Specialties
Established in 1971, Waypoint Montessori is an AMI Recognized Montessori school serving children ages 14 months through 14 years (8th grade). Nestled on nine wooded acres in Colleyville, Texas, Waypoint is halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth.
Waypoint Montessori educates the whole child, nurturing the love of learning that lies within. The work of the children reveals curiosity, involvement, creativity, thoughtfulness, enthusiasm, and self discovery — all facets of learning that the Montessori philosophy develops so fully. Following the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, an atmosphere for personal growth is created and children blossom in this environment.
History
Established in 1971.
Waypoint Montessori opened as the Montessori Academy of Grapevine in 1971 at the request of interested parents. After only one year, the school had overgrown its facility in Grapevine, and was relocated to a property in Southlake. It was in this location for 13 years.
By 1986, the school’s increasing enrollment precipitated a move to the current location, and the school was renamed to honor its founder. Beginning with just two buildings, the campus has expanded over the years to include approximately nine acres and eleven buildings.
