History

Established in 2001.

MPi Permanent Makeup has been in business for over 10 years. Laura Rappoport, RN has owned MPi since 2001 and has performed thousands of procedures. When the clinic first opened it’s doors the permanent makeup industry was in its infancy. In fact, it was a time when tattoos were not nearly as popular as they are today and many women did not get them. Since permanent makeup is a tattoo process, the early practitioners came up with a name for the process that was more suitable for their clients. That name was micro-pigment implantation (also called micropigmentation). That is what MPi stands for and how MPi Permanent Makeup got it’s name.

Meet the Business Owner

Laura R.

Business Owner

I am frequently asked how I got into permanent makeup. The truth is that I stumbled into it. I was working as a plastic surgery nurse and I would see clients come in to the doctor’s office with really good or mostly really bad permanent makeup. I started asking around to find out who did the best permanent makeup in town. I discovered that MPi Clinic in San Diego was well known and well respected as the leader. I trained for over a year to learn the art of permanent makeup and develop my own style. Then the owner decided to step down so I bought the clinic and she worked for me until she retired. My timing happened to be good and I happened to have a knack for permanent makeup. It’s really nothing I ever could have planned and now I can’t imagine doing anything else. In 2010 I decided to move back to DFW to raise my kids near my family. Now I’m pleased to be able to offer my services in Dallas/Ft. Worth and MPi Permanent Makeup Clinic is growing quickly.
