Gould’s Day Spa & Salon

Made a last minute appointment this morning to get a much needed trim. I was paired with Ms. Phyllis. She was amazing.
I had previously seen my hair stylist friend a few months ago and got a cute pixie cut. It has now grown out and almost resembled a mix between a bob and mullet. So definitely needing a trim to even out my hair as it grows out, I saw Ms. Phyllis. You can definitely see her calm confidence radiating from her as she explained how she was going to cut your hair and proceeded to cut my hair. Throughout the whole process she explains what she is doing and why she is doing it. My stick straight, course Asian hair has been tamed. I can’t wait to see her in 2 months for another trim as I go on the journey of growing out my hair into a lob.

Gypsy is really awesome. Always go to this location with the daughter and she works with both of us. From bleaching to drastically cut hair, Gypsy is our go-​to girl. She also likes to hear jokes, which makes my daughter happy. She is really funny and does killer haircuts. I totally recommend booking an appointment with her when you visit this location.

I had a delightful base & highlight color and styling experience with Phyllis, aka Fee Fee. In addition to being confident and talented, she was warm, funny and sweet.
I went to Gould’s purely on the basis of location and Unilocal and I am so glad that I did. My hair looks great!

Review is strictly for Lisa and her waxing prowess. She’s so amazing, I followed her from her previous place of employment out to the bowels of West Poplar. This woman knows her wax. I won’t share intimate details of my experiences with her, but ladies, if you need to be waxed and waxed well, ask for Lisa.

I love Gould’s. More… I love Shawn. I went/​have been going here since 2005 and Shawn has never failed me. Or my mom, sister, and brother. Now, one thing I wish all hair reviews would have is what type of hair people have so I know what a stylist is good at working with. My hair is straight as a pin, baby fine in texture, and thick as all get out. That being said, I don’t think there is any type that Shawn can’t work with as all of my family members have different types of hair. Shawn is also a color genius. Another great thing about Shawn is he will be honest and tell you if he doesn’t think something is a good idea. He always seems to get what I’m going for, whether I’m describing it or showing him eight pictures from my phone. I moved away from Memphis in 2012 and yet every time I boo a flight back, the very next thing I do is book a hair appointment. Shawn is very, very popular though so book early!

My first appointment with Gypsy I walked in and told her to faux hawk my hair. She had no problem coming at me with the clippers and doing something extreme.
She does my amazing color. I love that I can come in with some pictures and ideas and she works with me to make them happen.
she isn’t afraid to take risks. I love that because I don’t want boring hair. She listens to what I want and always makes sure I am happy.

Hair Extensions – coming from San Francisco and long a fan (fine limp natural hair) extensions are a must!!! When I moved to this area I was flying back to the west coast to get them done. i found Goulds in Collierville, stylist, JoAnn Riggs and woohoo, five years later I am getting then done every six or so weeks. If you wear extensions or want extensions (for just volume or length) make an appointment with JoAnn. She is the best! I even had her put on the Hairdreams Microline for awhile to enjoy the hair I wish I had.

First of all, I should mention that I’m actually from Austin, TX and am only here for the month while I am waiting for my lease to start on my new place in New York. So in the mean time, I’m staying in Collierville with family and needed to get my hair done. After checking out all the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to try Gould’s since the reviews sounded so good. So I made an appointment for highlighted, a trim, eyebrows wax and a manicure and a pedicure… you know, the whole shebang. Boy am I glad I did. I absolutely love the results and I had a great time there. My stylist was Debbie and she is real fun to talk with and she knows what she is doing. I love the way she trimmed my hair and I love how my color turned out. If she makes a suggestion, you should trust her because she knows what she is talking about. Anyway, when ever I’m in town I will definitely go back to see her. She is now my regular stylist here in Collierville.

I went to this salon because of the previous review that was written. It told of FeFe and how great the was. I booked my appointment with her. Being new to town, I rely on Unilocal for everything. I booked my appointment with Phee Phee Green. She was a true delight, and is very knowledgeable and listens to what you have to say regarding your hair. I felt like I’d found a new friend. I only had my color touched up, but will definitely go back to Phee Phee again in a heart beat. She matched my color perfectly… if you need «hair help» or a new style… definitely call Phee Phee. She get a 5 star in my book. The salon is clean and bright and everyone seems to be having a great time.

I go to FeeFee here for hair cuts. I love the way she cuts my hair. I never really love they way any hair stylist styles my hair, and always go home and take a shower and fix it again. I hope she never leaves, and the way she cuts my bangs is awesome
