Another great brisket sandwich. Great staff and environment. Food is always tasty It’s such a pleasure to find consistency in a restaurant and then to find out that the consistency is Top Notch. Thanks to all the crew at Red Barn.

Pecan makes a great BBQ. I read the review by the only ad review and all I can say is u must of come on a bad day. I too have eaten at all the great BBQ places in Dallas and Franklins in Austin. I think they are slipping as they get bigger quality control is always an issue. This place has been consistent since day one. Been here in a place that you would not consider as a good place. Colleyville is a high end place to live yet this place continues to do we’ll.

My husband is a BBQ snob and thought this place had good smoked flavor. Ribs were delicious. Brisket fell off the bone. Enjoyed my meal and I will be back

Brisket was tender and juicy. Hot link had great flavor. Wanted to try the banana pudding but was too stuffed.

Tried their wings. That was my mistake. Should have gotten the bbq since that’s their specialty. The wings weren’t crispy like I wanted them to be. I even asked for Extra Crispy. Their sauce wasn’t that great, either. I don’t think they make it in-house. On another note, my friend got their brisket and it was kind of dry. Not sure what the deal was. The saving grace is that the bbq sauce made it better. That’s about it.

Whoa what a bummer. Stopped in for lunch one day with some friends and we were really ready for some good BBQ. Red Barn looks good, from the outside, and smells good, just not so much on tasting good. When we first walked in it became very apparent that the building has done some major settling over the years. I looked at the menu and it had all the norms for about the same price as the Big Boys of BBQ such as Franklin’s or Pecan Lodge. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and hotlinks, and two sides of coleslaw and macaroni salad. Well the divided cafeteria plate it came on was not a good sign of things to come. First I tried the macaroni salad, pretty much straight mayo for that taste. The coleslaw was decent but couldn’t make up for the macaroni salad. Then I tried the hotlink, the banana peppers in my fridge at home had more of a heat and strangely enough I was getting a major maple syrup vibe. Almost like they stuffed a sausage casing with breakfast sausage. Last and unfortunately least was the sliced brisket. I even asked for fatty brisket to make sure it was moist and delicious. The fat had already congealed meaning it was cold, there was no pink smoke ring so they«smoked» it wrapped or baked it first, and it was dry as shit. Such a disappointment as the place had some real charm and potential. My buddies all tried other items as well and the best was the chopped beef. In today’s game of great BBQ in Texas, you better step up your game as an independent shop before you just become the next Spring Creek or Dickey’s chain location.

Small, quaint, and personal. Ribs were moist and falling off the bone. Brisket was amazing. And the potato salad and coleslaw were very good. Topped off the meat with spicy sauce — perfect. Will be back!

I’d give this 3−½ if half a were possible. The atmosphere is quaint and homey but small. No 2nds on sides at least no signage. Corn waterlogged The green beans good and the broccoli salad good. BBQ Ham very good BBQ turkey very good. Flavorful and moist. Ribs were gristly and small servings. No rolls but they toast white bread is fresh and tasty. Small parking lot. People polite and nice. We are going back to try again and see if ribs were a fluke and just a bad batch on buying from their butcher.

I just really wish it would have been better. It just really wasn’t. Sorry Van. Been here before, and Van’s a pretty good man. I guess they’re just off the mark tonight? Out of ribs on Monday nite all you can eat?!. Brisket tough, dry. No flavour. Stuff sitting in warmer just gets dry.

We came here for my birthday and it was amazing! I’ve been to so many BBQ places where the meat was good but the sides were terrible and vice versa. At Red Barn everything is great. Between all of us we tried nearly everything on the menu and couldn’t find a single miss. It’s a small restaurant but the atmosphere is good and the staff is really friendly. This is my new favorite BBQ joint!

I’ve been away from Texas for 20 years, and now that I’m back, I wanted to find the best BBQ around. I’m thinking about purchasing a house in Colleyville, so we started there and found Red Barn. Brisket, chopped brisket, chicken, pork and so many sides, exactly the way it should be. Fries, beans, green beans(with onion and bacon, of course), macaroni salad, potato salad, they’ve got them all, as long as you get there before they sell out, which can be tricky. The young men behind the counter were working hard to keep up with demand, but they never stopped talking and never lost their smile the whole time we were there. Always cool to see the employees having fun. My chopped brisket sandwich, green beans, and macaroni sad welcomed me back to Texas with open arms.

We were wanting some barbeque and have tried most of the places close by so we decided to drive over to Red Barn after reading some of the Unilocalers reviews — I Loved everything about it classic Barbecue Joint — has 4 tables on the front deck its not a big place but I would say the setup is roomy didn’t’ feel crowded in. Its been around for awhile and the walls are decorated with the family history and relics from the past corrugated tin walls on the sides really gave it a family run look — now the menu was simple Beef/Chicken/Pork/Sausage sides and relish bar were the usual fare — we decided on a sliced beef basket w/fires and cole slaw and 2 meat combo sliced beef, sausage with Fries and Broccoli salad the sliced beef was delicious tender and juicy it was done right, coleslaw left a little to be desired and the broccoli salad was different and tasty 2 sauces to choose from sweet or spicey we choose the sweet it was thick put poured perfectly and complimented the beef well I would have gave a 5 but they had ran out of pork which force me into the 2 meat combo instead of the 3 apparently they were busy and the trash container was full they got right on it when I pointed it out to them just 2 people working the counter they were extremely courteous and helpful. Its a locals joint and we will return when in the area and craving some barbeque

This place has some very lovely things like their ribs, fried okra, and their sauces. The wings were on the dry side.

I always prefer non-chain BBQ places. The food here is really good. It’s in a weird location and kind of difficult to get into, and it looks run down, but it’s seriously so good. The sauce is really good and Texan-y. Okra was perfect. Price was reasonable. Staff was nice and accommodating. It was surprisingly empty when I went, but it was raining so maybe that’s why.

I decided to give them another chance and picked up some takeout for me and the Hubs this past Saturday for lunch. I got a pound of sliced brisket, and sides of pinto beans, green beans, and broccoli slaw, as well as some buns and the spicy bbq sauce. The folks behind the counter were super-nice and helpful and packaged everything up nicely. I live about 10 minutes away and everything was piping hot when I got home(except the slaw which was still cold). And this time the brisket was moist, smoky and very yummy(unlike the very dry brisket I had last time). Actually, everything was good and there were enough leftovers for my lunch today. I would rate the food this time a ‘4’ to a ‘4.5′, but since I had some pretty awful brisket last time I have to figure there may be a consistency issue. I think last time I got pre-sliced brisket that had been sitting around for a while. They might want to rethink that.

Red Barn Bar-B-Que is the closest BBQ to my house so if I’m craving some«better than decent» BBQ, this will do just fine! This barn is very quaint and the atmosphere is intimate and makes me feel like I’m in the deep country side which is nice. I came in because I was craving moist brisket so I ended up with the 2 Meat+2 Side Platter which I chose brisket, jalapeño cheese sausage, green beans, corn on the cob. I had the choice of the Sweet Sauce or Spicy Sauce and opted for getting both barbecue sauces. The brisket was average and wasn’t super moist nor did it have a ton of flavor but it did well to satisfy my craving and I really enjoyed the sweet sauce(I have a sweeter palate), the spicy one was also good since it’s got a bit of a kick. My favorite pieces of the brisket were the end pieces when it had a lot of crisp and flavor to to the crust. On Mondays theres the AYCE option which is neat if you’re nearby and are wanting a lot of meat. I wouldn’t mind coming back again but for now I’ll continue to try out other Barbeque places in the area to see what I find.

A friend and I stopped in here last night while we were on the prowl for dinner. I, personally, had tried getting in a couple of times in the past but I always catch them when they’re closed so I was excited for the experience. We get to the door and it’s an actual door for a house where you have to turn the knob and close it behind you. We were greeted right away by a moderately young and handsome man which I was put off by because it’s just not typical of a barbecue joint. He was joined by another young man as they made suggestions. Opting for the brisket sandwich for me and brisket with pulled pork for my friend, we both got the spicy sauce which I really didn’t find spicy even at all. I thought it was all excellent. I will definitely be going back. The brisket was beyond moist and flavorful. The sauce had great flavor. The bun was soft and glistening. I seriously had no complaints. There’s a full little area for your standard barbeque toppings. Pickles, onions, peppers and whatnot. These guys are doing something right.

Red Barn BBQ should be called«Old» Barn BBQ. The place is extremely outdated, but hey aren’t the best places rustic looking? Don’t let the plastic plates and cafeteria trays fool you… for being in «uppity-up» Colleyville, Red Barn Bar-B-Que is downright delicious! The smell of smoked BBQ makes it tempting for anyone to order everything on their menu. Chopped brisket was tender, juicy and lip smacking good!(best thing on the menu) I was pleased to find very little fat on my ribs and the sweet bbq sauce complimented both the brisket and ribs in the most perfect way! Potato salad was delicious too! I only wished they had corn bread, but I guess in Texas their version of cornbread is Texas Toast! Staff was really friendly. Prices were a bit on the high side, but I guess its the price you pay for good BBQ. If you are expecting to pay«Spring Creek» prices, you aren’t going to find that here. I promise you that your stomach will be yearning for more Big Tex BBQ at Red Barn once you’ve had a nibble on their brisket!

once a month i get me some BBQ to go on my way home from work. this place screams BBQ from the outside and the inside. I get the brisket and pork. the potato salad and coleslaw. I prefer the sweet over the spicy BBQ sauce. One of the best BBQ places i know in DFW.
