Business Owner
Dr. Howard S Wharton is best known for his easy to understand manner and down-to-earth warmth with his patients. Dr. Wharton, an Ohio native, attended Ohio State University and earned three degrees. He doubly majored in Microbiology and Chemistry as an undergraduate student; then he was jointly enrolled in graduate and Medical school for three years. Following a general internship in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dr. Wharton was an early member of a new sub-specialty, Emergency Medicine. With more than 30 years of experience in Emergency/Occupational medicine, he has held positions with Upjohn, Kellogg’s and has been the owner of Prompt Care. Dr. Wharton holds a certification as a Medical Review Officer through ASAM and is a nationally registered DOT medical examiner.
