Douglas Snider is an award winning wood sculptor who started Island Home Décor, Custom Carvings by Snidely LLC and Snidely Wood Studio in 1995. We have grown and now have a Gallery located at 3905 Kings Highway in Port Saint John.

Doug has an addiction & a passion for creating wood sculptures rescuing exotic species of Florida Wood & creating multi-​media works that fuse nature, technology, wildlife into his artistic expression. Specializing in Florida life style one of a kind art, Doug has an analytical eye that gives him a unique ability to see & fuse nature & the natural attributes of wood with 3 dimensional lifelike detail.

Doug has lived in the in Florida in for 43 years.

While working as a NASA subcontractor on the Space Shuttle Program as a Quality Assurance Inspector & Quality Engineer for 31 years, Doug began creating surf & fish sculpture as a hobby. However his love for offshore fishing turned his attention to creating Saltwater Species Fish in realistic detail. Snidely has created a wood taxidermy service that is unlike any other. His passions & love for the ocean & wood sculpting has driven him to create and deliver the most realistic wood fish replicas available to the public.
