James H back after the last review I posted a few days back. Much bigger fan with much appreciation and respect for one of the owners (Inga) and all of the Colleyville/​Grapevine location Employees. thank you all, you have restored my expectations of the German Deli and your customer service.

Their Broëtchen is fabulous. The only thing that compares is there customer service. Fantastic place to do business with — really is wonderful to see. They are on top of their game. If you order stuff that’s frozen, it’s best to order extra as shipping isn’t that much more, they have to custom pack their stuff and both times all has arrived safely. They won’t ship slow boat at the end of the week, they email and let you know that — which I thought was great. They mailed my stuff on a Monday and it arrived Thursday morning. I highly recommend this place — thank you guys!

Super cool German store. Very friendly staff and lots of hard to find goodies to choose from. Very military friendly with a discount for service men and women. Check out their cool wall dedicated to our troops.

In fairness — I did speak to the owner back when this occurred and she was very gracious. However, being belittled by her staff was just a little too much for us. We haven’t been back and won’t plan to return. The manager was very nice about things — but the folks employed by the German Deli just don’t need to see us ever again.

I purchased some great sausages here and an interesting liver pâté.
They have German beer so I picked up a six pack.
If you want to expand away from Johnsonville brats, stop in here.

Great customer service. I ordered a basket to be delivered for a 95^th birthday, and when the carrier screwed up the delivery, German Deli called my recipient to apologize for the delay.

Before you visit the store. Go check out the Walmart SuperCenter three miles south. Notice anything? That’s right. The German Deli doesn’t carry low quality crap. Walmart does. If it doesn’t matter what you stuff in your mouth, you don’t want to live well, appreciate the finer things,…well, keep going to Walmart.
the German Deli only serves high quality goods, including Nasi Goreng, and a host of fine chocolates. If you need REAL beer, I recommend the Warsteiner bought in a smaller keg.
Bottom line, this is a grocery store for feeling good. Support them so we can help it put Walmart out of business.

Cool German store, popular for its storefront online (German Americans often order things from their webpage from around the country). The store itself is a good size but not too large, and great selection of German sausages (Siegi’s Bier Bratwurst is EXCELLENT), mustard, and boxed/​packaged/​canned goods. Pretty good selection of beer even. They even had rollmops, picked trout filets wrapping around pickles, which is not easy to find anywhere.
Friendly and helpful service. They also do have a loyalty program. And they do have a few sales too, even though you may have to look closely at the price tags to find them.

This place is awesome! I’m German and I love this place! It has a great variety of very authentic foods. I go there as often as I can. For me they’re quite a drive, but it’s well worth it. Store staff is German and speaks German.

This is a fun place with a friendly staff. Given the square footage, I guess I was expecting more options, however they did a great job with variety.
It’s dry goods and meats, along with beer and wine. I was disappointed I could not get Kirschwasser here, but maybe there are laws or reasons they couldn’t get permits for liquor?
There are some baked goods, but they are frozen and imported (not freshly made, which I thought they would be before I went). SO HAPPY to have access to German breads and pretzels!
Their candy selection is good, especially with Haribo and Milka products, but they’ve kept the selection to just those main brands and not much on the high-​end, small batch candies. I definitely appreciate their choices in sauces and condiments.

Like other Unilocalers have mentioned, they have a fantastic selection of Haribo gummies (my favorite!). They also have a nice variety of salted licorice which makes my husband very happy.
I liked the variety of their other groceries items they had available. I wish we didnt have a busy day ahead of us or else we would have snapped up a few packages or german sausages. I really liked the variety they offered and the range of prices they had available. They even had imported German baked goods that could were take-​and-​bakes.
They had a wonderful variety of mustards and pomme frites dipping sauces, spaetzel and other traditional food items.
The staff there were so sweet and helpful. I love the little German flag ribbon that came on their shopping bags — i felt it was a nice little touch.
Make sure to sign up for their rewards program and newsletters! We’re definitely planning on going back.

Great little grocery store to get all sorts of German food items. Some awesome harder to find beers, ingredients, frozen breads and pastries, and of course that wonderful German chocolate. Wife and I had just returned from a vacation to Germany and the Czech Republic so we were pretty excited to find this spot. Oh, and if you’re a Fanta Fanatic they have all sorts of European flavors made with real sugar!

Funny place this. Stuck I a strip mall type area at the back of albertsons. Still. You want Germany. This has Germany everything German you could ask for. People are helpful and nice and they sell Kinder Chocolate. But not Kinder Egg. Apparently the FDA won’t allow them to import the Kinder Eggs. That is a shame as young kids in Europe love Kinder Surprise Eggs.

It’s really nice to have a store where I can get hard-​to-​find German and other European imports. Great beer! Great chocolate! Very friendly staff. And free gummy bears with every purchase.

Great selection of stuff, but terribly overpriced. I ordered some Asbach Uralt pralines (German Chocolates), only to find the same chocolates at
for literally less than half the price. It was highway robbery. I email
about my experience and got no reply. So they are price gouging and have poor (no) customer service. That’s enough for me never to come back.

Great selection of German specialty items (dry goods) along with meats, bier and wines. Staff is extremely helpful and personable. The name can be misleading to someone who reads «deli» as a place to get sandwiches. This is not a restaurant. Plenty of novelty items (shirts, mugs, games) here without being cheesy. If you want a little taste of Europe in DFW, this is a great place to start.

I’ve been coming here for years and I live out in Frisco. It’s my favorite place to get delicious German goodies!

I did not visit their retail store but ordered some of their candy online. Their service was excellent.
The packaging was exemplary: in order to keep the chocolate from melting, the candy was put into a styrofoam box with very thick walls and some ice packs were in it as well. Each item was put into a separate little plastic bag. On top of the styrofoam box, they put a square piece of black cardboard with a ribbon in the colors of the German flag. Very cute.
The shipping was prompt, just a little expensive. The chocolate, of course, tastes great.

Your one stop shop for German delicacies! I hear they do weekly wine tastings here as well. I am in the area for lunch at least twice a week for my Sunflower Shoppe splurge to get kombucha. So I swung by here to see what they had to offer. Love all the spicy mustards and they have fun candies and even German honey and coffee! Great to come in and explore! I’m definitely coming back to check out their wine selections.

This is my favorite European specialty market in DFW. I was so excited to discover all of my favorite snack and grocery items that I’ve missed so much (even cold items like Quark und Butterkäse) at German Deli! They have a fantastic selection of traditional German household, kitchen, Christmas and holiday goods as well.
If you like gummies, they have the real deal Haribo that are made in and imported from Germany in giant tubs and in a fun selection of shapes and flavors (Smurfs or Chinese Dragons, anyone?). Of course, like any good Supermarkt, there are plenty of chocolates, chocolate bars and marzipan to choose from as well. If your sweet tooth still isn’t satisfied, you’ll want to check out all of the cookies and biscuits as well. They have all of the major brands including Bahlsen, Leibnitz and Hit, as well as a large assortment of Nürnberger Lebkuchen during the holiday season.
If beverages are what you’re looking for, there is a large selection of traditional German beer and wine. If you’re not sure, just grab a single bottle and bring it home for a try. There are also non-​alcoholic bottled drinks available. Äpfelschörle, Fanta, and mineral waters are among the offerings.
Finally, if you are a cook who likes those traditional German meals, there are frozen and fresh meat, dairy and bread items, as well as dried goods such as seasoning mixes, soups and Dr. Ötker baking mixes and supplies. You can find the correct measuring cups and tools there, along with cookbooks to help you out.
The employees love Germany, so if you are german or speak German, or have just spent a lot of time there, it will be easy to find yourself in conversation. They also offer a military discount for all of those families who miss the goodies they enjoyed while stationed overseas.

I know German Deli through their amazing website (
) where they sell everything they sell in their store. I have been a customer for three years and each and every order has been a reference gold standard in how to do business over the Internet but also how to do business in general, Period. These folks really have it all together and if every company on earth were run this well and this efficiently with this level of customer service, it would truly be a beautiful world.

Selection is just off the charts. All of the goodies I remember from my time in Germany are here. Say, 20 different kinds of German sauerkraut are on hand. Yes, they had my two favorites. From sauerkraut to chocolates, they have it all and at very reasonable prices. Ordering is very easy. Their site communicates very well but after you click the «place order» button, that’s just the beginning.
Real, love human people (you know the type) take over and you’ll get an email at each and every step of the order processing. They tell you when it has been downloaded, picked, packed and shipped. If something happens to be out of stock, they will let you know you you can make an informed choice about deleting an item or substituting another.
Orders are packed as if they are going to the space station. Man, if only everything could be packed this well. I’ve never had a loss in transit, even of glass items because they know how to pack stuff. Everything arrives in perfect condition. Today, I received chocolates on a 105 °F day and they are perfect because they were packed in an insulated container with ice packs. Every item is individually bagged so if something does happen to one, it won’t ruin everything to make a mess. They really pull out all the stops to make sure the goodies arrive in perfect condition. (Pardon me as I have another rum ball.)
Order with confidence and knock yourself out with the chocolates, jams and the sweet, delicate sauerkraut made with white wine which only comes from Germany. If you hate sauerkraut, try just one more. You’ll be in love. The Badedas bath soap takes me back to feeling squeaky clean and refreshed at a hotel in the Black Forest.
This company is one of my very favorites with which to do business. Neiman-​Marcus could take lessons from them in customer service. Oh yeah, if the website calculates shipping that is higher than actual, they take off the difference and send an email to tell you they are doing so. Amazing.

A great store for people craving German food. They have everything from canned soups to candy, snacks and lunch meat. They even have German toiletries.
Now since a lot of the things they carry are imported they’re not cheap and some of the more common items you might be able to find cheaper at special sales at Aldi, World Market and sometimes Central Market, but most items you can’t really find anywhere else (the selection is much bigger than at Kuby’s). As a big plus, they now have a license to sell beer and wine, too, and they have a good selection from German breweries/​vineyards.
They oftentimes have events when they have samples and Brats and Wieners on the Grill for sale, which is always good.

Wow, simply amazing. Thuy and I recently traveled to Germany and the trip included stops in Regensburg and Nuremberg (among others). But Regensburg and Nuremberg were special in the sense that these two cities have a bit of a sausage war going on and we were more than happy to partake (links for my two reviews are at the bottom). Well fast forward a few months and Thuy and I find ourselves thinking about those sausages, so we figure it’s time to check out the German Deli.
First off, having the word «deli» in the name is a bit confusing. It’s not a deli in the sense of a fresh meat case, things being sliced to order, or even sandwiches to go. The German Deli is a specialty grocery store dealing in European items. And they do this very well.
We managed to find our two goals: Sweet mustard (from Regensburg no less) and Nuremberg sausages. Now to be honest we liked the sausages from Regensburg better, but some of that had to do with the sweet mustard. We found several packages of these wonderful small sausages, and one variety is actually imported from Nuremberg. The other is from the Stiglmeir Sausage Company in Wheeling, IL. We also could not resist the Curry Bratwurst, from SiegI’s Sausage Factory in Tulsa, OK.
So with sausages in hand, we browsed the rest of the store. Don’t let the name fool you. Although it’s called «German Deli» foods from that part of Europe are featured. I particularly likes the selection of Polish products, notable the cherries in brandy. The store also has a vast selection of European sweets, with more Haribo products than I have ever seen. Oh, and good selection of beer and wine too! The selection in this store is quite amazing, and worthy of a visit.
The store is quite large, open, clean and organized nicely. If you look closely, many products are on sale (some as they near their expiration date — some sausages were in this category).
I have no doubt we will be back, especially when we run out of sweet mustard and/​or want to try some new varieties of German sausages (we have not tried today’s purchase yet). Oh, if you bring your own bag, you’ll save 10 cents. And there is a frequent shopper program too where you actually earn store credit (via a gift card) when you reach certain spending limits.
