Best Western Cocoa Beach Hotel & Suites

Jamie and Michelle did a great job for my family and I. Everytime we come they manage to find another way to make us want to come back. The place is cared for well and it’s reasonably priced but the location and the staff can’t be beat… Love the space coast!

Good sized room for the price. The location is absolutely fantastic. The staff was very nice. I was in the older section, so it was a bit dated but clean, no bugs but just a little musty. A/​C didn’t do a great job at keeping the room cool.

This is an older hotel, so don’t expect luxury. What they do have: Nice sized rooms, excellent service, clean linens, great location and an unbelievable view.
My family enjoyed our stay here during Spring Break. We walked out to the beach and had lunch on the pier. Everything is walking distance.
Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Would stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay. .. I recommend the upgrade for ocean view. The free breakfast was AWESOME. My only complaint is the 3 – 4 of the pictures I saw on expedia as I booked it were not from this hotel. I choose it for the beachfront pool and there isn’t one. Not much of a pool at all (and they have two small ones.) It’s nice, but if you like the pool book something else. If your into the beach and ocean views upgrade the room and enjoy.

It’s the weekend so the hotel charged over $ 200 for the one night we stayed. This is possible because of its great location, right on the beach and around lots of restaurants and bars.
Our initial room smelled TERRIBLY of mildew. Floral mildew actually because they use a standard spray to mask it. As a singer who is allergic to mold and mildew, it was very obvious and hit us when we entered the door.
We dropped our things and went to the beach because we were only there for a night. After 3 hours, we returned and the smell was overwhelming. I called the front desk and asked for housekeeping. It seemed standard to send someone with the floral spray. When the attendant entered, she commented how bad it was and called to get a new room. We checked another room – worse smell. Finally offered us a small King room and brought a rollaway for my nephew.
I didnt pay for a rollaway though. I paid for double beds, which were not avails.
After deciding that we’d leave, they offered a suite with a sofa bed and a discounted rate of $ 99. We took it. After the trouble, there was no time left to go back to the beach.
The staff was wonderful about satisfying me,
But my issue is that they are renting out rooms with mildew and mold at a high rate. This is not okay. This was my nephew’s first trip to the beach and we didn’t even get to spend as much time due to playing «musical rooms» for over an hour.
I will say again, the staff was great (esp Jamie and Ashley) but the core issue needs to be resolved so the shenanigans can be avoided all-​together.
I would say just pay the extra cash and stay somewhere else OR only stay in the SUITES BUILDING!

This is a Best Western. If you are expecting a luxury hotel, look elsewhere. The room was average. Happy to report NO BUGS!!! I almost cancelled my reservation based on the reports on Unilocal about bugs 10 months ago, but my kids wanted to surf at the pier. We searched the room before putting out things into the room. No bed bugs and no roaches found. The location is perfect for surfers. The ac unit was new too, so the review about the ac is better. We even pulled out the filters and they were clean.
It is steps from the Cocoa Beach Pier and not far from the famous Ron Jon surf shop. The room was redone and we did not see any major cleanliness concerns. Again, it is not a luxury hotel. We stayed in the eight story building overlooking the beach. The view was excellent. The breakfast was not a hit for us, but it was food and it was a clean presentation. There is a Publix right across the street and restaurants within walking distance. The pier is an option for walking to as well.

What started out to be a great vacation quickly ended right after checking into the hotel. Jaime seemed like a great guy. He was Super helpful and got us right into a room. Little did I know this room was full of disasters. Something we noticed immediately was a strange moldy smell that was attempted to be covered up by chemical cleaners. Also the room seemed more moist and hotter than normal. So my fiancé and I thought oh the air conditioner must have been on low so we turned it to 70 and high to cool off the room. After returning from universal studios at 1am we noticed the temperature hadn’t changed. How gross to peel back the comforter to sticky moist sheets. My fiancé and I attempted to turn the air conditioner down to 68 to get some relief but none came. After sleeping on what seemed to be a bed from the 60’s (springy, hard, uneven) we woke up drenched in sweat because it still wasn’t working. After turning off the air and switching it to fan I realized that it wasn’t cooling at all. The next morning I called the front desk. Jaime answered and I asked if we could switch rooms. He said why and I replied my air conditioner wasn’t working. Instead of offering a new room he quickly interrupted me and said I will send a tech to our room. When the tech arrived he told us right off the bat that he wasn’t the regular tech and he would attempt to help us. After barely blinking at the air conditioner, he quickly left and then a phone call came from Jaime and he said it seemed to be working just fine. After asking if we could move rooms he still said no. I couldn’t believe this. I pulled out the filters of the air conditioner and they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months!!! (I have pictures). After being gone from the room all day we went back and the maids hadn’t even cleaned the room or change the towels. That was the final straw. We attempted to call best western customer care to see if we could change hotels. The customer care center said it would have to be through the manager. My fiancé couldn’t stand for such horrible customer service with no care or concern. So we left, packed our bags, and blew another 400 on two nights in Orlando at the garden Hilton inn. I am expecting a call from the general manager tomorrow. Will never stay at this hotel again because of the terrible service. I will post and I date when I speak to the manager.

Very nice room close to beach. And it’s clean $$ I have stayed and a lot of Best Western by far this is the best one in Cocoa Beach Florida

11/​21/​2015 from the moment we started planning our wedding the Best Western was a God sent. Jessica Garret, Sabrina, Jamie (boy & girl) Nick, Paula (bar tender for our reception) and a few others, took excellent care of not only our guests but us too. We plan to continue to visit as much as we can in the future. Pet friendly rooms, ocean view rooms, laundry facility, etc.

Nice beds, friendly staff, great free breakfast, super close to the beach. They also allowed us to check in 4 hours early at no charge. The room was somewhat out of date. Excellent room for the money!

***I was able to ziploc bag one of the bugs I found and sent it with my husband to the front desk early the next morning. It was confirmed by the establishment to be a bed bug. I’m still disgusted.
Ugh, this is one of the worst, possibly, the worst lodging I have ever stayed in. I just needed a place for one night so I figured, why waste my money on a fancy place with amenities I wouldn’t have time to take advantage of. Upon opening the door, I found that the room smelled like a freshly cleaned public bathroom. It had an extremely chemical smell to it. The A/​C was already running but the room felt oddly moist. I know this is Florida, but the room managed to have a higher moisture level than outside. When I stepped on the carpet in my bare feet, I was so disgusted by how sticky the floors felt. I immediately put on sandals. Despite having run their a/​c unit under different settings for several hours, the room still feels disgustingly moist. However, I have not gotten to the worst part! As my baby lay sleeping, I see a bug crawling across the sheet. I try to catch it to identify it, but fail. I did get a good look at it and there is a decent chance it was the dreaded bed bug. I shudder to think. Now I lay here just watching and waiting, unable to sleep. I’m determined to protect my baby from the disgusting thing and determined to get a photo as proof for tomorrow. I am so grossed out right now. At best, there are bugs in their hotel room. At worst, they’re bed bugs! Ew! I can’t wait to get out of here. If it weren’t the middle of the night. I’d already be gone.

Really enjoyed it so close to the pier perfect location room was huge, breakfast in the morning was also good, staff were helpful.
The only bad thing was that the wifi sucked.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I’m giving it 3 stars because the location is perfect, but there were many things I didn’t like. We stayed in the ocean tower, which is just a short boardwalk to the beach. Room 709 had a great view of the pier.
The staff member who checked us in was very nice; however, the hotel room itself was not great. Upon arrival, my 7 year old said, «it smells like dogs in here. I like dogs.» Although it didn’t seem to bother my kids, the smell bothered me. The closet door was falling off the track. There was also a prior guests’ hairs stuck to the back of the bathroom door.
At the end of the boardwalk when you get on the beach, there is a rental stand where some guys rent chairs, umbrellas, and surfboards (I don’t think they are affiliated with the hotel). They even offer surfing lessons. A guy named Herman taught my boys how to surf in less than a half hour. It was great and their rates were very reasonable. At the end of the boardwalk closest to the hotel, there is a shower so you don’t track sand into your room. This was very convenient.
The wifi worked fine. The pool was fine, but there were no pool towels available in the evening. Luckily, we brought our own towels.
The breakfast is free, which is great, but you get what you pay for. The food was hot and plentiful but the quality was poor. One of my kids got oatmeal. I usually make them finish their food, but in this case after I tasted it, I made an exception to the rule. The plastic forks were so cheap that they would bend with even the slightest pressure when trying to hold my pancakes to cut them (see photo). Despite the food, the staff at breakfast was nice and helpful.
We stayed 2 nights and housekeeping never came. On Saturday, we were out of the room from 9:00am-3:00pm, and it was quite disappointing to come back to a room with unmade beds and full trash cans. On our way out to dinner at 5:30, I stopped by the front desk to let them know about housekeeping and the guy picked up a walkie-​talkie and said that he’d take care of it right away. Well, he didn’t. When we returned from the evening out at about 9:30, I was even more disappointed than the first time. Upon checkout, Jaime asked how our stay was and I told him about the housekeeping problem. He was apologetic, but not sorry enough to even offer a 5% discount.
I have low expectations when staying at a Best Western, but they still weren’t met. Again, the location is great, but it was a lot of little things that could have made our stay a lot nicer. Not sure if I’ll stay here again or try somewhere else.

Came to the room and the card reader was broke… had to wait for the maintenance guy to come and fix it. The door itself was so hard to open that I would have to use my shoulder just to open it. Thank god there wasn’t a fire or we would have been screwed! The hotel overall was kind of trashy. Needs to be cleaned more often. The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars, is because the beach is right in walking distance. Next time I will spend the extra money and get a nicer hotel. I won’t be back!

A nice friendly place to stay. Walking distance to beach, free WiFi, rooms a bit small for my taste but overall a nice place.

The room is mediocre, kind of broken down for example the carpet is ripping apart in some places the toilet paper holder is falling off the wall. The room is kind of clean. The smell is a bit musty. But I didn’t expect much from best western. The breakfast is a bit sad. I was hoping they would at least offer some boiled eggs so i can have a leaner breakfast. Not many healthy lower carb, higher protein options.
The beach is beautiful! And we loved our view from the tower building.

This hotel is nice, clean and conveniently located near Cape Canaveral on the ocean and close to many restaurants within walking distance. The ease of getting around was awesome.
The customer service we received this year and three years ago was outstanding. The employees throughout the hotel made our trip that much more enjoyable.

Not bad, but not worth the price. There are actually 6 or 7 buildings our room was «ocean view» possibly with with binoculars. I thought we were on the building on the beach, but We were not even close. The room desperately needs updated. The heater/​cooler was so loud and hardly worked. The carpet was pretty nasty, didn’t want to go barefoot on it at all. The pool was nice and the beach was spectacular!

Reading the other reviews it seems like your experience can vary wildly here depending on which building you stay in. We stayed one night in the ocean view towers on our way down to ft. Lauderdale. The room was nice, clean, came with a kitchenette and a balcony with a lovely view of the Atlantic.
The bed was comfy and clean and our stay was pleasant and quiet. We had to walk to another building for the breakfast. Very nice eating area with lots of seating. The food was standard continental with cereal, oatmeal, muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and pancake/​waffles. It did a good job filling me up.
The location is nice with a steakhouse right next door to the lobby building and a publix right across the road. The Ron Jon surf shop is also not far away.
The complex of the hotel itself is a little disjointed with different buildings with rooms at different price points. When we arrived one of them was closed for renovations, so it appears as if they’re in the process of improving their older rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming and we’ll definitely be returning next year.

Should have read the reviews here instead of Trip Advisor, I suppose. I would have booked elsewhere.
I had room 130 in the garden view area on the bottom floor for one night ahead of a cruise. The room was: overwhelmingly musty and humid, no WiFi connection (no cellular connection for that matter, either. Thanks Sprint), bed was hard and pillows were flimsy. The showerhead was molded and rusty (see pics), breakfast was pretty lousy, I couldn’t get out of here fast enough. Would not stay again and would not recommend.
