Ice Cream Junction

So when a friend told me that he knew of a ice cream shop that also sells delicious Filipino food. When I was a boy I had a very close friend who was Filipino. His mother used to cook for us after school. I loved her cooking and I love Filipino food. So then I began my drive to Cocoa Beach.
Upon arrival I ordered the Dinuguan. Its a stew made of shredded pork, pigs blood broth and served with rice. I know it sounds odd but believe me when done right it can be absolutely delicious. Luckily here they do it right and just like I remember it.
I highly suggest you give this establishment a try.

Lots of ice cream choices. Pecans in the Pralines N Cream were soggy. The other scoop I had tasted a bit off. They do have two different brands of ice cream that they scoop – perhaps the Hershey variety is better.
I would try this place again because the Filipino menu looks pretty tasty and the shop was very cute and clean.

NOT JUST AN ICE CREAM JOINT! This is also an authentic Filipino restaurant. I believe it should be called a restaurant because I would come here more often for the food rather than the ice cream. But if you are in Merritt Island, come here for the filipino food. Order ahead of time if you can so you don’t end up waiting a long time. They don’t have a full kitchen staff. If you are new to filipino food and want to try this place but don’t know what to order. Trust me with the following…
In order of popularity:
Pork adobo — pork stew in filipino adobo sauce
Pork crispy pata — fried pork hocks. Tender off the bone meat with crispy pork rind like skin.
Pork sinigang — tamarind base soup. It’s like lemon chicken soup, except it’s pork.
Pansit — filipino version of fried noodles with chicken and vegetables.
There a lots of other ones, but these things are an all time favorite even among filipinos. Almost everything is eaten with rice.
The only other place that would rival this one is Nipa Hut. But that’s in Kissimmee FL. Forget the other place in Merritt Island. That is not worth it at all. This place is perfect for local folks, those going to a cruise, those who just got off a cruise, or if you are a cruise liner staff and want to try a local flavor.
SUGGESTION TO OWNER: Please change the name and call it something that sounds like a Filipino Restaurant. The name threw me off when it appeared in Unilocal.I thought it was a glitch in Unilocal so I ended up going somewhere else. If it weren’t for some information from some local folks, I would have not visited this place for filipino food.

The weekend Filipino buffet is great price and the ice cream is perfect after a day at the beach!

It was more of a Filipino restaurant. Way too many customers and understaffed. We left.

Looking for an ice cream spot in the area and found this place. I was a little apprehensive when I walked in and saw the tables and people eating, the grocery items for sale, people ordering. it was too much too quick as the place seemed to be busy. The smell of Asian food was really strong as well and a little weird with the ice cream. We waited for a bit and since it was busy we kept getting skipped but we were there to try it out so we waited. There is a large variety of flavor and cones. We each tried different flavors, all really delicious. The nice lady that served us did apologize for the craziness, which we appreciated. Had to eat in the car though because of the heavy food smell. Someone ordered a drink that intrigued me, Halo Halo. I looked it up, it’s a Filipino desert drink. Looked good. Will come again if in the area. Suggestion to maybe create a separation between the areas.

I enjoyed the food and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place to my family and friends. Every time I go to Cocoa Beach, this is the place I will always go to.

Really good Filipino Food!!! The Saturday buffet is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing. Just like walking into a local store in the P.I. The folks running the place are really nice. Oh and the have a really good ice cream selection. If you geel like something different and fun, give it a try.

Just had ice cream. It was good. Not as creamy as we like it, but flavor was very good. Staff is very friendly. Place is very clean.

My husband was craving ice cream after a day at the beach and he Unilocal’ed this little summer treat. When we walked in and looked at the menu, we were surprised to see it was a little filipino restaurant. We didn’t order any of the dishes as tempting as it was, but ordered ice cream and bubble tea. They do have good assortment of ice cream flavors and probably about 8 bubble tea flavors. The tapioca in my taro bubble tea was perfect, not soggy and overboiled like how the Houston filipino restaurants make them.
The staff was very friendly and initiated conversation with us. They invited us to the last weekend of the month buffet which unfortunately could not make it since we were headed back to Houston. Definitely worth coming back to try their ice cream flavors and filipino food.

My husband and I joined the Cocoa Beach, FL «Yummy Food Tour» led by Erika Van Buren last 4÷22÷2014. The fifth restaurant we visited was the Ice Cream Junction restaurant at Cocoa Beach, FL. The manager, Boots, greeted us warmly. The cook came out and engaged in a friendly conversation. We appreciated the cleanliness of the establishment. We enjoyed the tasty egg roll (called lumpia in the Philippines, served with a sweet, tangy sauce) and savory, freshly roasted pork (lechon). The restaurant offers over 30 varieties of ice cream and Filipino dishes, a well as a small market section of oriental foods. Dr. R. Shaw

We were on our way to Jacksonville and in the mood for some Filipino food. Quick search on google found us eating lunch in this restaurant.
We ordered Lechon and Kare Kare from the menu.
Now I’m not Filipino but as soon as I had a taste of the Kare Kare, I looked at my friend (a Filipino) who agreed it was terrible. It tasted watered down, unlike your typical Kare Kare which has thick sauce.
The lechon tasted okay with the exception it was chopped to tiny cubes. Looked as if they’re trying to save money by chopping the lechon to tiny pieces so it can be served to more customers.
The ladies served our food were friendly. Too bad the food not up to par.
We’ll order ice cream next time.

We were in Cocoa Beach for our wedding and needed a place that catered food to the house. The Filipino dishes we ordered was so good, that by the time my husband and I got to the house, the food was all gone!!! According to all our guests, the food was amazing. My family even went back to eat at the restaurant the day after the wedding. If you need a place for catering, I would definitely consider the Ice Cream Junction.

This has to be one of the best places in Cocoa for ice cream. I would suggest calling before you head over though as they’ve been known to close up shop before their posted closing time.

Karaōke every night at 7? Bubble tea? «Asian homestyle dishes»? This place is just AWESOME!

This lil Asian owned ice cream shop is so much fun. The service is wonderful and the ice cream is fresh. We come here whenever we are in the area.

Ice cream! Filipino food! Karaōke! This fun hangout spot has it all. The ladies that own and work the place are the friendliest I’ve met in Cocoa Beach. Karaōke evenings are so fun that you won’t want to leave.
I suggest ordering siopao, steamed pork buns, which are delicious. The pancit, adobo, and rice dishes are great too. For dessert, try bubble tea or halo-​halo, a shaved ice filled with sweet goodies.
Lunch, dinner, dessert, or just hangout time are all great experiences here – go!

Great local find, give this place a try!

This used to be a Baskin Robbins, so the choices are pretty much what you would see at a typical Baskin. There are a few unique blends like the «Snow White» which is ice cream and 7-​Up, but it’s pretty much your standard 31 flavors in a cone or dish. I added an extra star for the friendly mom and pop feel and kindness of the wait staff. I liked it, but I miss Tuttie Fruitie that used to be across the street and was really the best.

Great ice cream store front that serves filipino food to order. The staff is super nice. There is also a few shelves of random asian products to buy.
