷14 — No one shows for appointment.
04÷16÷14 — I call shannon at J.S. air, she schedules me first thing in the morning on the 18^th (Friday). I specifically tell her I work afternoons, and she says between 8am-​12pm.
04÷18÷14 — I wait until 2:00pm and leave for work, shannon calls and says her tech is at my house at 3:00pm. She reschedules for the 23^rd 8am-​12pm
04÷23÷14 Service tech Brian Bolsta arrives around 10:00am. He states it’s only overheating and stalling because its dirty. He hoses out the unit and coils, and says it’s good to go now. he checks the freon, says it shouldn’t need anymore. (i never received and invoice, no doubt they charged sellers home warranty work order.)
04÷26÷14 — testing the A/​C unit reveals the SAME EXACT problem. motor (they installed) stalls after thirty minutes.
04÷30÷14 — I call shannon at J.S. air completely exasperated. She explains to me that there’s no more money to be had on the previous home warranty work order, it has expired. She says they need me to call my home warranty (pay a $ 75.00 service fee) and get a new work order number, so they can get paid again. She says even if it was THIER mistake and THEY installed a bad motor, they still need to be paid labor to fix it! They have never heard of warranting their work or business ethics. I just told her to schedule an appointment, not knowing what I would do about the work order.
5÷8÷14 — Service tech Brian Bolsta arrives at 9:00AM. He states it’s still just overheating and stalling due to low freon. He says he added three pounds and now it works fine. The freon is $ 33.00 a pound, and there is a $ 85.00 service fee.
He demands immediate payment of $ 185.00 and WILL NOT LEAVE WITHOUT IT.
He INTIMIDATES my wife who is home alone so she writes him a check just to get him to leave (check number 0201).
5÷09÷14 — I turn on the A/​C unit, and the motor (they installed) stalls after thirty minutes.
5÷13÷14 — I place stop payment on check #0201. I call shannon at J.S. air, to complain about my A/​C still being broke. She says she will send the owner out (she said that the last two times also but it was never him) on
5÷20÷14 FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
5÷20÷14 — No one from J.S. air shows up for appointment. No one calls. I called several times with no answer, and left messages. No contact to date. They REFUSE to warranty the work they did (or didn’t do). They refuse to return my phone calls. I have never dealt with such unprofessional people in my life. Meanwhile its one hundred degrees and I still have a broken A/​C unit.
sorry for the long review I am SO frustrated and hot. DO NOT deal with these people, incompetent or just plain thieves, but either way STAY AWAY!!!
