Just Move It VT

My husband and I needed our Harley Davidson touring bike shipped from Florida up to New Jersey. We found Nick and Just Move It VT on a site that connects haulers with those needing a transport. Nick contacted us immediately. He was professional, courteous extremely flexible and fairly priced.
We were concerned about the bike making the trip un damaged, however, when Nick met us for the pickup, we saw a new truck and enclosed trailer, pristinely maintained. He had plenty of stabilizing straps and equipment., he was well learned in securing the motorcycle in his well equipped trailer. Nick assured us a three day delivery and a specific time frame of arrival. He certainly delivered on that! Exact day and time he told us… he was at the door! The bike was perfect! He took the bike off the trailer and brought it into the garage for me. Payment was easy… we went through PayPal with no snags on either side.
I have no hesitation in recommending Nick and his company to anyone with something to move!!! I will surely use his services again in the future!

We used Just Move It VT for our move in June 2013, from Burlington to MA. We rented our own truck and packed everything ourselves so we hired them to help load. This was our first big move. They were very responsive and flexible when we had a UHaul issue and had to delay the job by an hour or so. The owner showed up first and actually helped us back the truck into the driveway. I thought we were in for an easy day.
Two young men then showed up and Nick left them to do the job. One was extremely nice, the other kept checking his cell phone and did not interact much. He even took a smoking break during the job. They were careful with our stuff and used appropriate padding/​wrapping. They just had no idea how to load a truck. They first put everything into the garage. This took most of the time. By the time they started loading the truck we were almost out of the time we paid for (which we were assured was adequate — I think it was 3 hours). My husband and I were also helping and we were loading more things than the actual movers. We kept remarking how SLOW they were and how this was ever going to be finished. At one point they actually REMOVED the furniture and tried to pack it a different way. We ended up paying for an extra hour. Same thing. By the time they were «done», we still have OVER HALF of the truck to pack, it was the end of the afternoon, and I was starting to panic.
As my husband, my father, and I began to hurriedly pack the truck, the guys sat in their car on our street and waited for their boss to wrap up the job.
Upon review of the house I did notice some deep scratches in the wood floor of the entryway and one of the upstairs bedrooms. When the owner came by to wrap up he also acknowledged the scratches, assured me they would be fixed, and documented them on a form. SPOILER ALERTt: this never happened.
When we arrived at our new house the next day, the movers from Boston were incredibly efficient, nice, professional, and careful. They could not believe how poorly the truck was packed. I could not believe how awesome good movers could be. What a contrast. Luckily no major things were broken or damaged.
So basically, we paid for movers, paid for extra time, then ended up packing most of the truck ourselves. I have never been more exhausted or frustrated in my life. I will NEVER use them again.
Oh, and the wood floor damage that I was assured would be repaired? After several months of «contacting some floor guys» turns out he couldn’t find any after all.

We used this company to load us for a move from VT to MA in July 2013. Although the 3 men (including the owner) were very nice people, they were NOT good movers.
Now, I say this having done 4 moves in 5 years — several of them interstate, with NO issues on the loading or unloading end until now. Each time, we would rent our own uhual truck. The first few times we would load and unload ourselves (my husband and I with maybe 1 or 2 friends) and the last 2 moves we hired loading and unloading help on each end of the move. We never had any damage EVER to our belongings. Until now.
So this is the 5^th moving company we have worked with in New England. Now, maybe all the great reviews on
and
are from small, local moves with people who just don’t have a basis of comparison, but I urge you not to use this company.
Now, to the details of moving day:
While they arrived on time, the owner spent a great deal of time stopping his other 2 employees mid-​move to chat with them about some personal thoughts over and over, essentially derailing them from loading our things. This was a simple 2 hour job of a 2 bedroom house, and we were 100% packed, labeled and ready to go.
Though he took the time to wrap all the furniture in pad or Saran Wrap… Every. Piece. Of. Furniture. I. Own. Was damaged in some way due to his horrendous packing job on the truck.
He moved the entire contents of our house into our 2 car garage FIRST and THEN proceeded to load it all into the truck in the most cockamamie way I have ever seen (and I’ve moved A LOT, so believe me when I say this was ridiculous). He even took a break to smoke, and I have never seen movers take a break for a quick 2-​hour load job. And guess what? We got charged and extra half hour because he decided to take an extra long time to do the loading.
By some miracle, it all fit in the truck. But upon unloading and setting up our furniture in the new house — 2 days and a state away from when we already PAID him — I have chips, dings, dents, scratches, splinters and splits on ALL. MY. WOOD. FURNITURE. Seriously, on all of it. My bedroom set, living room furniture, kitchen, desks, dressers — you name it, it’s damaged.
Every day, I walk around my house and see a home full of damaged furniture.
And the best part? He never returned my call when I tried to speak with him about the damage.
UPDATE ⁸⁄₁₉: The owner finally called me back, but said there was «nothing he could do». This doesn’t surprise me, so again PLEASE spare yourself the grief and go with someone else.

The Just Move It VT crew helped us load and unload our major move, which turned out to be a bigger challenge than we had expected. They really came through in a pinch for us and did an amazing job — super fast, super efficient, super friendly and super professional. Cannot recommend them enough!
