I have taken my dog in several times now, she loves Jessica. Honestly Jessica does a great job and Katie always comes out looking amazing. I highly recommend taking your dog in and asking for her. The store is a little jewel, lots of neat things to look at. Their selection on some items is limited compared to some of the larger pet stores but that is to be expected. The selection of décor is wonderful I found several pieces I have added to my house. They also sell great candles!

Very disappointing customer service. The store owner said I was being«rude» in connection with an item I was returning. I politely told her I dissented and pointed out was that I was actually being quite gracious by not raising my voice or being condescending. She then told me to just leave. When I asked why– since being rude isn’t a generally accepted reason to be booted/banned from an establishment she advised me she could refuse service to anyone without an explanation. I’ve been a patron of this store since 2013 when I brought my polo pony with me to A&M. The police issued me a criminal trespass warning which can be issued without any legitimate legal cause. The responding officers commented that it’s not unusual for difficult business owners to issue them when they are not adept at dealing with customers. They also remarked that the entire transaction was a waste of resources as they could be out responding to real emergencies. The business owner went out of her way to say that her banning me from her store has nothing to do with what color I am. A statement that intrinsically speaks volumes that it has everything to do with what color I am. I highly doubt she would have banned a white Aggie girl who simply wanted an explanation as to why she was being labeled rude when she and the other people present were aware that she clearly was not being rude. Close Quarters’ loss, not mine. I learned that even though I thought the Michael Browns and Trayvon Martins contributed to their own fates, there really ARE racist people today and it’s really sad. I’ll continue to shop at my previous ACS near The Woodlands when I visit my family on weekends.

I have trained my 2.5 year old GSD from a pup, and used Puppy Love training, and have bought our Wellness Core food from Close Quarters. We get our treats, plants, litter, fun collars, yummy candles, garden stuff and random odds n ends from the feed store. Our kitties Hank and Maggie were also adopted from the feed store, and I can’t imagine our house without them! A Wellborn must see for all animal lovers!

Once, while searching for locations around town that sell Taste of the Wild dog food, this place popped up. However, it was wayyyy farther than Tractor Supply so I never gave it a shot until one night when we were early for puppy class. I saw on their website that they were open until 7pm on weeknights. It was 6:56 when I pulled into the parking lot, but they looked locked down. I was upset. I just needed to run in to get a small bag of dog food. I parked right in front of the hours sign to get a closer look, and while I was squinting someone came to open the door and motioned for me to come in. I grab the pup, run in, and the guy was very friendly while asking what I needed. So I told him, I paid, we left, and the dog and I were happy. We’ll have to come back some day when we have time to stroll up and down the aisles to get a good idea of what all they offer.

Oh what? No one has reviewed America’s Country Store on Unilocal yet? Come on people, get to Unilocalin’! :) This is one of the best home and garden, feed and pet store in Brazos Valley. While it is a chain jointed owned by Purina and Land O’Lakes, this location has a great staff of locals that are fun and friendly to talk to. The gardening section and plant selection is excellent, scenery outside is beautiful country side with some rare Norwegian cows that look like Oreo cookies and they even have their own store cat a large silver blue male that you can find often laying around in, you guessed it, the cat food section. Excellent selection of pet foods. Doug Welsh often mentions this store on the KAMU Radio program called Garden Success. It’s a great store. So slang on ya’ll’s cowboy boots and get on down yonder.

Some people say I spoil my dog. However, I think that if I feed him high-quality food, let him run around, and give him heartworm/flea prevention, he’s going to manage to keep himself pretty healthy and this seems to have been the case so far. Also, he is incredibly shiny, has a very little to no «dog» smell, and has a ton of energy(sadly), so I think this plan works. Additionally, the vet tells me he looks awesome, yeah-yuh! Um, anyway… It’s kind of hard to find a high-quality food in College Station(there are some good choices at Petco/Petsmart, don’t get me wrong, but they don’t have what I was looking for), so when I did a search online to see where I could get Wellness Core for Ruck, I was kind of shocked that there was not one, but TWO stores in College Station that carried it. Close Quarters was closer to me than Wiggles and Wags(plus, uh, I wanted to go to the feed store and see what it was like — I’m from Houston), so I headed over there. MAN! They carry Innova, Innova Evo, Wellness, Wellness Core, Nature’s Variety, Nature’s Variety Instinct, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul, Eagle Pack Holistic, and a couple of varieties of Solid Gold. It was incredible. They also have a large selection of premium canned foods so you can mix up your dog’s protein sources.(I don’t have a cat(though my roommate has a lovely calico/Satan mix if you’re in the market), so I didn’t look at their cat food, but I’m assuming it would be about the same selection.) Really, the choices are awesome(though kind of sad compared to, like, Bark ‘N Purr in Austin). They also carry some brands of pre-made raw food if you’re into that. Lastly, they have premium treats(like the kind that are made almost completely of meat), which is pretty sweet. The only issue I have is that my friend and I noticed that the sign out front said live animals, and we saw NO live animals(and were kind of disappointed even though I hate pet stores). I’ll have to ask about that when I go back to pick up more food for my mutt. Too bad I didn’t find this place until I was mere months(4!!!) from leaving CSTX.
